Well bro, I guess no one can tell u exactly the height you are asking coz the low and high beam slightly tilted towards the left side of the road for a better visibility of roadside(in any vehicle). The beam is not evenly spreading so it is pretty hard to answer, but anyways, I guess you have played with the headlight adjustment screw which is easily accessible with a screwdriver below the left side of the Speedo? So, just rotate it till the beam height is 2 feet 5 inches(as on mine) on low beam from a barrier 5 feet away! I hope you got it

And hello guys, after a while, but riding my ZMR a lot, really lot. For the past 2 weeks bike has clocked over 7000kms.. The engine is getting more crispier response and noise, vibrations seems to be reducing, Gears are butter smooth now thanks to proper clutch adjustment, no overheating as such even rode for over 600kms non stop, and simply this engine can take as much as abuse and tourture kind of riding without any hassle..

And engine oil is doing its part too, Mobil1 4t 10W40 fully synthetic. No modifications now odo is 26573km, out of it over 15000kms has been done within last 6 weeks which includes a lot of extreme off-roading and dusty gravel road. Simply superb... With so much more riding to come..lets see..

Thank you for the answer bro .

No i haven't touched that screw which is for light adjustment as we know , instead there are some bolts at back side of reflector assembly , which are not fully tight , so i tighten them & what i found is instead of square / pentagon spread , the light is spreading as two circles like sunglass or like there are two projectors . I want to get back the origional spread shape .

Are you sure the height is 2 feet 5 inches ? As after lossing that bolts completely i get height around 3 feet & after fully tight its around 4 ft 5 inches .

Please check it one more time if possible .

May be.. and may be because those were the first 1000km of my ride and i was taking extra caution not to cross 60km/hr speed and not to stress the engine in any way..
After completing 1k in the odo.. if any rider juss overtakes me.. i take it as a challenge and race ahead of him

            • Right Handlebar weight Stolen!!

              Hi,

It seems someone stole my ZMR's right handlebar weight at office parking today coz I don't think it will fall of easily. Please lemme know the cost of the same? Do I have to buy a pair? I had called the SS at ghatkopar in mumbai and they said they will have to order the same which may take 3-5 days. Also asked me to contact Fortpoint dealer at Mahim. Any faster way to get it?

Also, planning to give my bike for first servicing when I go to fix the weight...Most probably this weekend? How to ensure whether the bike is properly serviced ? The mech says will only take an hr to do it

              • Hey guys,

I have finally decided to go with the mighty ZMR...

But i have a few questions...

The height - I am 5.9" and i am not able to keep both my feet at rest on ground... There is like "just' half to 1 inch gap between my feet and the ground (back of my feet). I can keep both the feet on my toes ... actually more than just my toes ... I guess you guys understand :P...

But yet, I was able to ride it, though it was a bit heavier compared to the slick R15. So I am not sure if it would be comfortable for me if i buy, but definitely great if i could keep both my feet on the ground completely... And yes the pillion ride is great..

So would like to know if there is a possibility to reduce the height by 2 cms or so or maybe some other way with which i can achieve full comfort even while not riding (the ride is perfect i'd say )

                Suggestions please! PMs are welcomed!!

Try playing with rear shock settings. Also you can get a custom made seat(Lil less in cushioning.
I'm 5.6" still I can completely land both my legs with bike stood still(With everything stock).

Ooops, well you have totaly screwed up your headlight focus bro.. You shouldn't had touch that screws, they change the lense sideways, which once you change it, it is pretty hard to get back the original focus.. And also those bolts are not easily accessible, so you are in a difficult situation to adjust them also..

Well, try to find a small, size 10 box spanner, and take your bike to a really dark place, and turn on your headlight and try to adjust the bolts.. First, fully tight them then loose it with the spanner with same amount in both bolts at once, one turn by one turn(better ask a friend to adjust the other screw with u), at one point, u will get the original spread, but at this point the beam may be tilted towards one side, if it is, then adjust one screw further by looking at the beam, while doing this try to figure out which screw tilt beam to which side, and adjust accordingly, you need to have a lot of concentratin on this and beleive me it is a hard job, u need to have a lot of patience too.

After u get the spread u want, then adjust the adjustment screw for the correct height..

After u r done, Dont ever touch those screws again..!

This happened with me also, it was very difficult to get the original focus back. As per my observations, those screws will change the alignment and the focus of the headlight beam. So be careful when doing this, u might end up getting a totally useless headlight..

Nope, in Sri Lanka bro. I simply cannot resist exploring & riding in this truly wonderful country.. Yes, this bike has proved that it can take a hell lot of tourture without a hesitation. It was a realy good expreience I had with this bike, observed a hell lot of things with & about this machine.. Almost every part of this country is covered with my ZMR, in every kind of roads, be it off or on, just a small part left to cover.. Yes rode for far more than 500kms a day sometimes through rain, dust, cold and whatever with sweat and pain in every muscle, but at the end of the day, the experience brought me the smile I was searching for

Please drain the oil immediatly(you are using a Semi Syn oil which will delay the running-in process), pour a Mineral oil, Motul or Gulf, both are better, 10W30 or 20W40. Stick to this Mineral till at least 6000Kms. And why did you wait so long till 1100kms for the first oil change, you should have done it at least within first 500kms.. After 1000kms change your oil again (for you it is 3000kms), then change oil within 2000km mark(mineral will last for 2000kms)

20W40 will run much cooler and silent than the 10W30 Mineral. I prefer Motul Or Gulf 20W40. So choice is yours, and stick to it till at least 6000kms don't ever think about oils till then
