Currently having RTR 160 carb and Yezdi classic 250, I've been commuting/ touring on both the bikes, riding on RTR for more than 4 years i found it is great bike (apart from vibes) for commuting in the city traffic, however i am looking out for my machine which can be ideal for touring then commuting.

Since last couple of weeks I've been reading all the posts/ reviews regarding ZMA-R/ ZMR, P220 and RE TBTS which is making me more and more dazed, to avoid any further confusion I decided to TYPE a query here

I am thinking to go for Karizma, however still bit confused whether it is ZMA-R or ZMR.

    Priorities:
FE, Riding posture, pillion comfort along with the saddlebags, VFM etc.

Please help me to choose my ride wisely.

    Cheers,
    Amogh.
Riding posture/comfort is same in ZMA & ZMR...only difference ZMR has over ZMA

Fi (Fuel Injection) with lots of sensors..
    Rear Disc
    Full Fairing
    Oil Cooled
    LED Tail
FE is better in ZMR due to Fi
Full LED Display on Meter Console
    &
    Price...

Also; if you can wait till mid of year then suggest for CBR150....(coming in April)

Thanks for the reply mate, Yeah i've heard about the new baby CBR, tech specs are awesome, though i am considering the riding posture at upmost priority, up right position. as sometimes (presuming most of the time) I'll be riding with my better half , so depending on the pillion comfort i was thinking about ZMA-R or ZMR

I am not quiet sure, but do you feel CBR 150 has comfortable riding posture for both pillion and rider?

      Cheers,
      Amogh.

Thanks i will check with the Honda dealer as well , and I apologize for not giving you guys proper information about my requirement, actually as i mentioned earlier I've been looking a bike for touring/commuting for both the purpose and it should be comfortable for all the terrain... proper ground clearance, FE, cursing speed of 100/110 KPH etc. (i am no more crazy for the speed though, i've had RD-350)

since ages i've been reading about Suzuki GW250 or Yamaha fazer 250 but I guess it is just a rumor about these bikes, anyways I shall be sticking back to the topic, and update you soon.

I am presuming you have ZMR, can u provide me it's feedback?

ZMR has no issues with road clearance until u go for hardcore offroading for which impulse and KTM will be needed.... One of the brownie points of ZMR is FI.... Mileage is very good... at constant speeds of 90-100 it returned me a whooping 48 kmpl in the latest ride... it can cruise all day at 110 kmph comfortably... so no worries for that factor...

Hope i have helped you.. you can check this also...HERO HONDA KARIZMA ZMR, Review, Price, Parts, Accessories, Mileage, India, 7 months 16000 kms.... now i can write a review - MouthShut.com

However, I have noticed a squeaking noise now and assume that it's from the front wheel. Can few drops of oil fix it?

Or is it pssible that the noise is from somewhere else....fairing maybe??
Friends, could this squeaking noise be due to overtightening of the bolt holding the front wheel ? Have read something like "Torque bolts to 18 ft/lb on a ninja 250r to get rid of the squeaking noise". Should i ask him to untighten it somewhat ?

Did u clean the disc brakes with a jet of water... dust in the pads is the most common culprit for noise...

No issues...good for daily running (i.e. office)...good mileage... i am getting 42...good pickup...you can easily run on 110 KM...handling is good and feel light on running although bike weight is high...full DC connection...issue with spares availability...have to wait longer...

Thanks for your reply,I was wondering about all terrain how ZMR performs in such conditions? you must be knowing how well Indian roads are , well i am not looking for hardcore offroading, so I guess ZMR fits in all my requirements, I'll be going to Hero united dealer in pune tomorrow and shall book it, any preferences for hero dealer stores in pune?

Thanks mate, yeah I've heard about spare availability, however it can be same case for all premium bikes such as Ninja, CR or yamaha, so that shouldn't be issue, my only concern was performance in all terrain, comfort, FE and ofcourse VFM, as i will be using it for commuting as well.

                            Cheers,

The Wakdewadi dealer.. Pratham is good .. when i got the 2011 model .. he was the only one knowing about it and had actually few in stock.. i guess he will give you the fastest delivery with less fuss...

While taking insurance check out the premium and kind of insurance... personally i dont feel the need for third party insurance... rest is your choice...

One more thing... if you are buying from Pratham... bargain him into giving teflon coat free.. if he doesnt, insist for the bill.. the teflon coating guy would say he would do it in 500 without bill... dont do that... pay more but get the bill....

                              Hope to c u soon in a G2G
