Divya Sharan and rreneav1987- thanks for the suggestion. Shall do it. Shall take a pic of the spark plug and also shall see if there is any smoke coming out. Till now I didn't observe any though.

Please tell me what all things that the mech has to inspect. Am strongly suspecting radiator or some problem inside the engine. Cause the smell is similar to burnt oil. Btw, oil is not old.

I would request you to do another test. While you have opened the spark plug just using a torch having pencil beam focus through the spark plug hole into the combustion chamber, if the piston is not at top then shift to fifth gear and slowly rotate the wheel till piston comes to top. Check the top of piston how is the carbon deposit, if it is thick then it is not allowing the heat from combustion chamber to get transferred to piston and finally to outside which is causing the problem, next keep on rotating the wheel and you will see the valves opening and check each valve for any pitting on the seat.

Moreover if tappets has been adjusted at ASC then get it checked with feeler gauge as those idiots would have tightened it too much.

These are just my suggestions, so please have a look at these.

Maybe you don't ride enough for the battery to charge/retain charge. I'm still on stock battery! Wonder how come most OE fitments are still there on the bike. lolz.

Like I said in a previous post.. some spare parts of your bike are immortal

you are blessed my dear friend.. you are truly blessed as for me.. I have changed 2 rear brake pads and 2 front brake pad till now.. the chain set once.. air filter once.. gonna change it soon before the next tour.. got the clutch cable changed before completing 10000kms as the cable bent due to a fall and had to get it changed..

changed the front and rear tires at 22500kms and boy I just love riding my black pearl and never got bored till now I will have to soon change the fairing set and I am hoping the refresh ZMR's fairing is a direct fit and i am praying it looks good enough

Wow, you've changed almost everything! Hope your engine stays OE all the time!
I'm somehow still surviving on:
Stock - rear brake pads, clutch plates, battery, front tire, all plastics etc.

Changed the rear tire, AF (thrice), spark plug (twice) and sprocket kit along with other consumables once. I just hope they last forever.

Same as mine. I do 48 kms daily. The point is what RPM do you maintain? If you do 20 kms one way at <4k RPM, battery won't charge.

Mine ZMR ride is in City...sometime there is traffic...and in rear case i shall find a open road to drive more then 80 km....and i usually run near to 60km speed...

V2 saw light after I got my ZMR. But still I love d ZMR for it's performance. V2 is a total package. No use in saying strained 150 cc always. Coz their engine parts are 100000000X better than the ZMR'.

Also, is there any option the adjust the height of the front shocks? Coz adjusting the height + removing the front numberplate mount will perfectly do the trick. Fender will not strike anywhere, and also no change in seating posture too. Effect will be same as we apply the brakes. THink yourselves
I would just like to know, on what basis you are comparing quality of both engines??
after riding both bikes extensively I can say both bikes have great engines, ZMR already has a proven gem of a Honda engine..though in my opinion what is the major difference between both engines is that R15 has an LC'ed engine..that makes it less strained even after tuning it for higher power from an engine having lesser displacement. apart from that, ZMR has an advantage in its engine.

Yes, it needs ~4K RPM to charge the battery. Basically you need to do 64 in 5th within city. Drop a gear. Do 60 in 4th. Or 50 in 3rd. Better, if possible; take her out on a highway for 20-30 kms and ride over 70 kmph for around half an hour. She'll be charged!

ZMA/ZMR starts charging right from idling RPM....want proof...start the engine and let it idle..Put the probes of a Multimeter and see for yourself....it will be from 13.7 ~ 14.3 Volts DC..At 3,000 RPM the coils can work at it's maximum capacity of 188 watts(Appr 15 amps) in ZMA and 18 Amps in ZMR...
It is the continued charge that is required by the Lead acid cell that makes the difference...My Amaron 9 AH battery is 2 yrs old...I use the bike for 8~10 Kms on weekends for the past 6 months and never faced starting or charging problems....
