I dnt know as its not my bike its my friends bike my bike has no such problem yet as I live in pune which is far away from coastal area. It must have happened to his bike as he lives in mumbai and only a km away from sea shore. But the RE company should give our bikes hard chrome as the export models I am going to complain to RE about this many must have already they should also be knowing the reason of thus problem as the plant itself is near coastal area and knowing this problem is going to occur the are still giving aluminium plating, this means they take us for granted isn't it( For all RE owners).. Have advised him to get it hard nickel chromed even I am going to do it after 2nd service. Take care keep riding.

          thanks guys ( SRTH 1987, gyan_recl350 and barkha )
for those helping words and sharing your good experience with bike. i m still with RE and waiting for DS. had a thought of switching it over 500 carb model. (recently launched in mumbai, and looks superb in green and black). but then again no point i already have electra CI with carb. and i wanted a new one for hassle free ride on high altitude .. which mean Efi.. Last time i saw many riders in ladakh riding trouble free there, because no carb and air filter adjustment needed in EFI models.. so fingers crossed for new EFI...

You are welcome friend and regarding sans classic parts, I have used two silencers from them and aware of few others. Know the guy Saurabh Katar very well. Also do not check their website, rather check their Facebook page for all the products as their website is not updated from long time. If you need any kind of help let me know

Is it advisable to change the present exhaust with unswept before the first service like on the date of delivery. Please reply asap?

                    harvey :

If your silencer is back firing, it just means that whatever silencer you have on is making your bike run lean, usually in case of a silencer with glass wool, the glass wool acts as median between the gases which come out of your engine at high pressure and the exhaust tip which is at atmospheric pressure. When you cut your throttle, the pressure in you silencer drops and air from the atmosphere rushes in causing the pop. So if you have a free flow exhaust its gonna be much more prominent than it would be when using a glass wool one. Since C500 is a closed efi system, there is no way you can tune it. Hence, stick with a silencer with glass wool. Its better for the engine in the long run.

                    Cheers!

                    Classic cruzer:

There is no way that bike can get that way without someone screwing with it. If you look closely you can see that even the plastic bits in the second pic have become brown. Looks like someone painted it with some kinda oxidizing crap. There is no way plastic will turn that color on its own. Neighbours can be a pain at times .. :/ ..

mmmmm... better wait for the running period to get over (2000kms) and then change the exhaust. Better do not change on the first day itself.

Guys need ur help!! i am observing tac tac tac sound from my DS while riding for the last couple of days. It doesn't sound like a metallic clatter but a softer sound. It seems to go away once the bike is pretty heated up which means a km or two. My SVC guy says its auto decomp. My questions are:

if it was the decomp i am supposed to hear it while idling and not riding right?? i didn't observe any noise while idling.
ideally the noise should go away after 700 rpm. but its still there when i am revving hard.
It does seem to go away once the bike is pretty heated up.

please provide your insights as i am going for a long trip this weekend.

Its the tappet noise bro. Chill. It will be there. If its too much, then you can get it adjusted a bit at the SVC. But since all Bulls are push rod driven, the tappet sound is there.

That is hydraulic tappet noise.. Nothing to worry and TBTS-350, sorry to correct you but all the bullets have push rod assembly and they are not OHC driven
