. Generally if the AFR screw is placed nearer the air-intake side of the carb, it's a an air-screw and if it's nearer to the engine intake manifold side of the carb, it's likely a fuel-screw . So be very careful and double check which carburetor type is used on the twister , before even touching it . Do you know it's make and model ? Are you sure that it's AFR screw is an fuel-screw and not air-screw ?Announcement

Rajaselvam'jee , depending on the carburetor type used on the bike .. the AFR screw can either be a air-adjusting screw (increases decreases air in the mixture) or a fuel-adjusting screw(increases decreases fuel in the mixture) . The effect for both is same , ultimately to vary the proportion of fuel & air in the combustion intake . However if the AFR screw on your bike's carburetor is an air-screw (like the keihin PB on splendor) turning it clockwise will make the mixture fuel rich and anticlockwise will make lean . Exactly the opposite of what you sayOriginally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View Post

Also , are you sure they didn't give you some car or other oil by mistake ? It's unlikely that Servo brand motorcycle oil (20w40?) of iocl will cause clutch to slip .Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostLast edited by Pinaki; 02-23-2012, 02:54 AM.

check CBR150 as well....it will have good performance to rival Yamaha R15 with better fuel efficiency and looks bit similar to CBR250. though its priced a bit high at 115k. I wonder if Honda is planing to launch Twister 250cc using the CBR 250 engine within next 1-2 year...because If you see all 2 wheelers launched by honda so far, they have launched more then one bikes using one engine.Originally posted by Baazigar View PostGuys, i'm planning an upgrade to my twister,
surely no plans of selling out this one, but after 40k on the odo, i think its time for twister to take the back seat and i buy a bigger bike, prob a 250R.
example in 110cc category:Activa/Aviator/Dio/Twister/dream yug
In 125cc category:shine/stunner
In 150cc category:dazzler/Unicorn
All above have been built using same engines in respective category...so i am expecting Honda to launch Twister 250 or something similar priced at 1.1-1.2 lacks within next 1-2 years. This bike will target pulser 200Ns and Karizma which fall in same price & cc bracket.I think Honda is holding a bit long due to their understanding with Hero moto corp.

clutch slippage will occur if you have put car engine oil...car oils are different from bike engine oils.bike mostly has wet clutch plate while cars has dry clutch plates. you can Try Motul 3000 4T or Gulf pride 20W40...both are good. If you want try something new then company called savita oil technology has launched new engine oil called Savsol super 4T sj 10W30 and Sj 20W40.this is a same company that makes Honda oil under licence from Idemitsu.Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostGuys tell me Best engine oil for our bike.
Last week i have changed the engine oil that i've brought in Indian oil petrol bunk. That's the worst engine oil i used.clutch is sleeping lot bcz of this oil.

mrf zapper c 100/90. Speed was 70 - 100kmph. I'm satisfied with the mileage though. Just to inform you guys that change in width resulted 6 - 7 kmpl drop in mileage. While sane (40 - 60 kmph) riding I used to get around 70 in country roads and 55 in city traffic. Didn't check it with the new tyre. One another thing I learned is that grip while braking is completely depend on the front tyre. If I apply only the rear brake the wheel gets locked even at 40kmphr in dry tarred surface.Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostWhich tyre you are using & what is your speedLove the ride, not the destination

Rajselvam why do you always expirement with that damn thing. Why dont u just stick to Honda oil. I am using Honda Throttle 10w30 100% synthetic on my twsiter and CBR,, twister is silent after I started using synthetic oil in it....

How much the Honda oil costs.
Ya only applying single brake ll lock the wheel that maybe front or back even at a speed of 20kmphr. My new tyre really saved me today on a hard brake, when i applied the sudden brake at of speeeed of 60. The back wheel got locked but my tyre not skidded but dragged that was nearly 15-20mtrs tyre mark in roadOriginally posted by rixBhp View Postmrf zapper c 100/90. Speed was 70 - 100kmph. It is Simple just use front brakes more than the rear brakes,
Remember that not only twister but any bike will skid if only rear brakes are used as they lock very easily because during braking weight shifts to front wheels.

It's topic already discussed alot see the beginning posts on this threadOriginally posted by sangy27 View Postcan we add full chain cover to Twister ??
ya applying correct brake ratio ll avoid the skidding.Originally posted by sangy27 View PostGuys, my bike will get delivered next week..

simple to avoid skids/slides.. 60%front brake 40% back :P... and its no issue at all... just takes some getting used to.. also the more weight at the rear the less the skid potential but may effect stability ..Originally posted by sangy27 View PostGuys, my bike will get delivered next week..

thats right, i have not faced skidding issues even during rains.with correct braking techniques its easy to avoid skidding. its just a matter of getting used to bikes behavior. people who faced skidding are those who got their hands on brand new bike and have not spent much time on it. If you know how to use engine braking in combination with both brakes....then IMHO you will never face skidding.Originally posted by 2wtourer View Postsimple to avoid skids/slides.. 60%front brake 40% back :P... and its no issue at all... just takes some getting used to.. also the more weight at the rear the less the skid potential but may effect stability ..

yeah you are right. using the engine too to help you slow down or stop is a plus plus.. but bewarned that does take fuel that kinda goes waste :P ..Originally posted by sachin1111 View Postthats right, i have not faced skidding issues even during rains.with correct braking techniques its easy to avoid skidding. its just a matter of getting used to bikes behavior. people who faced skidding are those who got their hands on brand new bike and have not spent much time on it. guys like me,many of you may want to upgrade to higher CC bikes as we crave for more powerful bikes. Kawasaki Ninja 150cc seems to be a great bike to own.Now if you think this 150cc bike will be similar to R15 or CBR150/CBR250 then think again......this bike makes 29 BHP
from 150cc Two stroke engine and is much cheaper to own.Kawasaki has already brought 250cc Ninja in India.... so if they bring this 150cc Ninja here then it will beat most other bikes hands down.
