    Is it normal because if I just release the clutch it automatically moves don't even had to accelerate.

      Yep, this is a feature of the ECU. So that you don't stall the bike in bumper to bumper traffic.

        My Pulsar 220 Overhauled. Didn't had any major issue except the fact that the 4th gear would make lot of noise. Later found out that the 4th gear had 2-3 teeth broken!!
        Went for a complete overhauling and it wasn't that expensive actually!!

          Went on a trip to yercaud .Bike still climbing hills with ease


          RPM needle is not reaching zero even after taking the key out.
          Starting problem has increased and bike only starts in neutral
          Chain life is over and its only 15k km thinking of switching back to 37T as I seldom crossing 120kmph and 36T is making bike even more slower to reach 120 .
          Mileage in this trip was awesome 36 kmpl (I never crossed 95kmph as I had a twister as company ) much better than Kerala ride which was below 25kmpl (WOT mode full time)

                W40 means thinner not suitable for long runs.
                I am using motul 5100 15w50 its quite good for around 500 bucks.
                You can also get valvoline 20w50 for 300 bucks .

                  I have done 25k with my 220f.. Now facing a problem.. While riding at 30 to 40kmph or low RPM... the bikes tends to push and it seems that the fuel is over and will stop now... I don't know what to do... I complained to the service center still they couldn't fix it...... Please help

                    Chain life totally depends on maintenance and conditions it has been subjected to. It can vary anywhere from 5-6K to 25-28K kms.

                    For the starting issue, get your de-clutch switch checked.

                    I've used 20W40 oil for about about 3 oil changes for about 8K kms, and the bike would run pretty smoothly. But it is not recommended by the company to use a xW40 oil. Use it at your own risk.

                    Its a tuning/spark plug/fuel quality/carb issue. Post in the 220Dts-i thread to get more appropriate replies.

                    • FI to Carburettor Conversion for Pulsar 220 FI

                      Hi
                      Of late I have been getting advice from Bajaj mechanics to convert my FI system to a carburettor one. According to them certain FI parts are not available. I would like to know if such a move is advisable considering the fact that I have chosen a FI bike over typical carburettor one. Is it true that Bajaj has stopped supporting Plusar 220 FI bikes? I have been very satisfied with the performance of my Pulsar 220 FI so far and would definitely like to continue with it's in born features. Any suggestions on this would highly be appreciated.

                          Keep the bike running in FI until it fails .
                          Basically the difference is just in fueling part other stuff are similar to regular model.
                          They havent stopped supporting but the mech doesn't like to work on Fi bikes.
                          If you didn't get spares do send an mail to bajaj they should legally provide spares till 2018(10 years after the production has been stopped ).
                          To be frank this is the most engaging bike currently so keep it running on fi

                            Alright I am back to this thread after couple of Day or may be months.

                            I had halted my bike for few days approx 2weeks Took if for a ride and everything was fine, Next day took it for a spin to my friends place and later tried to push the self and it was not starting just could hear the Kriking Kriking noise.

                            Decided to take it to a local Mech before that did few Tbs pulled the Battery connection that goes to ignition and reconnected still same issue, took the side panel off where the battery is connected and took the rubber cover off the battery nodes and found that its broken and and its just like hanging on the cliff, Tried to move and it got cut.

                            Then took to local Mech he asked me to bring the battery connector from local shop,replaced tried to start unable to start he pushed and started and told me keep riding the battery may be juiced out so it will recharge, from there Rode to BASS and asked them to check and charge the battery its was about 5PM they told they close by7:30 come at 7:30 and take the bike .

                            When went back at 7:30 i doubt if they had recharged as the bike was in the battery the shop guy told they have charged but it needs a charge of 6hours and we have only charged for 3hours so we are running short of time come back tomorrow.

                            Next day was busy with other work, then again after that day went to my local mech asking him to remove the battery so i can give it in BASS later informed he has the Equipment to recharge he again kept for 3 hours and it was not starting later it was just making cranking sound he tried to Shot the Relay switch and luckily it started once later again same cant start just cranking sound when pushed the self.

                            Later I decided i've purchased the battery in January so I shall go to Amaron and get it checked by them they found that its not holding the charge so they told me to come tomorrow mean while they will check when went there next day I was happy as they handed over a brand new battery reason as the battery is not holding the charge and its at low% 11.5 not sure that does this mean connected the new battery first push without any hiccups it started

                            When checked with the battery technician he told it may be a bike Issue its now generating enough power for the battery to consume power or hold it, He told me to get the bike he will check I was busy today told will come back tomorrow,

                            I remember Praful to me to go to Banshankri BASS please suggest the mechanic whom i should meet may be over this weekend ill go.

                            I've spoken to these guys who stay close to my place NMWRACING these guys basically are experts in servicing Sports bike,customs vehicles,and tuning.


                            I've spoken to there team they told service charge excul will be 650Rs i am planning to go forward with it.

                            Can somebody tell me what is the work of CDI? they suggested to att CDI for the bike.

                              The battery problem that you are talking about is due to the regulator located at the back of the seat. Its like a dynamo which charges the battery when engine runs. It holds power providing ample supply of power to the battery for it to hold own. I had the exact same issue on my pulsar 220 DTSI. The regulator is located under the rear seat . It is an aluminium part having two wires hanging out of it. It costs around 700 to 900. Forgot the price. I changed it this january and the problem sorted out. Check your regulator ASAP.
                              Engine oil is way too old change it to motul 5100 or 7100 synthetic oil. Heating up of engine will go away .
                              Your console showing some error. Dont know about that.

                                After riding one of the worst possible tyres for the 220 i.e. Michelin Pilot sporty for almost a year I have changed over the MRF Zapper FQ its the CBR150 front tyre.

                                Agreed it looks thinner but so far the grip is decent and seems like it holds corners pretty well too.
