But, mechanic told, since I fitted Roots lock system, now it requires two buzzers. Hope, you got my question.

AS far as your relay has not tampered the original wiring from your battery a single buzzer should do... A relay has nothing to do with indicator wiring as along as main battery terminal is not involved... Main battery terminal should not be involved as well... I have a roots relay and single buzzer for my indicator... Both are independent wirings.. Your indicator buzzers should be activated by your indicator switches where as CLS wiring bypasses the indicator switch ... and directly connects to indicators and controlled by relay/CLS system.... Now...

Hmm, I see... what shall be my next step, then? Shall, I show this at the Honda SVC? Coz, I went to 3 different local mechanics, all suggested the double buzzer thing! Please suggest.

Honda ASC will not support this ... Check the wiring diagram for your CLS relay... and see whether that has been adhered to

Honda ASC will not check it officially as CLS & buzzer are not part of honda bike and since you got it fitted from outside...its does not comply with bike's warranty policy.
I think your current wiring set up needs to be checked according to diagram given on user manual of your Roots CLS.....so carry the Roots CLS user manual(wiring diagram is given in user manual)and show it to person who installed the CLS and let him see if single buzzer can be fitted. also carry buzzer circuit diagram if you have it,and let him check both diagram...if they have been installed as per diagram in your bike and then decide accordingly.

            Hi

Happy Leap Year 2012 to all

I'm new to this forum and feeling good about this as we can share our view on CB Twister.

Bought on 14 Oct 2011, nice & good bike. But has few problems, kindly requesting experts for suggestion on following:

            1. Almost after 4 months for average riding with 1000Kms mileage has never up than 45KMPL - very poor performance in mileage. Kindly suggest something to improve this one seriously sky touching petrol prices

            2. Gear shifting problem specially between 3 & 4

            3. Engine turns off automatically without no reasons

            4. Poor pickup in 100cc segment compared to Hero and Bajaj Bikes (not against Honda, as I'm big of Honda Shine)

            5. Need some guide on maintenance and handling for this bike

            6. Please suggest good gear indicator and electronic lock system for my bike

            Appreciate suggestions for above issues

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on choosing twsiter

1)Mileage-- This is suprising and needs to be checked almost every one in this forum is getting mileage of 65kmpl.. But Mileage depends on lot of factors.. they are as below
Are you riding on economy mode: ie b/w 45-55 kmph speed
Have you got your servicing done as per schedule?
Are you doing your breakin / run in properly (not exceeding 40kmph speed for first 750kms and there in not exceeding 50-55 kmph for next 1000 km) this is very important and will decide the fate of your engine for rest of its life
Your breaking style and clutch usage, tyre pressure, chain maintanance

If all of this is in place you would need to tell the problem to ASC and get your air fuwl mixture setting done

2)Gear shifting problem: This is mostly as its a new bike and will vanish after second service . report this at the time of service
3)Engine turns off automatically: Set your idling(rpm to 1400 +/- 10) ASC will do this
4)Twister has best in class pick up in this category all my firends who rode my bike agreed to this.. Adjusting the idling speed should take care of this. Adultrated petrol can also be a reason.
5)Maintanaice: Oil change at every 1500 km recommended if you can afford.. must at every 2000km. Regular chain cleaning and lubrication: once in 90 days or 1000km which ever is earlier you can do it yourself using little kerosene, sae90 gear oil an old toothbrush and oilcan is all that you will need. I do a pre ride inspection everyday like brakes, clutch cable, headlamp, once a week tyre pressure, once in 10 days engine oil level
              6)
You can us roots or MINDA CLS. Gear change indicator is not needed for twister or for that matter any bike . You have a neutral indicator that should be fine. Any specific reason for this?

                welcome to forum!!
their can be so many reasons for getting poor mileage.....you need to clear each reason step by step to pin point the exact cause.I would suggest you to read & understand all the previous pages on this forum.this will give you a fair idea of what all maintenance is required.I think It will waste of time to repeat same things again and again on this forum.By the way your mileage is very low but is 45kmpl mileage is in city or Highway?mileage can drop sharply during constant stop and go in bad traffic condition. Anyways here are few things you need to find out.
                1) are you getting correct quantity of fuel from petrol bunk and its non adulterated? what method was used for calculating mileage?
2)check all fuel pipe connection joints for tightness...like those soft rubber pipe some times become loose due to vibration if circular clip on rubber pipe is not not fitted properly..and fuel constantly evaporates through these joints.always keep fuel cock off when bike is not in use.avoid parking bike under direct sunlight as fuel tends to evaporate much faster....i can always smell it near fuel cap.
3)You need to retune your engine using tachometer.bike turning off and poor pick up is a good indication that its not properly tuned.
4)lubricate chain every 300-400km with SAE90 gear oil and fill up to maximum tyre pressure every month as mentioned in user manual.
                5) Improve your riding habits by smooth and gradual acceleration and being in right gear with respect to speed.
6)Do not exceed oil change limit over 2000km.
7)Lastly there are things like valve clearance/tappet settings.....which you should check from Honda ASC as your mileage seems very low.
8)check the air filter box and air pipe under seat and see if it its clear of dust or other foreign objects. (my bikes insurance paper had once got sucked in air suction pipe which is located under the seat compartment)

                    Check the Air-Fuel mixture.

                    2. Gear shifting problem specially between 3 & 4

I'm also getting same problem, get a good engine oil

                    3. Engine turns off automatically without no reasons

Check the air-fuel mixture & ideal rpm & also air filter

                    4. Poor pickup in 100cc segment compared to Hero and Bajaj Bikes (not against Honda, as I'm big of Honda Shine)

Comparing to all 100cc bikes twister is the best in pickup

                    6. Please suggest good gear indicator and electronic lock system for my bike

                    Go for Roots CLS

the same Gladiator II CLS model is fitted in my bike too.By the way you can do some funny thing with it......like park the bike at a place where people pass near to bike and you need to stand at few meters away from bike to watch the fun....when a person is passing close to bike, start the bike by pressing the CLS remote button and then watch the reaction of person passing by. he will wonder how the hell did the bike started automatically when no one is sitting on the bike

                      • I had a 400 km long ride(up + down) to Munnar, Kerala. I went alone. It was fun to ride sweeping all those curves. Fortunately, the ride was safe. I was thoroughly enjoying taking each curve though the bike was not confident inspiring. I got an average of 50+ (400kms, petrol of Rs550 , Rs67.60/Litter) with mad riding (100+ in highway and 60 -70 in ghats...yea I was risking but with caution). No overheating or nothing. My chain was making a clicking noise from the past one month. So I was worried if it will create any problem on the way. But there was no issues. I tried to take an adventurous ride by taking a route to Kodikanal. It's a very less known short cut route with inexistent road. I went up to 1 km. But after that it was not atall possible to ride. Risky and scary. So I dropped the idea and returned. This one increased my confident level of riding to places. Next destination is Ooty.
Love the ride, not the destination

You need to find the exact match for the paint its a rare color .. Where are you buying the paint from I mean does the guy who gave you the quote have the color?

Regarding the engine stalling issue: I had this issue initially. They (service center) changed some electrical part (alternater..i guess. Not sure) and charged Rs500. That resolved the issue. For poor pickup and mileage keep on complaining. Be a pain in their a**. Otherwise they wont care atall.

Rix why did you pay for the part if your bike was in warranty?
