  • Guys, what would a decently maintained Karizma ZMR that is 2-years old fetch in Bangalore ? This is for a friend.

Guys, have a look at the video.
The RVM issue is giving me headaches. Despite changing the hub and the washers and tightening, it comes out loose daily.

It comes loose around the 40 sec mark.
If you care about functionality rather than looks, then go for a retro mod, and use the Dazzler RVM's. And you can use the stock mounts on the fairing for something else. i.e DRL's/Blinkers etc.

      • After seeing this bike, now I think, HH could have done better job with stickers of ZMR. This bike looks real sexy to me.

No way , If other mirrors are added , the front screen will broke while turning & create problem as mirror arm will get stuck in it .

As i said before to him he need to replace "BOLT BUTTAN 8X27" if that not worked then also needs to replace "LEFT BACK MIRROR BASE" .

Also someone said oiling the old "BOLT BUTTAN 8X27" thread & fitting it will solve the issue .

That bike look ugly to me , but found some another thing sexy
I think the Hero had done good job with the stickers as they always outperform others in this section
BTW who is that guy ? Is that you ? ( Both pillion seems different . Fourth & last pic )

Sure about that? Cause the RVM's are made in such a way that theres a curveature in the mid section so that it'll not foul with the fairing/visor.

That is why BOLT covered that typical mirror mounting & added the mirrors on fairing . The guy i know ( who converted his Karizma R to ZMR ) tried to use his old mirrors but while installing we found it stucking in the screen , so added the fairing mirrors . Don't have 100 % idea about Dazzlers mirror .one need to try to add those mirror's on those mounting . ( And if that Screen got broken then need to replace it . )

                • Hi Guys,

Today on the way to office after about 10 KMs from home my ZMR stalled . I was doing about 80 and the suddenly the engine stopped. Somehow managed to stop the bike on the busy HOSUR ROAD FLYOVER. This was just unexpected. My baby never disappointed me, but today I really don't know what happened. Numerous attempts to start the bike failed. I had about 3 L petrol, so it was not a case of low fuel. Just left the bike for about 5 mins and pressed the START button and this time to my surprise, the engine came to life .

As far as I see, this was not related to electrics or fuel. I still don't have a clue as to what might have caused this problem. Did anyone else face the similar problem? Please put some light on this guys and let me know what may have caused this.

Same issue as mine... Check whether all fuses are proper. Sometimes they tend to get loose. Open your seat and check the fuses. Replace them if needed. If all is well and problem continues, replace the starter relay.

I tried the Dazzler RVM thing. It doesn't hit the visor/fairing at all. But, its an eyesore. I'm sticking with stock RVMs.

Waiting for seniors to reply on this. Maybe vacuum formation in the fuel path. Make sure that the fuel pipe (or whatever the technical name) is not blocked.

No. The Dazzler RVMs do well. But, I decided against them. Explained above.
I am 100% sure that RVM's which comes with Splendor , Passion , Karizma R etc will broke the Front Screen while turning the handle fully . Even they will create problem in turning .

Check the attached picture , they will explain it better , as i have marked general mirror mounting point & front screen in first picture , and then captured picture with different angles of their position with respect to each other on full turning of handle . Then again captured the pictures with showing that how it is problematic with the typical mirror using Passion mirror .

So i think either Dazzler's RVM's comes with exat "T" shaped arm ( 90 degree exactly ) and the leg will be very short ( the end side which has threads which gonna fit in that mountings . ) Cause then it will not create a problem .

Would you please post a picture of Dazzler RVM & a picture by fixing it in that mounting & handle is turned completely , so it will clear that whether Dazzler's RVM will broke or not the Front Screen .

Sorry for the misleading info guys. I never saw by turning the handle fully. It does obstruct the turning and touches the visor.

                          • karizma ZMR

                            Hi frnds,
I am planning to buy a bike.. I have karizma ZMR as one of the options.
I have questions to ask, would really appreciate if members answer my queries.. I am going to buy a bike within 10days.. so plz help.

Q1. I have heard that the spare parts availability is big a problem for this bike.. is that true?? if yes.. how much time does it take to get the parts on an avg.?

Q2. How much mileage do we get on this bike in city riding conditions.. with bumper to bumper traffic most of the time.. (Bangalore). ?

Q3. For the bike insurance, does it cover the fairing as well?

Q4. Any battery issues? as this bike does not have a kick starter.

Q5. Any known issues with the bike that I should be aware of?

Q6. How is Hero Motocorp. after sales service?

Q7. Can we get the bike fitted with ZMA fairing?

Any overall feedback/review would really be appreciated.

AFAIK, since HH became HMC, the waiting period has reduced. But still it depends what spares you're waiting for. Some are available off the shelf, whereas some may make you wait for a month!
You always have the option of making full payment at the SVC and get the spares shipped to your place within a week.

Q2. How much mileage do we get on this bike in city riding conditions.. with bumper to bumper traffic most of the time.. (Bangalore). ?

I get a respectable 41-42 kmpl (city). Depends how you ride.

Q3. For the bike insurance, does it cover the fairing as well?

I guess its 65% on plastic parts and 90% on the rest.

Q4. Any battery issues? as this bike does not have a kick starter.

Stock battery is good enough. No starter problems. Usually the "starter" in such bikes is the most niggle free component. Problems usually occur due to the relay/fuse. Anyways, that can be discussed later.

Q5. Any known issues with the bike that I should be aware of?

Stock tires suck, especially the rear tire. Stock headlights not good enough. You can upgrade to 55W headlight. Battery change not required.

Q6. How is Hero Motocorp. after sales service?

Much better than TVS/Yamaha/BAL IMO. (Now don't fight over this. )

Q7. Can we get the bike fitted with ZMA fairing?

Then better get a ZMA instead. Its not a practical idea at all.

Any overall feedback/review would really be appreciated.

Umm, nice bike. VFM for me. Does its job well. Outshines every other bike on the highway (except CBR 250R). Yup, the Ninja is also there, but I'm not sure whether one can tour on it for 10+ hours. Its all upto the rider. People did a saddlesore on the R1!
                              Ok, sorry for the OT.

P.S - Go through my signature for the ride report. It was compiled sometime back, but should help you. Thanks.

yes, no issues...would suggest dont start bike on headlight on...it put extra pressure on battery...

nice mod..it seems to be taken from movie...

Please put some light on this guys and let me know what may have caused this.
not sure on this issue...have you check with the SVC..
