Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Just saw the new ZMR in the showroom. It definitely looks better than the pics atleast..
The bike was just being unloaded from the lorry.. So couldn't get to test ride it.
Few observations:
1. The pilot lamps looked absolutely stunning. (similar to the color of BMW DRLs..)
2. Rear tyre is a 120mm MRF Zapper-C.
3. The instrument console looks rich and has a better finish than our bikes.
4. The red line was at 8.2k rpm.. (I'm skeptical about this)
5. Rear seat is not very comfortable, raised too high.
6. Tail lamp looked better than our bikes. A neat strip of LEDs.
7. The bike looked better from the rear. Front headlight assembly is an absolute disaster.

The PDF, however, sports a CEAT tyre (rear). A 'Heroic' goof-up I guess.Originally posted by kmk0311 View PostJust saw the new ZMR in the showroom. It definitely looks better than the pics atleast..

Interesting! So they lifted the console of old gen ZMRs and plonked it on the new one. Hmm...Originally posted by kmk0311 View Post4. The red line was at 8.2k rpm.. (I'm skeptical about this)
But max power @8000 makes no sense then.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
friends have you see this post I was just searching a possibility for ABS for our ZMR and got this at In a first, TVS plans to offer ABS in 2-wheelers - Page 3 - Team-BHP
Is it really true???
Has anyone tried this thing on his ZMR???
If its really true then its a boon for us I think Divya Sharan abhi7013 sibun padfootmoony2006 please share your views and experiences...

Mechanical ABS. Not worth it. Saferide ABS also created ripples initially, but a sensor based ABS is what can be relied upon, not a mechanical one!Originally posted by Dr.Hemant Gajendra View PostHas anyone tried this thing on his ZMR???

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I'd rather use the term 'dangerous'.. Since you are fiddling around with a stock system, that too the breaking of the bike. Not worth it i'd say. A sensor based would be miles ahead as it would prevent the wheel spins when you are cornering, effective breaking, etc etc. And i doubt if a sensor based ABS can be installed in our bikes. Even if one is ready to change the discs to the ones having ABS rings, i doubt if the system could be installed. It's not impossible though.Originally posted by Dr.Hemant Gajendra View Postfriends have you see this post I was just searching a possibility for ABS for our ZMR and got this at In a first, TVS plans to offer ABS in 2-wheelers - Page 3 - Team-BHP

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I specifically double checked the tyre.. It was the Zapper-C..Originally posted by RaajD View PostThe PDF, however, sports a CEAT tyre (rear). A 'Heroic' goof-up I guess.
I maybe wrong about this, though the redline was at 8k rpm..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostInteresting! So they lifted the console of old gen ZMRs and plonked it on the new one. Hmm...

Maybe the bike could rev higher, Maybe the factory guys forgot to paint the red line a little up ahead. Maybe the used the same old console

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
hi guys i am new here and i just want your help.i am thinking of buying the new karizma zmr 2014 and i am a little confused about the fuel injection system ,although i have heard about the merits about the fi system but iam also quite worried if goes down when i am touring in the mountains and i have heard that it cannot be repaired by any ordainary mechanic and need specially trained personnel to maintain and repair so can you guys tell me what are the chances of a fi sytem going bad and breaking and if that happens can we do something to revive it in an emergency and what can be the preacautions one can take to make sure it doesnt go bad.help me guys i am really worried about this issue!!!

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
In fi systems, the fuel pump is the only part that has a chance to fail. But never have i till date come across any bike wherein the fuel pump gave up. You can ask this query in the CBR and R15 threads too just to make sure. To be on a safer side, i even considered replacing the pump when i hit 60-70k kms. But that's still far so no issues. My advice: Inquire in the mentioned threads and if you get a positive response, close your eyes and buy it.Originally posted by Prateekjayant View Posthi guys i am new here and i just want your help.i am thinking of buying the new karizma zmr 2014 and i am a little confused about the fuel injection system ,although i have heard about the merits about the fi system but iam also quite worried if goes down when i am touring in the mountains and i have heard that it cannot be repaired by any ordainary mechanic and need specially trained personnel to maintain and repair so can you guys tell me what are the chances of a fi sytem going bad and breaking and if that happens can we do something to revive it in an emergency and what can be the preacautions one can take to make sure it doesnt go bad.help me guys i am really worried about this issue!!!ZMR- PGMFI re-defined
