Re: The Honda CB Twister
stop worrying, get it washed but not with too much of pressure wash.. ask them to keep the nozzle a few feet away and use their finger to reduce the pressure and get the chain washed.. again don't over do it.. just a few seconds should get most of the dirt off.Originally posted by smartrider View PostDue to rain,my bike is now all messed up with mud.I'm planning to wash it,but since we've a half chain cover,I fear whether the water would wash off the chain lubricant.I am a bit confused. Please help me with this.
then wipe it down with a cloth and lube it with fresh engine oil or EP 90 gear oil.

Re: The Honda CB Twister
I'm washing it myself frequently as this problem persists till the rains are up.Buddy, thanks for help.I think Twister is vulnerable to rains than most other bikes
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Rains invite rust. Are there any transparent stickers available to protect the bike's parts from rusting? Also,if anyone could suggest some maintenance tips during rains?

more bikes these days have open chains, and are as vulnerable as the twisterOriginally posted by smartrider View PostI'm washing it myself frequently as this problem persists till the rains are up.Buddy, thanks for help.I think Twister is vulnerable to rains than most other bikes

if you wash it frequently, make sure you are lubing it too after the wash
to reduce the chances/effects of rust, you can just wipe the parts you are concerned about and spray a light layer of wd40 during the rains (definitely not on the tank
or the disc brake !!)

I follow following process:
A. Wash bike with good shampoo every 2-3 weeks and apply wax on painted surfaces. Lube chain with EP90 Gear oil, Engine oil is not recommended.
B. After 1-2 hours, take it for drive of atleast 8-10KMs so that engine, inaccesible metal parts get dried. Get air checked.
C. Wash bike only with plain water every week/or after rain. This takes just 5 mins. Lube chain.
D. After 1-2 hours, take it for drive of atleast 8-10KMs so that engine, inaccesible metal parts get dried. Get air checked.
Any kind of stickers would encourage water to get deposited on metal as metal below stickers could not be waxed/washed. Avoid them.Last edited by MoonLight; 06-07-2013, 01:10 PM.

Minor update to Twister model
Short update....I went to Honda showroom last week to collect my bike's RC. I was surprised to see twister their in sports red color ( similiar to P135's red ) , on enquiring they told its new color and now heat shield over silence is coming in black color. Same changes are reflected in Honda website too.

Re: Minor update to Twister model
thats right, this red color also has red paint instead of silver lining present surrounding the seat area. As per website its also shocking to see honda has stopped Green and white colors. Before this the blue color was also stopped.Originally posted by MoonLight View PostShort update....I went to Honda showroom last week to collect my bike's RC.
