And if you do not mind asking you about your next visit to AutoService so that I can also try to schedule a visit and have a discussion on how to keep my FI healthy.
Hahaha, I was sitting in Autoservice when I posted my last reply

Fuel pump is a slow moving part, any PBK will take time to order and procure it. For me it was a waiting period of almost 3 weeks for the fuel pump.

Ideally you should look for a mech close to where you are put up. I have one guy in Arekere, he's OK with the mechanicals, but I don't trust him with electrical/electronic stuff.

Agreed it looks thinner but so far the grip is decent and seems like it holds corners pretty well too.

After using the tyre for about 2K Kms, I can say that the tyre is not bad. But 220 owners can avoid this since the profile is not that great.

Better stick to stock Zapper FS if you have to decide between the FQ and FS.

Straightline grip is adequate, it looses composure a little too easily at times. And while it holds up decently well enough on corners, the width is less and does not offer scope to lean more. I was at the edges of the tyre, with fairly regular type of leaning, and it did not inspire confidence to go any further.

Hunt for a suitable replacement for the Sirac rear still continues ...

Just rode this in Spiti. In the rain, in snow, rock, rubble, butter smooth tarmac, and on fantastic twisties. Very impressed. Getting this put on my 220 as soon as possible.

This is the front tyre! Ceat Zoom.

Rear is still the Vertigo, 120/80.

Completely made the chicken strips disappear

Vertigo is a 'gaon waala' tyre

How does it hold up in wet tarmac when braking around corners ?

This Gaon Waala tyre is great in the wet as well as cornering as the picture speaks

It is surprisingly good. And this is not just my opinion.

Most of the KTMs in Chandigarh PBK were shod with the Vertigo and a lot of Pulsars as well. The guys in the hills love this tyre. That itself is testament to the quality of the tyre. I have been using it for around 20k km as well and now due for a replacement. Very good from a touring point of view.

Though ofcourse big block patterns do transfer a lot of road buzz when on smooth tarmac, but on a Bajaj, you just won't notice

                ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

There is another tyre from Ralco which Berioust was using on his 390. You can ask him about the quality of that as well.

And these CEat tyres were used by the particpants of the Sajoba rally recently held!

Not sure if something has changed in the compound, but it was skiddy in wet when a couple of folks tried it in the hills around here a few years back.

120/80 Wish it was available in 120/90 or 130/80 size.

Correction, that's Sirac Street, not the Sirac.

Sirac street is the ba***rd child of the legendary Sirac, its a made in India tyre and that too by TVS (and we all know how amazing are the tyres made by them ). Its got no grip whatsoever and does not come in a 17" flavor

Not to undermine TVS tires, Praf, but absolutely second your thoughts on how TVS tires are built to armageddon, and true that completely. Would you believe the front tire of my Victor GLX 125 lasted 1.08 Lakh KMS and no cupping no nothing except wear and still had some thread left. No one believes it to this day, and not a single puncture on all these 7 years of total usage, where it was finally jinxed and got a stress induced puncture due to a weak tube just three days before shodding the MPS on the front for the first time in 7 years. But would I go for it again, definitely not.

One of my mechanic friend suggests CEAT as the best tire for the bikes who were "once" chucked despicably but many positive reviews affirms CEAT is on a strong foothold especially when it comes to rubbers these days.

                        Cheers!

It's good not to understand everything Praful, sometimes we need to just listen, not over think.

But yes I used to work in Coimbatore and every week apart from commuting to work in Coimbatore I used to ride back to Ooty on Friday early morning and leave Monday early morning all these yesteryear. So yes, you can say Ooty, Coimby, city commute, 100s of KMs every day and nitty-gritty, where I rear ended a truck exactly at 98750 KMS which is still "etched" in my mind, early morning, and the speedo console stuck at that speed splitting into smithereens. Installed a new speedo and has clockd another 14k.

And apart from this, you can add some 22,000 odd KMS on my Pulsar 220. So, yes you do the math -- whoops, well don't fret, you won't understand.

                            Cheers!

When you rev your bike hard at idle is there smoke coming from the exhaust?

Looks like your bike is drinking a lot of oil. You may need to replace piston rings, or maybe even complete bore piston kit if the bore is damaged.

Doesn't the overheat icon flash on the console?
