Ligher grades heats up fast and cool's down fast as well. Where as heavier grades heats up slow and takes its own sweet time to cool down, and another issue to consider is the ZMR's oil cooler, though am not commenting on the same due to uncertanity.Originally posted by Mzee_Maverik View PostMotorcycling Experience:

Firstly the bulbs..

These are 6000K ones...
The brightness of these are amazing,see the road is clearly visible.At first i felt i don't need the low beam(just kidding)..

And my project ALL WHITE ZMR is finally finished!
[The Headlamp is PHILIPS DIAMOND VISION AND NOT HID!]

Verdict pick a 4200k one for yellow tint(it is printed as white light on packaging but it is pinkish not white!) and 6000k for white light (it is printed as blue light on packaging but it is white)
Cool...and just an 1 w of consumption....and its good now that these LED are now available in our country...earlier they were not...
Finally after searching a lot and contacting with Shell dealer got the Ax7 (10w40) Oil...Cost Rs. 300....
Bike sound has become smoother...could ride it after change...just a 100m (because local bike service mechanic is near to home)....
Will update the status on this in couple of days...
Also, advice not to user Honda CBR250 (FS) engine oil in ZMR....not good....

Dear ZMR Owners,
I am owner of Hero Honda Karizma ZMR(bought on March 2011 from M/s Khanna Automobiles - Navada, Delhi) . It has clocked ~6000 kms. It would be wise of you people if you would look into the problems of my bike which are numerous by the way.
starting from
1. Loud noise from the Bike (Immense Vibrations) ( Engine as well as the fairing).
2. Paint peeling problem from the tail side of the bike where Karizma sticker is pasted. also a large greyish portion near the seat cover.(Paint is no more there)
3. "Khatt" noise arises from the front(90% of the time) and from the rear side of the bike when the bike goes in the small pits of Indian Roads.
4.No smoothness in the bike while riding it, it seems like i am riding my old freedom 125cc bike at the moment.
5. No mileage even when i ride the bike at steady speeds. Very Poor average (20-24kmph).
6. Worst Performance riding it is giving me.. It only reaches to the speed of 60kmph @ around 4-5k rpm in 5th gear.
7. supreme hard gear shifting. When gear shifts it looks like the gearbox will be broken soon and is working on the issuance of God..( Khatt Noise is hard, that once i thought the fairing broke due to some reason, but now i am used to it.)
8. Initially, there was rare heat issues with the bike. But this time after the span of 1 year, it looks like there is sun's fusion process going inside the bike, which literally heat up the tank to the fuel nozzle cap, and of course the faring.
9. Slow Ride speed (Khaddddd) Sound from Front.
10. Engine Heating. Difficult to place leg while changing gears and/or near Rear Brakes. Sometimes immense heat is felt on the hands(Front Lever).
With most of the problems always raised during the time of servicing, but none of them actually solved. and Thinking of it, i notice a strange thing while doing the servicing of bike that though i purchased bike on March 2011 from the place mentioned above, the bike manufacturing date was of November 2010. I find it strange and feel that the bike was defected and may be that's why it was not sold. Also, it was not mentioned to us during the purchase about the manufacturing date of the bike.
A total of 6 services have been done , with the last one done previous month.
And YES one thing more, SELLING is not an OPTION.
Kindly tell me what to do ?? I am going to HH Service Center today for checking all up, I hope they resolve it.

Even on Sunday i change engine oil to Shell Ax7...and on ride today coming to office...does not feel anything change..same engine noise....
You should check with your SVC...and if you still not satisfied....shoot an email to HM....regional office...

Shoot up a mail and dont forgot to keep all the top management person in cc, and do call the Delhi regional office for the same and explain them your issues.Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

ZMR rebuild!!!
Hi all,
Finally after such a long time, my ZMR has been fixed!!!!!
After my accident in January this year, I was looking for options to get her re-painted but when checked with the SVC in Delhi, they suggested that i should get the parts changed as they are broken from the inside (all the locks were broken)..
So i took the insurance claim, asked the SVC people to change all the Plastic parts on the bike i.e. the complete fairing and the under seat plastic parts...
After two weeks, got my ZMR all new and all white!!!
But now there's only one problem... the Chain produces a sound as if it's getting rubbed on the chain cover, however, when checked the chain is fully tight and lubricated!!!
Could there be any other issues with the chain that it is making such a noise...?? The noise is audible when i press the clutch while riding as when the clutch is released, the chain noise gets hidden under the engine noise...!!!
Please suggest what all can be done to finish the noise from chain!!!

Nice...for chain...check again with SVC...ride yourself and svc engineer as pillion; so that they can notice the problem of chain sound....

Can you please post snap of the box , bulb , its spread on road & how it look from 15/20 feet front .
While snapping picture of spread on road & bulbs illumination from 15/20 feet front please keep camera on & let it set for atleast a minute . Cause if immediate snap is taken it show light more bright , but if we let it to settle one minit in that light it show's some what true illumination .
I think may be FS oil are not good for our ZMR & get problem while circulating thro oil cooler & leads to leackage . May be i am wrong .Originally posted by veryhiphop View Post

1. May be the noise is from Camshaft & Rocker arm , the 2011 bikes before the changes have that problem as those part supplied from vendor are not that much good , get them inspected & replaced if any problem . Get the fairing refitted .Originally posted by neeraj.juneja View PostDear ZMR Owners,

2. That greyish paint problem is when we wash bike the seat get wet & we have to dry it from inside but we use it just by drying / cleaning upper surface . The moisture caught inside seat keeps that part of rear end wet which leads to color issue .
3. Maybe cone set tightning issue .
4. , 5. , 6. , 8. , 9. , 10. Camshaft & rocker seems to be faulty.
7. Maybe clean the front sprocket & & gear area will solve it .
First of all check if those parts are available at ASC or not , if not first let the part to reach them . Get the bike checked by Hero Engineer when he will be there . And also change engine oil when you get this work done . 1.10 liter would be good enough or go for 1.20/1.25 liter according to the work done , check page no . 39 & 41 of owners manual .

Camshaft was replaced in my ZMR year back...but still some noise is there and can be feel during at low speed @ below 3500 rpm...Originally posted by Above_All View Post1. would like to mention that rocker arm was not changed at that time...
and smoothness is gone...sometimes its back but not upto the mark.....
For seat scratches in body; i have put transparent tape on body just below to seat; so that if touches the color of body part does not get effect...
Now few days back i have removed the same as tape get old and dirty...
