Re: karizma ZMR Front shocker
HI Jack Daniel,Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostThere's nothing wrong wid the ZMR's seating posture, trust me. Ride another 100km & all probs will vanish. I also suffered from wrist pains (no back pains though) in the 1st 500 kms. After dat, all probs have vanished for me.
Moreover, in ZMR (although its a sportsbike) is designed more to be a sports-cum-tourer. So, u're on the bike unlike other sportsbikes where u're in the bike. So, u'll notice that we don't need any tank pads as the tank is completely flat.
yeah i can feel the pain in the wrist while accelerating the bike , anyways say u suggested i will not gonna make any changes to the bike. Hope the wrist pain will vanish in some more time.
i agree with all you guys that karizma zmr is one of the most comfortable sports bike currently in the market.
Lets ride it more and hope for the best....
Thanks for advice....

Hi AmoghDox,Originally posted by AmoghDox View PostGrabbing the tank with both legs makes you sit more upright as front fenders has provision to gives better grips to your legs, however it depends on person to person as far as the sitting position concerns, I would advice you not to change the handle bar neither the front suspensions which will change the stock riding/handling geometry.
thanks for advice , i am not gonna change any thing on my bike .... Lets ride it for more days and lets see what happen ... I hope the engine will get more smothen up once i will get it serviced...
I wll give it for service tommorow...

Hi Sounakray..Originally posted by sounakray View PostWell, when i first rode it, even I found ZMR's sitting posture slightly forward inclined, and the foot pegs a bit rearwards set. But that is totally because I'm used to a Honda Unicorn since last 8 years (which is an 150cc commuter bike, and has one of the most upright sitting postures), and not because there's something wrong with the ZMR. In fact the most important reason of my choosing the ZMR was it's riding comfort. Otherwise I would have gone with the R15, or the CBR 250 (budget permitting).
Now with 700+ km on my ZMR I feel it's as comfortable as a sports tourer can get!
I used to get back pains after 30 mins on my unicorn, but today only I rode my ZMR for more than an hour without any pain any where

yeah i too choose the ZMR because of it comfortable sitting. previously i was going for Bullet Electra , but because of long waiting period i droped the idea of buying a bullet. I hope i ride will get comfortable as i will keep it riding. I am also experiencing little wrist pain while riding it , hope that too will vanish with time..... Thanks for advicee .

Thanks divya for the video. is there any significant difference in mileage or power delivery. Whats the mileage above 90 without snorkel and with snorkel

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Well, not much difference w.r.t stock except sound. I kept this setup (without the snorkel) for 5k kms and then got bored. Moreover, since I tour from time to time, I found the sound irritating. Low end *felt* better then. But after fitting the snorkel back, I felt the performance was the same!Originally posted by vijaycool View PostThanks divya for the video. is there any significant difference in mileage or power delivery. Putting my observation from the 5k kms without the snorkel:
(with snorkel)
Mileage figures below 80 kmph in city = 43-45 kmpl
Mileage figures over 80 kmph (till 100 kmph) on highways = 46-48 kmpl
(without snorkel)
Mileage figures below 80 kmph in city = 43-45 kmpl
Mileage figures over 80 kmph (till 100 kmph) on highways = 46-50 kmpl (saw a 2 kmpl increase on long rides, but that sound began irritating me)Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: karizma ZMR Front shocker
Agreed.. I used this setup for just 2 weeks and got fed up with the sound and put it back. felt the smoothness of the bike and loved it more without the noise.. besides with that sound, it just made me red line the bike oftenOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostWell, not much difference w.r.t stock except sound. the initial did seem better when the snorkel was initially removed but after fitting it back, i felt it was mind playing the game and the sound made the mind game a winner.
mileage wise i never checked but did find a drop. Reason?? well.. the main reason would be like I said, i kept red lining the bike in all the gears possible meaning I was screwing my bike as i got addicted to the sound.
If you want a loud sound. I suggest you remove the exhaust systemOriginally posted by Raja Saiyan View PostGonna leave my bike for third service... was wondering Just how loud will my bike get once the snorkle is removed?? as you all knew I had a bored 160 FI before my current ZMR and I miss the loud sound that it made... will it be as loud as a K&N ? or even more??
Don't take it serious. the sound is as good as the KnN and removing the snorkel is safer as the stock Air filter does its job perfectly filtering the air..

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Just rode for 20 kms yesterday and due to heat the engine turned off. It happened when I held the clutch. Its happening like this for quite some time. Is it the fuel pump?

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I think the best way to test the performance with/without snorkel is reset the ecu run few 100 kms with snorkel, then reset ecu remove snorkel and run for few 100 kms. This way ecu can adjust the mixture properly. Does anyone have obd tool for checking and resetting error codes

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
yes, sounds like an issue with the Fuel Pump.. I remember the only problem that the fuel pump can have is the brushes going kaput and needs replacement. psr sir can give you some guidance regarding this. get your bike in good condition before you plan for that ride in Jan. Take careOriginally posted by abhi7013 View PostJust rode for 20 kms yesterday and due to heat the engine turned off. It happened when I held the clutch. Its happening like this for quite some time. Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
You can do it yourself. the snorkel is just a plug and play sorta stuff.. remove the seat, and pull out the snorkel with your bare hands. not a difficult task.. at-least not for you dude..Originally posted by Raja Saiyan View Postwill the Service center guys do it? or should I go to an outside workshop??? and will the outside workshop guy know whats a snorkel

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Its simple DIY stuff.Originally posted by Raja Saiyan View Postwill the Service center guys do it? or should I go to an outside workshop??? and will the outside workshop guy know whats a snorkel
Open the seat. You'll see a pipe like structure going into the air filter box. It is fixed using sticky glue, so apply some force on the visible end and it'll come off.

One can buy OBD scanner for checking values from the ECU but I doubt one can reset error codes/flags by himself. It is the onus of the SVC to do the same since they're supposed to be equipped with relevant tools, but you know the state of things in India. Whenever a senior engineer comes flying from DL, he carries those stuff.Originally posted by vijaycool View PostI think the best way to test the performance with/without snorkel is reset the ecu run few 100 kms with snorkel, then reset ecu remove snorkel and run for few 100 kms.
