      afaik, if it is a viscous type we cant clean, atleast it wont give benefit. replacing it will be a better option. in chennai as u know much dusty, replacing it befor 10000KM is advisable.

          this happened to me . if the air filter is choked, then there wont be sufficient air to aid combustion.

          this will give 'no petrol' effect while giving throttle. for me, i was not able to go beyond 50kmph and if i give throttle further it will fumble and give ' no petrol effect'. then i changed filter, back to life.

          As per my experience this could be the problem ur are facing. change it and check.

          BTW air filter wont cost more than 100 bucks.

            I was just saying that we will have to remove the dust captured by the Air Filter every 2000 kms before replacement. as in the interval of 2000 kms instead of not at all cleaning it til you replace..

              the problem is dust will get accumulated in the oil so it is not possible to remove.

                But I AM able to go to speeds like 100 and all. Only at 4k rpm at all gears I'm experiencing the no petrol effect like you mentioned..

                        Back to riding. Felt good!

                        Last weekend had me doing a 1000 km trip to Gokarna. One issue though, I got the cone set changed but still there is a loud khat sound upon hard breaking/rough roads. What can it be?

                        Reneav bro, can you send across the courier (rear spring)?

                          Glad to see you hit the road again.
                          Loose cone set/damaged bearing or cone is a possibility. Hold the front wheel, push it and check for any movement.

                              By Hero, yes. Reduce the interval progressively if you stay/ride in dusty places. I stick to 8k kms for Bangalore.

                                sounds like a loose cone set.. get them to tighten it properly.. it will be fine..
