Booked red twister yesterday..really liked it..
    cost is Rs.54900 in Thane..

i took self/drum because some how i felt DISC can be dangerous for me..as i am not regular rider..n once had small accident when i applied front disc hard....so i think drum is enough to ride withing city limits..

they gave me FREE accessories worth rs 2500 including studds helmet [rs 1175], Number plates [250 rs], Saree gaurd + leg guard [700 rs]..
My other friends were shocked because when they bought their honda bikes, they did not get any thing free(not even number plates
..really liked STUDDS NINJA HELMET>>its cool..

will get delivered in 10 working days..

is there any thing i need to check while taking delivery.
i will be posting more queries soon when i will get my bike in my hands.. :P

    Thanks.. a lot...
good man.. and well be careful with the drums too :P.. on the twister the drums are just as effective as discs :P.. and good deal .. me too got somethin similar .. all except the helmet for 53750.. that was 8 months back :P ..but got ninja helmet for 800 .. so paid same as u in total :P..

but 10days ?? really?? i got mine delivered the next day ..

u really need not worry about anythin as u can always go back (if the showroom is near ) if u hav problems..

but basic things to check out for :
*possible scratches (especially over the cowling, fairing, muffler, any plastics)
    *fuel(min 2lts in tank)(note that reserve itself holds 1.62)
*ensure in and out for rust.. if rust exists just decline to accept (unless dealer offers to reduce price :P)(u will typically find rust near the CDI unit, and under the fuel tank at the delivery tube attachment before the fuel know)
*ensure the KM reading on the ODO is under 5Kms
    *ensure all electricals are working.
*make a short test run to ensure proper gears brakes etc
*try tapping the head lamp dome assembly, if u hear a feed back or rattling or vibration , report , sign of a loose screw or somethin else cable or wire, take no chances,(i had that problem i neglected turnd out after 200kms the speedo cable ripped , needed replacement. though i did not hav to pay for , one unnecessary trip to service )
*make sure all rubber pads are in place under the seat (minor useless stuff but still, will give more comfort from vibration :P )
    *
** thats all i guess, i feel i listed too much but this is wht i feel u should look out for , well i did (mostly) :P..and paid it paid off too :P. initially i rejected to take bike due to rusting under tank and under the engine housing and got a different newer one so just be sure whn u take it to your hands , that this is the one you want ..

    • Minda AUTOSAFE..

ok i got the minda auto safe .works wonders..

but how does the immobilizer work ?? the pink and gray wires are not connected to anything. (diagram suggests pulsar coil , what is that ?)..

remote start works, i can drive without key by using remote start and stop.. but immobilizer ??

      • Hey 2wtourer.. Thanx Mate..
        that was detailed checklist ...:-)
i will check all the things...sure..

showroom is around 4 -5 Kms away...but really dont want to visit them again...:P

BTW i m getting this helmet..

& its cost is around 1175 Rs..

i think 10 days is very less compared to Unicorn's waiting period which is 4-5 months
        dazzler's 1-1.5 months
        activa 6+ months.. :P

              1. lights
              2. horn
              3. gears etc..
              4. Battery is MF or normal battery..

              anything else??
in addition to what was mentioned by 2wtourer,make a list of things to be checked and the one u r suppose to get like Check invoices / bills / RC books / insurance documents / service coupons/tool kit/first aid kit/user manual/all accessories promised. you are likely to forget some things due to shear excitement of getting your dream bike hence make a list and check one by one.

in addition to above....make sure the chassis number and engine number mentioned in your invoice matches to that printed on bike. The engine number is given near bottom of engine while chassis number is near front forks/headlight. check page 44 and 45 of user manual for exact location of this.

Post the diagram here so that I can get a better idea.
Generally,The pulsar coil tells the cdi when to fire the spark plug and The immobilizer breaks the pulsar coil circuit as a result engine doesn't fire/work.

                  +1^
Get the immobilizer installed by the dealer as installing it outside may void the warranty and you can avoid warranty related issues.
Not sure on the warranty part, so just confirm if the warranty gets void if installed from outside.

                  Cheers!

as long as no stock wiring is fiddled with Warranty is not void.. we may use extenders or taps but way not cut any of the existing..

and here is the wiring diagram as given in the manual/warranty card..
the technician connected everything but the pink and gray..

Electronic Security System ...if u plan to go for Minda (2ys warranty), but may also try Roots (good design , 1yr warranty) or Xenos FW40(cheapest at 850,but not sure on warranty and complete features).

anyone hav any take on 10w50 oil from Bajaj ??

Bike detailing is a procudure by which paint protection is applied which protects from UV radiation.. also it restires the bike to showroom condition... I am at nagpurt where winter temp drops to 5-6 degrees 10w 30 is fine there is no harm in using it..
