  • Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500

Had been to company operated service centre in Chennai for servicing my bike. got the info that RE has stopped using Motula as the oil. they are now using an oil called "Liquid Gun" produced by HP. One good thing that RE was doing was Motul that also gone.

Watch all sort of RE videos on YouTube, read about RE in various forums and sites, download RE pictures, inquire about how thump can be increased, which silencer would be best, when can I change the silencer, read various ownership experiences etc
Thanks brother. I have been doing this throughout the month and gained a lot of knowledge about this bike, like how to tackle the problems and all the stuff and now just waiting for the beast.

ye Even i saw that photo on Face book.

Saw bullet 500 (without EFI) @ showroom in Mumbai waiting period is 3 month. Is it better then Classic 500 EFI ? I am still Waiting for my DS And now this has come up, should i buy this one or stick to DS.
As per BHP n all Bullet 500 is one or two point lesser then the classic EFI.. Will this effect on top speed and mileage ?

Bullet 500 has already been launched in select markets with good reviews. But since u have already booked a DS i suggest you stick to it. The Throttle response will be crisper owing to FI. Add to it the admiring stares you receive when u stop at a light

It's been some time since Bullet 500 has been launched. I would suggest you stick to DS500. EFI would always have a crisper and consistent response than carb. Only thing is not any road side mechanic would be able to fix it in case of issues unlike carb. Look vise both are damn sexy.

                            Thanks For Quick reply,

I am really confuse this time. My Old 350 is in Good condition. but i want more power, reliability and top speed for tours like ladakh. Even this time i move foreword n took the test drive of Cbr 250 and Ktm 390. but that comfort is not there which i am looking for the rider and pillion rider. And no Space for carrying stuff. if riding with pillion.
So it looks like, buy one more RE and be ready to run every sunday to the Service Center or Local mechanic friend..

                              Mani,

being an owner of DS myself i can tel u that "be ready to run every sunday to the Service Center or Local mechanic friend." is not at all true. You need to just give it a little bit of attention which includes cleaning & lubing your chain, using good quality fuel and sticking to a one particular brand of petrol as much as possible etc. the riding pleasure when you cruise at 80-90 kmph is unparalleled by any other bike i have ridden.

Completely agree with you friend. I think this maintenance thing is more hype and hoopla than reality and could not agree anymore, the riding pleasure is just unmatched
