Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Yesterday night, when I was riding with another ZMR, the clutch cable of ZMR snapped. We were near a small town, and availability of ZMR's clutch cable was completely ruled out. We took the bike to a small Hero workshop (luckily was open at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday) and was wondering how could they rectify it. The mechanic there just got an autos metal clutch cable which has more length than the ZMRs and the lock nut was given separately to lock it at whichever length one needs. Then, the mechanic just pulled out the snapped "metal' cable (only metal cable, the outer tube was kept intact) from the outer tube and inserted the new metal wire directly into it. The excess length of the wire was cut and locked with the lock nut. All this took just few minutes and very very minor effort. We were really surprised and happy that the clutch cable was corrected without the need to remove the fairing.
The ZMR owners can now carry a cutting player and scooter/auto metal cable with them in case the clutch cable is snapped. This metal wire is packed in a very small cover and occupies only a small portion in your luggage, and you can repair the clutch cable without removing the side cowls yourselves. I found this to be the best solution in emergencies. One can replace with original cable at their convenience later.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
hey buddy.. yes.. this is possible on all bikes as well.. the same happened with my friend's ZMR when I was there for a visit in Chennai.. he just took my bro's hunk and told me to fix it.. i went to my mechanic and he did the same thing.. but this is just a work around and not a permanent solution.. use it till you can get the original part as it is not as reliable..Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostYesterday night, when I was riding with another ZMR, the clutch cable of ZMR snapped. Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Is Zapper Q - tubeless?? When I had my rear tyre changed 2-3 months then it was tube type..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostSeems like I'd be changing both tires soon for my bike. 7 wheel locks in 2 days upon braking is getting on my nerves. Only saving grace, I didn't fall.
Looking for MRF Zapper FQ for front (same make as R15's, but in 18 inches) - thanks @ravi@17bhp for this and MRF Zapper Q (110/90-18 TL) or MTR (100/90-18 TT)for the rear.
