    Hello all!!

Its been quite a long time since I logged into xBhp.. Was busy with my Personal Life and was on a pretty decent (long) vacation to Chennai

I was riding my bro's Hunk for almost 10 days including a Long ride to Metupalayam to meet my Fiance.. totaling 1200 kms

The bike was too good and too smooth.. gear shifts were just perfect.. the bike is more than 7 years old and completed 37000 kms only.. before the ride, i changed the Clutch Plates and rear tires.. front tires did their job and still can do another 3000 kms.. Did constant 80-95 kmph and topped at 120 kmph on the speedo..

There was this Fazer and FZ-S who were speeding. I just wanted to check the speeds compared to the Yamaha bikes.. we were together throughout.. Though I felt some power loss in up-slopes and on flats the power was normal. that's when I caught up with him again.. oh Yes.. the speedo on my bike showed 115 kmph and on his bike, it showed 130kmph.. will there be this much of difference in Speedo Error??

FZ-S was slower than the Fazer on Highways.. i beat him easily..

The bike never felt lazy or loss in power throughout the ride and even after I reached home, i was able to shoot a wheelie after riding 580 kms..

Well, Why I am saying this here is, after riding Hunk, my bike feels too harsh.. The gear shifts are hard.. finding the neutral became a pain.. and after the engine heats up, the bike loses its power.. what could be the reason.. I felt Hunk is much smoother and Highway friendly now

I wanna get my bike back on its legs. I have a long solo ride planned to meet my fiance in the coming months.. I want my Black Pearl to be at its best.. after riding my ZMR for about 100 kms, there is loss in power and I can easily feel it.. and now after riding Hunk, it is clearly visible.. Suggestions are welcome...

BTW, I am using Shell AX7...
See i told you that a well maintained hunk/extreme will be much fun to ride.

A well maintained extreme will easily beat any other 150 cc bikes. And yes the extreme/hunks meters are pretty accurate.

The new model extreme and hunks which have digital meters are perfect accurate with GPS like ZMR. And i have hit true speed of 120 kph on it which speaks a lot about its performance.

And Fz/Fazer have lots of low end torque which helps in up hill climb but after 6.5k rpm extreme just trumps it and pulls gap easily.

The main reason why extreme is not seen as performance bike is that you have explained is that they show less speed compared to other bikes speedometer. But the reality is that they are more faster than competitor.

Karizma/ ZMR are smoother at high rpms but the extreme/ hunks roars after 6k rpm which i personally like.

Remember the extreme uses 128 main jet larger than karizma and also runs rocker arm of bearing type which makes them smoother and revs freely.

As to your ZMR feeling rough and knocking, i would advice to do a complete servicing of bike.

List of things to do are:-

    1. Check the tappets and adjust to 0.09 mm on both.

    2. Check the spark plug and if old change it.

    3. Check the air filter.

    4. The most important bit since ZMR is tuned little lean check the injectors for blockage. Open the injector and clean it at car injector servicing center.

    5. Check the fuel filter for any dirt and clean it also.

And i do not know but all others are saying that you are engaged so if it is true then Congrats from me and also a happy new side of life.

And man you are from delhi and your fiance from other end. Hats off!.

Thank you for the suggestions.. I will look into it this weekend. Problem is, I don't have a shed or a garage to do a DIY as I had in Chennai.. so it is impossible for me to open my bike in a dark basement with very little light..

I am engaged I am basically from Chennai, residing in New Delhi as my dad got his posting here.. but yes, planning for a Solo ride to meet her soon and hence want my Black Pearl to perform better without those silly knocking sound which I never faced with the Hunk..

I love the beat of Hunk at speeds above 70 kmph.. the bass.. wow.. Simply loved it it was my first long ride on a Hunk.. My bro doesn't use it much. just for local rides.. like dropping my niece or going to get milk blah blah.. bike has completed only 38500 kms.. that too because I did most of the riding whenever I visited Chennai..

Ya the roar after 70 kph is excellent in extreme but the problem is that after that it gulps fuel like crazy. See the 28mm carb with 128 size main jet gives a thrill when we twist the throttle but also drinks fuel like cold drinks.

Extreme/hunk is one of the best 150 cc and in performance is just above all in that price range.

Ya do it all in a garage and pay special attention to injector cleaning.

And ya divya is right, you are doomed. Riding with you, is alright because till now she is in GF mode. Let her come into Wife mode.

And @Divya Sharan ,you are talking as if you are not going to marry your girl. Is that so in really. Will have to inform your girl somehow.

          And something for @rrneave1987:-

hi all,i don't own ZMR but Glamour FI.just putting this question here since ZMR and Glamour FI both have fuel injection system

                  1. have u ever tried to clean the fuel delivery unit ( fuel pump, fuel hose, fuel injector, intake valve ) by using any fuel injector cleaner which comes as a petrol additive ?
                  2. is it safe to use them in motorcycles ?
                  3. Does it really increase the fuel consumption ?
                  4. how much do i need to pour in to my 12L tank ( i've checked an ABRO FI cleaner and all it says is it treats up to 20 gallons, does it mean that we can use entire bottle for 12L tank )

                  thank you very much.

Iftex System G - 1ML to every Litre of petrol.

#4 : Convert 20 gallons to litres to find out the amount you need.

I've been using it(System G) for the past three tank fills.. Mileage has increased by around 3-4 kms per litre. Use it at the rate of 1ML/L.

What do you mean untill the bottle ends? The bottle is of 200ml quantity.. So you can use it for 200 litres.

I have used one full bottle till now. My usage is extensive since I tour frequently. 1ml per liter is added every time I refuel. So, yes you can keep doing it until the bottle ends.
At least, do it for 2-3k kms continuously.
