Bro the issue at hand is electrical. Cause the revs are bouncing. Disconnect the ECU and inspect contacts then properly connect it back. Also suspect other electrical components as well.Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostI suspect overtighten tappets!

Dual headlamps.
Has anyone thought of dual headlamps? I'm sure it can be done Ninja ishtyle?
What will be required apart from making changes to the reflector and letting in 2 power sources for the lamps?
I shall upgrade to a 9 AH MF soon. Hence, thought of this mod.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

not sure on ninja style headlight...as for upgrading battery can be moved to Amaron 9 amp....for that you need to modify the battery cage as well as wiring too....Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostHas anyone thought of dual headlamps? I'm sure it can be done Ninja ishtyle?

How much it cost ?Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostYes it is Mobil FS 10W40 is the best and it will last for around 6k kms,
May be , will get them checked too . Work in progress will give update .Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostI suspect overtighten tappets!
Does the engine heat up excessively, then it is an indication of overtighten tappets! Replace the air filter pipe too..
ECU , Ignition Coil , fuel pump already checked but nothing worked . Will give update when i get any .Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostBro the issue at hand is electrical. If you want clean yourself, you need to remove the lower chain cover and clean it with some kerosene or Diesel using a soft-bristled brush. Let the chain dry, and then use a chain spray (OKS or Motul or TriboCor). These chain sprays are sticky even at high temperatures, unlike the engine oil lube or the SAE90 lube. With chain cover on, a spray will protect the chain for at least 2000k kms. I experienced this myself once on a 2000-km ride with high speed cruising.Originally posted by blizarder View PostHello guys. I need to lubricate the chain by myself. Is there any specific product to do this cleaning and lubricating part? and how often do we need to lubricate the chain(when the chain guard is removed and viceversa), are there any specific pointers which indicate the chain needs to be lubricated? please enlighten me.
You will get OKS chain spray in Ranigunj. 350 rupees per a can, comes for at least 10 sprays.

Yup, I've heard a lot about Mobil 10w40... Will try it next month...Originally posted by Dan_GP View PostYes it is Mobil FS 10W40 is the best and it will last for around 6k kms, oil level doesn't drop significantly(you dont need to top up), I've been using this for the past 35k kms on my ZMR, did and do extensive extreme riding, sometimes even 600kms without any break, more than 1200kms a day, at a stretch, and still engine makes the same sound as the first day.. Kudos to Mobil 10W40 FS
Ps: started using this oil after trying Motul FS and Shell FS, after ridden the bike with mineral for the first 4000kms, never dissapointed till, bike ridden for 39k+ kms now!
Great... Are they available off the shelf? Any idea how much it may cost?Originally posted by veryhiphop View Postnot sure on ninja style headlight...as for upgrading battery can be moved to Amaron 9 amp....for that you need to modify the battery cage as well as wiring too....

Hmm... Won't 2 H7 projectors be an overkill?Originally posted by Above_All View PostYes i am thinking to add 2 H7 projectors in the horn opening , will hunt them once my issue get solved
Bro, I used OKS till sometime back. Followed the same steps as you mentioned but it lasted 900 od kms only... I mean, I went for an 800 km trip to Yercaud from Chennai and when I returned I checked the chain. It was totally dry!Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostIf you want clean yourself, you need to remove the lower chain cover and clean it with some kerosene or Diesel using a soft-bristled brush. I put the spray again.... But for normal city usage, I lube the chain every 1200-1500 kms.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

and regarding the spark plug. The owner manual says the air filter and the spark plug should be replaced every 12000kms. During my recent service I asked the senior mechanic the same, he said it depends on the condition of the same two units. After inspection he said the air filter needs to be replaced and the spark plug need not be. Have any one has any idea about this one? I am running at 14500 on odometer currently.

Same here... There was not a millimeter of rubber left on the pads and metal was scraping against metal... I'm glad that the disc is ok... Had a ridden a few hundred kms with that setup, I'm sure the disc would have gone for a toss!Originally posted by blizarder View PostI too had the same problem. The rear discs were completely gone.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

For the 9 AH MF, we need to change the battery cage.Originally posted by siddhesh View Postwiring as in???
Either get a new one made/welded as per proportions
OR (better idea)
Get a 06 Model ZMA battery cage.
The 9 AH battery is a direct fit in the 06 Model ZMA cage.
By wiring changes, he probably meant extending the extending wire length (as it is really short and may not reach the terminals of the battery in the extending cage)
The following pics should guide you. (Sriram sir's 2011 ZMA being supplied a 9AH Amaron... Same for ZMR)
Cheers...

Just sharing my experience of battery change which I did couple of months back.
The diagrams, explanation, change of cage is all shown for zma and please note the zmr is completely different. With the help of psr I also had planned to change the battery to 9amp, also one of my zma friends had come over who already had 9amp installed.
There was too much complicated difficulty involved in switching to 9amp battery in zmr. We tried some options but it was looking too complicated due to many things placed so sophistactedly inside.
My suggesstion would be not to do any such mod unless u really want it for some big electrical modifications.
I fitted sonic mf type 7amp battery now which is doing pretty good even if i start the bike only once in 2 weeks. Mind u my bike has got projector, angel eye set up, 55w bulb. Before this i also had hid which worked perfectly for a long time without any issues created by battery.
All the best!

Battery & Engine Oil

If you are not a pro DIY guy please try to avoid this.
Only fortunate people staying near PSR Sir or SHRIRAM Sir can try doing this.
Here I know only DHIRAJ who has successfully installed AMARON 9AMP.
Yes my Bike is still running on STOCK Batteries @ 27710 Kms.
The stock ones are not that bad I guess and hence changing SONIC MF 7Amp is also a very good option.
Running 55/60 Watt Lamps along with DUAL Parking Indicators and AUTOCOP Remote & 5Watt Pilot Lamps.
No problems yet,
touchwood.
Regarding ENGINE OILs
Yes I am running on Mobil1 10W40 Full Synthetic and changed last weekend at 4010 Kms.
One of the best I have used till now.
The new ones after March-2012 are priced at 1200 INR while the Old containers are 850 INR approx.
Consistently rode (SOLO) at 88Kmph to 91Kmph on Expressway and returned Mileage of 43Kmpl to 41 Kmpl.
This never happened in my earlier Engine Oils.
Even my City Mileage has gone up from 39 Kmpl to 41 Kmpl.
Since you all know that everything is documented for me hence the Conclusion.
YES the vibes have been negligible with smooth handling and riding.
Cheers & Ride Safe34567 kms and ZMR sold :(
