Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
True I agree!! Let me check this time just completed on tank after plug change!! Let keep an eye on few more!! Hope it increases..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostMaybe because you kept using the same spark plug for 26k kms. It's spark intensity would have worsened leading to higher fuel consumption.
Check over few full tanks now.

I dont have the return cable on my zmr..."the B cable ur talking about". ..i removed it ages agooo...doing with just one main acclerator cable...! Lets see will get it diagnosed properly from my mech..!Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostPossible. But please get the accelerator cables A and B inspected for wear too. They are known to cause lazy rev drops.
Take the A and B diagnosis before you touch the plates.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Why did you do that? Not only does it hamper normal accelerator pulley operation, it is risky too. Without a return cable, the primary one may build up stress and snap. (I may be wrong on the last part though)Originally posted by padfootmoony2006 View PostI dont have the return cable on my zmr..."the B cable ur talking about". ..i removed it ages agooo...\Got a $5 head? Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
No its wil not effect the main cable in anyway as far as i know. I removed it as it made my accelerator movement a little more smoother. And the accelerator rotor spring has enough tension to get the throttle to zero once left.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostWhy did you do that? Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Could it be possible that the spring doesn't have enough tension left now over time? Maybe cable B is now needed to shut the throttle valve. (just suggesting)Originally posted by padfootmoony2006 View PostNo its wil not effect the main cable in anyway as far as i know. If you suspect plates, then do you:
1. Feel a loss of acceleration?
2. See a drop in mileage?
3. See that Tachometer readings increase but not the speedo?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Yup bro....cud be a possibility but then..it occurs only after i ride for around 8-10 kms...not before tht....!!Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostCould it be possible that the spring doesn't have enough tension left now over time? 3. See that Tachometer readings increase but not the speedo?
1. Yes loss of acceleration felt...
2. No significant drop in mileage.
3. Tach n speedo are synced properly...5th gear 5k rpm im at 80kmph
Lets see bro il get the cable B in place again....thnx :-)

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Worked on bike early morning.
Few issues needed sorting out. Stuff like engine oil, spark plug and rear brake rattling needed a look.
Changed engine oil and spark plug. Shell AX7 (1100 ml) poured in.
This is how my spark plug looks. Perfecto! Me happy.
Now, coming to the rear disc brake rattling part. I confused it with chain (guard) noise and foot pegs rattling earlier, but it turns out its a manufacturing defect.
I do NOT have the brake pins (Spring) in place!
This is what it looks like (taken from a P220)
And the rear pads were freely rattling against the nut holding them, causing a dent on them as shown. (brown area)
And here are the rear SUPERMAN pads after ~52000 kms.
They had glazed out, sandpaper-ed them!
Have asked my mech to get the Spring for me, till then rattling continues!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Yes I tried with the Pulsar's spring and it didn't fit. Hoping to get a call from my mech regarding the same on Monday.Originally posted by shoeb2015 View PostThe spring for Nissin rear caliper is different.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I have got bored of the ZMR logo on the fairing. I have a black one bought in feb 2010. Since the day of buying, i didn't like the ZMR logo on the sides, they seem kinda over-stylish to me.
So, i was thinking of getting it removed and getting a big silver honda wing decal, like the ones on cbr600rr and fireblade etc. Can anyone photoshop such decal on a black ZMR for me, please
If i am not wrong, it should look decent enough, as well as completely change the apperance. Also, please suggest that which option is better, removing the logo completely, or just pasting the decal on top of it?
Here's the example of a black cbr600rr:

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Divya Sharan-
The rear brake pads not having the pad retaining springs means that they will be making scrapping sound for long, man how could you not recognise it.
And that pad lasting so long is no surprise at-least for me as pads life depends on usage as the ratio of braking. In my extreme bike is at 32k kms now and the rear brake a drum has never been adjusted a single time from the day i bought it. Front brake pads have been changed once at 15 k and now at 32k still have 70% pad left.
Similarly in my Joy the rear brake has not been adjusted for long and has not been changed for last 40 k kms while front brake shoe has been changed 3 times.
So my point is ultimately it leads to the way we use them and also how we maintain the bike. Regular caliper servicing and greasing of pins will ensure the pads lasts way long.
And that spark plug picture, thats the beauty of fuel injection, as we have discussed when we met, will not build carbon as fuelling is always perfect and high pressure ensure better customization of fuel. Moreover ZMR has 12 hole injector which increases the fuel atomization and also the ECU monitors the fuel perfectly.
This is why i like Hero, being an indian manufacturer quality is still the best with the foreign players. The quality is simply adictive.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time.
