Yup rightly said soOriginally posted by Above_All View PostI got my ZMR in Feb 2011 & insurance given by showroom people is Tata AIG , But there is no such "ND Cover" anywhere & the ASC guys saying only 50% on fiber parts . Is i got wrong insurance policy ?
If possible please forward the pm to me .
ZMR is the sexiest bike , when i got it from showroom , i road it direct to my college first & upon entering in college i noticed that every guy having those high end bikes from other indian manufactures whith which they poses in campus got screwed by seeing the beauty of ZMR . And on each day i found that when i park it & go to lecture they come & do photo session .
If you want a proof how guys got screwed by Karizma's just check the thread on xbhp with name 'Is the Karizma losing its appeal?' there you will find all negative replies from guys who got hurt by the beauty .
Sir Valvoline oils seems to be good using the Valvoline SAE 90 grade oil to lube the chain from 8 months . All seems to be good so far .
Wow 13 years !
its a really long wait man , but now i think you are more than satisfied

Check for proper working of TPS...SVC may be able to help with diagnostic tool.Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostIf i run my ZMR for an speed more than 70 KM...bike seems to be smooth...engine sound very low...feel light in riding...and if i run on slow speed let less then 60...i feel engine sound very high/harsh...not smooth...why this is happening? When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Here is more detail...One of the Common Inlet Air Temperature sensor works by having a heater wire, with a heat sensor,... this is cooled by the incoming air..the amount of current through the wire is proportional to the cooling ,and varies the current through it..This varying current is sensed and used as a value. If you add a resistor in parallel to the sensor it will by pass more current, meaning the inlet air is cool and dense, and more petrol is injected.Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostThanks psr...you always share very informative and useful information.
For O2 sensor, more Oxygen in exhaust means less fuel(lean) and vice versa. The sensor ,once hot, functions by putting out a voltage between 0 to 1 volts.0.5 is the threshold for sensing .less than 0.45 is lean(more oxygen) and more than 0.5 is rich( no oxygen ).
For a more detailed explanation...

I am also having the same issue, yep the engine is very harsh below 70kmph and smooth above 70kmph..Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostIf i run my ZMR for an speed more than 70 KM...bike seems to be smooth...engine sound very low...feel light in riding...and if i run on slow speed let less then 60...i feel engine sound very high/harsh...not smooth...why this is happening?
PSR sir, please explain more details, I have heard about it but have no proper idea on this TPS..Originally posted by psr View PostCheck for proper working of TPS...SVC may be able to help with diagnostic tool.

A throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the position of the throttle in an internal combustion engine. The sensor is usually located on the butterfly spindle so that it can directly monitor the position of the throttle valve butterfly.
The sensor is usually a potentiometer, and therefore provides a variable resistance dependent upon the position of the valve (and hence throttle position).

I think we need a DLC meter to play with it , i am not sure , psr sir would provide details on it which makes it clear to all of us .

The TPS is a Linear Variable resistor coupled to the throttle actuation, to sense the relative position of the throttle. It is like the Volume Control in our Radio or Music system, and is mostly circular in construction...The most commonly used TPS resistor value in Motorcycle is 5 K Ohms(5,000 ohms), and can be measured with a Digital Multimeter..Each engine has a specific voltage range, but normally it is 0.5 Volts at "0" throttle and + 4.5 Volts at Full throttle...+ or - 0.4 Volts..This voltage is used for Advancing or retarding the Ignition timing map,and also the Injector timing and lift in Fi engines.Originally posted by Above_All View PostA throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the position of the throttle in an internal combustion engine. Thank u very much, but how could a malfunction or whatever of TPS related to the engine smoothness which we experience?Originally posted by psr View PostThe TPS is a Linear Variable resistor coupled to the throttle actuation, to sense the relative position of the throttle........
If it is malfunctioning, how it could be recognized and how to diagnose?

Attach a Digital Multimeter to the center point of the TPS,switch on the ignition and check the voltage.THE TPS TO WIRE LOOM CONNECTION SHOULD BE GOOD.ie., the connector should be fully inserted in to it's socket..At "0" throttle the voltage should be 0.5 volts...now slowly twist the throttle and see how the voltage rise..The voltage should gradually increase with throttle till WOT reads 4.5 Volts...any other condition indicates a defective TPS.Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostThank u very much, but how could a malfunction or whatever of TPS related to the engine smoothness which we experience?

The ECU or the CDI Ignition timing control /injector control, is done by the variable voltage from the TPS.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

great...also what i am facing is as i mentioned that after 70 KM bike runs smooth..but it runs as same only for 2/3 days after that for more than a week or month it again become harsh even on riding at 80-90 KMPH...is it same problem of TPS?
If its a problem of TPS sensor then will the Fi malfunction indicator blinks?
