Guys I crashed on my way to Gokarna today. Stacks of hay were thrown all over the road at a state highway near Sirsi and the bike skid badly. Left fairing, my helmet and left knee guard are scratched. I hope scratches from the fairing can be removed. I'm fine and I did the remaining 100 kms to Gokarna. Will be back tomorrow. Can't stress how important riding gears are!

Woohooo, tapatalk works on my phone!

Glad no major damages. Psd or other race pattern tires are not at all usefull for our country. Puncture wala told these pattern skid like crazy if u brake over sand which is available in plenty on our roads. Meteor or moto D pattern is what we need. Is this available for 18 incher

If you break in sand.... any tire cant protect you..... Moto D pattern will reduce bike performance and not at all good for touring as it will decrease mileage and top speed.... Have been using PSD since last 3 yrs and have done nearly every terrain on them...... I believe it was just a matter of sheer bad day with good luck since nothing major happened and Divya is fine.... ride safe.....

Thanks guys. I'm fine. Getting ready for the return journey now. Had I seen hay, I'd have slowed down.
Its part of a bigger story. I was following a bolero in state/country roads. There was approx 20 feet distance between us and I was in 60s when this bolero skids and goes off-road. I slam both brakes but alas both of us were too fast as we'd hit hay on road. I was thrown off. Bolero suffered a rim bend and a broken axle/differential due to it going offroad and stopping into a 3 to 4 feet deep ditch. Anyways, lesson learnt. I'll avoid state highways from my next trip.

I am using psd for my pulsar last 25k kms. Chennai has a layer of sand even on bitumen road. Any chennai guys aware of. A slight dip in mileage is fine as long as safety is concerned

I used PSD for 19k kms myself. Grippy tire. But its like a normal tire in rains. It slips at times. Sort of hydroplanes. But you're safe. It doesn't rain as often in Chennai as in KA.

The bike-full day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The entire day yesterday totally circled around bikes for me! It first started with a quick solo trip to Lonavala (65 km away from my place in Pune) on my new ZMR.
This I had been planning with two objectives in mind - firstly to get a first hand feel on how the bike performs on long rides, and secondly to click some pics with nice backgrounds. The first objective was fulfilled; the second not so much. I got to click very few photos, and they are here (BTW, for the record, the only living creature in the album isn't me ): https://plus.google.com/app/basic/ph...33810241247729https://plus.google.com/app/basic/ph...33388835659761
And after attending this show we decided to end this already great day by watching Dhoom 3
With very low expectations from the movie, I must admit I found it quite entertaining! The first part was so ridiculously unrealistic that it became fun to watch! The second part was entertaining because of both the storyline and Amir's superb acting!
All in all, a total bike-full day! Wouldn't you agree?
