    can you tell why my bike stalls at low rpm and the throttle feels sluggish at low rpm 1500 to 2000

      The only time you can actually let the engine run at a low rpm on a high gear is when you have it on the main stand without any load.

        ok from now i will shift gears at higher rpm, its difficult for me in start but slowly i will get used to it, i think so and possibly this is the only reason why my bike stalls at low rpms, the idle rmp keeps on shifting it does not remain constant due to carbon deposit the fi holes get blocked and cause turbo lag
        m i right ?

        I just didn't like the additional vibes at 4000 rpm, and would always shift at 3000 rpm.



        same problem is with me i also don't like too much vibration because it gives the feeling that we are forcing the engine and if we will do that it will not give significant avg

          4000 rpm for zmr's engine isnt stressful.. .. hell it isnt stressful for 125cc bikes..
          Vibes are part and parcel for all bikes
          Talking about vibes zmr has none vibes when compared to others..
          And other thing brother if you wanted mileage why not by a passion etc?
          Why drive zmr like 125cc bike and ruin engine in name of mileage ?!

            If you pull sanely, shifting should be done at 3.5k rpm. If you are pulling hard with a pillion, start shifting at 4k rpm. Engine lugs below 3k rpm and its not good for engine. We shouldn't compare the bike engines to cars. Cars have bigger engines with torque spread in the lower rpms, as low as 1k. Don't follow car's shifting methods.

              Bike stalling at low rpms is common for all. It's your fault. Not the bike's. Try changing your riding style ASAP if you want your bike to survive. If you needed mileage, you could have gone for a 125cc bike.

                For god's sake, our engine idles at 1300-1400 RPM and you want to up-shift/ride at that point?

                Well first things first!

                1. Our bikes aren't turbo charged! Hence no turbo lag. Its just that you're not riding in the bike's power band.
                2. Injector holes can get blocked due to bad/adulterated petrol too. Get the injector cleaned if you feel it is blocked and use Iftex System G for 2-3k kms.

                Most importantly, up-shift @ 4000 RPM or later. If the bike vibrates a lot, it needs you need to tighten few nuts and bolts. We'll see that later.

                    brother idling stalling is a problem, imagine when u r turning your bike on a u turn and your bike stalls suddenly its my problem or bikes ? its my 2nd zmr i did 32000k on my first zmr in that also i used to ride like this only i had no problems at all....
                    my idle rpm is not constant
                    and ya avg....i don't care at all, all i want is to my bike perform smooth and well that's all, it sucks when you start your bike in front of some one and it starts and the stops immediately, and then on a second attempt it takes too long to start, and then even then after starting it makes dhag dhag sound as if there is no petrol in bike it happens when the engine is cold
                    i own a suzuki haya bussa it gives avg of 11kmpl and i am least concerned about it....

                      Hello all!!

                      Its been quite a long time since I logged into xBhp.. Was busy with my Personal Life and was on a pretty decent (long) vacation to Chennai

                      I was riding my bro's Hunk for almost 10 days including a Long ride to Metupalayam to meet my Fiance.. totaling 1200 kms

                      The bike was too good and too smooth.. gear shifts were just perfect.. the bike is more than 7 years old and completed 37000 kms only.. before the ride, i changed the Clutch Plates and rear tires.. front tires did their job and still can do another 3000 kms.. Did constant 80-95 kmph and topped at 120 kmph on the speedo..

                      There was this Fazer and FZ-S who were speeding. I just wanted to check the speeds compared to the Yamaha bikes.. we were together throughout.. Though I felt some power loss in up-slopes and on flats the power was normal. that's when I caught up with him again.. oh Yes.. the speedo on my bike showed 115 kmph and on his bike, it showed 130kmph.. will there be this much of difference in Speedo Error??

                      FZ-S was slower than the Fazer on Highways.. i beat him easily..

                      The bike never felt lazy or loss in power throughout the ride and even after I reached home, i was able to shoot a wheelie after riding 580 kms..

                      Well, Why I am saying this here is, after riding Hunk, my bike feels too harsh.. The gear shifts are hard.. finding the neutral became a pain.. and after the engine heats up, the bike loses its power.. what could be the reason.. I felt Hunk is much smoother and Highway friendly now

                      I wanna get my bike back on its legs. I have a long solo ride planned to meet my fiance in the coming months.. I want my Black Pearl to be at its best.. after riding my ZMR for about 100 kms, there is loss in power and I can easily feel it.. and now after riding Hunk, it is clearly visible.. Suggestions are welcome...

                      BTW, I am using Shell AX7...

                        Obviously if you are taking a turn at such low rpms, you wil make the engine go off. Second zmr is it? Do you know how very different each bike is, compared to another of the same model?

                          Hi All,

                          My ZMR is again facing engine stall problem from last 15-20 days...what i notice is once the engine get heat up and uses clutch much higher i.e in Traffic Jam the engine start giving knocking in every gear...and during ride at any time engine stall....to start it i give a acceleration with start button...

                          Now on last Friday; i was on Dhola Kuan - Gurgoun express way; there was huge jam...and on mahipalpur flyover when my ZMR stop...i start the bike but no response..even now with acceleration it was not starting...it do earlier...but this time this does not work...

                          There was an HM work shop there..i start moving there...then someone offered an help..i site on bike and he push my bike from his bike...after several attempt my bike start..and i skip going to service center...as i was getting late for the Interview ...

                          During weekend not got time to go SVC for the inspection....please suggest what could be the reason....

                            Turn in too slow (at low RPMs), any bike would stall. This is a part of ABC of riding. ABC = Accelerator, Brake, Clutch.

                            First of all, congratulations!

                            Secondly, Hunks/Xtremes/Unicorns are smoother than Karizmas.

                            Ride another well maintained Karizma to identify potential problems. Get the clutch cables, Accelerator cables A and B lubed and set at the right play, get air filter and spark plugs checked.
                            Ensure you have proper cold tire pressure. Finally look at the sprockets and clutch + pressure plates if the need be.

                              Turn off the ignition, keep your hand on the Fuel Pump and turn on the ignition.. check if the fuel pump is working.. if it is not working, there is a guy near Lakshmi Nagar where he services Fuel Pumps.. he will ask for 1000/- and he will open the Fuel pump and see what the problem is and he gives 2 months warranty.. of course, it is worth it.. let me know if you are able to feel the Fuel pump working or not..

                              The bike always lost power after the engine heats up.. I guess I raised this query before when I said I am unable to lift the front tire after the engine heats up.. Just not sure why i hear that tap tap sound ( engine knocking I believe) after the engine heats up..

                                Tappet clearance normal? Get it set at the exhaust valves. Though the manual says 0.1 mm for both intake and exhaust, you can keep the exhaust clearance at 0.09.
