  • I just got the "200" stickers a few days back because some mischeivous element had decided that the P-200 looks better WITHOUT those stickers.

But, this evening I go to wipe the machine, and notice that the stickers are gone! For a bloody second consecutive time. This is really irritating and frustrating. People just seem to easily peel off those "200" stickers and get away with it!

They can afford a Rs.75k odd bike, but they cannot seem to, for some strange, unexplainable reason, afford a Rs.80/- odd sticker (considering some P-200 owner/ rider peels off these..)

I wish someone invents a security system that could electrocute the *beep*s who steal the stickers.
I had my 0 nicked once and had to wait a full month to get the new stick-ons. Not to mention,I was asked everywhere, when Pulsar 20 was launched.

Full month! Whoa! That is a LONG wait, my friend. Fortunately, we here get it when and where required, but then, I have decided to not get yet another set of stickers right now..

Here in Lucknow, the people are a bit.......how should I put it........civilized. Nobody cares whether it's 200 or 220 hence my P200 was safe even amongst the massive drooling. Atleast that's what I thought until it happened.
And the sticker being stolen was a new thing even for Probiking Lucknow hence they weren't keeping spare stick-ons. Hence the delay.

          • why dont you guys get the Bajaj Blackcat security alarm installed? Bajaj are now offering it for a killer price of 1100/-

Set it to the highest sensitivity and if a cat even sits on the seat of your bike, you'll have a nice hooter going off... definitely deter any sticker stealers who'll have to be so fine handed they'l never manage to peel of stickers that delicately i suppose :P

@ Aryan.. someones definitely keeping an eye on your ride mate..

            • ^^^ Good one at a Good Price. Where's Ravi Kiran? His bike attracts cats!

BTW, what are you going to do if the alarm buzzes? Does it have a cut off? It is not practical to think that you can hear the alarm every time it goes off and if the battery drains.... Push start the bike?

              • The alarm has an auto cut off feature. If the shock/disturbance continues it will continue to sound for a period of time and then stops after a predetermined time. Also for low intensity disturbance it has a less urgent sound, if the impact is high then it has a real intense and dual tone sound.

The complete list of features is in the manual so i'l have to dig it out incase you wanna know more.

Frankly its really worth every cent and is certified by Bajaj so no warranty headaches and the installation is done by them itself. No adverse effects on the battery either.

This is the most important part for me. Since it is installed by them, I'm sure it won't mess around with the electricals. I think, I'll need to get one to stop this stealing of stickers!!

                  • Guys, does it work for minor disturbances on the fibre parts too?

Does Bajaj offer it on a 220?

                      • @ Aryan : No headaches with the electricals at all. Its plug and play almost for most connectors with minor work required.

@ Pranay : yeah.. its easily installed on the 220 too. no problems

@ Hydbiker : The alarm has 5 levels of sensitivity. Level 1 is the least while Level 5 is the most sensitive. I found Level 5 to be too sensitive. So much so that during a wedding in the colony adjoining my place the were setting off rocket bombs and even though they were exploding in the air.. the shock waves were enough to set off the alarm! LOL!

Level 5 is quite sensitive to slight vibrations. If you're looking for specific response to touches on fibre parts then prolly not, but if you look at it practically, when set to level 3 or higher, any attempt to vandalise the bike or remove minor parts will trip the alarm.

Stealing battery etc is impossible with the alarm even if set to level 2. Ideally Level 3 to 5 is used and is most practical to use 3 or 4.

Apart from the alarm it also has remote engine start (though i dont use it as i prefer to start the bike the normal way with the startup check) and the best part is it has an engine immobilizer.

The alarm can also be set to a mute armed mode if you dont want the siren but yet wanna have the system armed and active and engine immobilized

Please dont waste your money on these systems as the shock sensor will start the alarm even if a car honks or if someone is playing loud music in his car and you will end up running to check your bike every 2-3 minutes.....thats irritating...this is my personal experience with the blackcat...now i generally keep it in silent mode.Even i was facing this sticker theft problem...the best way to avoid such thing is to cover your bike with a body cover....thats what i am doing and it has worked wonders for me...as no one will notice the bike

                          • ^^ I differ. I have no such problems with my installation and i've got it set on level 3. Loud music/honking or kids lightly brushing against the bike dont trip it off.

                            I think its worth it.

                            • My primary concern is, will the alarm trip if someone tries to take those stickers off? Because, I don't think peeling off those stickers needs that much pressure, which would trip the alarm!

                              I am confused..
