    You mean Veedol Super Swift? I've tried to get it, its really hard to find..
    As far as I know, for Hero the oil supplier is Tide Water Oil Co.
    Trust me, the oil is a gem for 800-900 kms. After which I HAVE to change it. Whenever I used to change it every 1000 kms, it used to be black as tar..
    I always kept the oil level in check, always used to keep it in max level. So what you assumed is wrong.

    Are there any other suggestions for 10W30 grade??
    nope. i didnt try any other brands. and tide water is the manufacturer of Veedol and hero has other manufactures also like Savitha Chemicals.
    i meant Veedol Take off 4T premium. never go for super swift...its 10W40. even i tried to get agip and veedol in chennai. but no luck.Even shell has 10W30 but bit hard to get.try in shell petrol bulk.

    But iam happy with hero oil and so i settled myself with it.

    BWT keeping the oil level above the upper level mark will reduce the performance.

      Shell doesn't have 10w30. Tried in two petrol bunks.. Never kept the oil level above the upper mark, just at the max level.

        did you try in porur..after DLF..? i have seen some.

              Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

              Shell advertises AX7 as the one for high performance motorcycles and it is available only in 10W40. AX5 is for 'standard' motorcycles. I used it for my scooty once. But yes, that is available in 10W30.

                Are you kidding my friend??? Hero engine oil is better than Shell AX7????? I totally disagree with you on this point, I have been using it for last 2 years / more than 20K KMs and the bike is as smooth as it can be... I was forced to change the oil to Veedol Super Swift as Shell oils are not available in West Bengal....

                  it depends on your preference. i prefer revving friendly oil with slight compromise in vibration.

                  And technically 10W30 is more revving friendly than 10W40 for hero bikes.

                    During high temperatures in summer at around 50 deg Cels... 10W40 is more fruitful than 10W30... Moreover few years back for some unknown reason Hero Honda downgraded the engine oil grade to 10W30.....

                      yea. i agree on that. what i presume/trust is that hero should have done all the testings and the results were under acceptable limit, in this case, heat generation.

                      actually i dont care much about heat generation until it affects performance. so far i never felt drop in performance over long run.
                      what is important for me is revving capability. and hero oil serves me well for the past 3 years.

                      i dont want to put unnecessary strain (due to high grade) on engine for the sake of engine heat (which is considered to be within permissible limit by the hero engineers).

                      this is my thought and i dont want to stress on others.

                        I have to admit that whenever the rpm goes above 5-6k in any gear, the engine sounds totally unrefined. Not only in the early morning hours but always. Oil might be a reason. Any other reasons that you guys may suspect?

                          iam 200% confident that if you switch over to 10W30....your bike will become fine.

                                many guys are using Veedol 10W30 andi heard many positive results...in fact veedol is also supplier for hero. try shell AX5 though i dont have any experience with it.

                                you mean the additive..? no idea bro. haven't used....but i have never added any additive in the oil.
