    • @asad,nobody has cut the two tubes for sure.these two tubes are present on my bike also near side stand spring exactly like yours shown in pics.one is bit smaller then other one.
are you sure its petrol that is leaking and not the engine oil?
These two pipes i think are breather pipes.
One pipe is for carburetors. If somebody leaves fuel knob to ON for long time, it might happen that petrol gets accumulated in carburetor. This chokes it up and results in bike refusing to start.this pipe helps to drain out this extra fuel out of carburetor. the second pipe is i think the crankcase breather pipe.and since the battery is of sealed-maintenance free type, there wont be drain for battery and when i had opened the air filter box(see first picture on page 45)it had one closed plug at the air box right side end to drain water,so no drain pipe coming from there as well.Do keep fuel knob to OFF position if you are not using bike for few days.

yes mostly its hero and honda that people buy for mileage.the honda 100cc engine is same that is fitted on splendor varients and passion.only Discover 100cc from bajaj is good at mileage. and unicorn seems to have the best fuel efficiency among 150cc.

          • Hi All,
My bike has covered 3500kms. Can I use semi-synthetic engine oils for my bike's engine now?

            Comment

            • there wont be harm in using Semi synthetic oil now,but it is generally recommended after first 5000km.if you are ready to wait for some more time, then it will be good.

              • Hi all, I have been riding a Twister for the past one year (14000kms~). I thought I would share my experience. Mine is the lowest model(no disc no electric start). Mileage depends on your riding style. If you are rash, mileage is 35. If you ride in a moderate speed the mileage is 80+. City and highway mixed is 60+. There has not been any major issues except some starting coil burned (Rs500). Every weekend I take a long ride on highway (100kms~)... Most of the time above 90kmph. Still no issues so far. By the way I was very careful during the run in.
Love the ride, not the destination

                  Hey RixBHP

How much does it give on 100(+)kms runs with high speeds, like 90kmph... And is it stable at those speeds... like in comparison with heavier 150cc bikes like Unicorn & Pulsars?? How is the handling like?? Good enough to do runs of above 100/200/300/400 kms??

Just asking you since you ride a lot and have ridden the Twister a lot ... 14000 in a year is bit on higher side

                  Ride safe,
                  Abu

Beg to differ , the horizontal splendor engine ( same as cd100 ,passion & dawn ) is a very old honda design from the 1970's ( honda cub / honda ct trail ) . It is famous for simplicity , extreme durability , long life & consistent mileage over years ; I personally know a few cd100ss & splendors giving 65kmpl now after 10+ years with very little maintenance by owners . The highest & longest sold engine in the world ever . Twister's engine is a brand new honda design ( coffee can) vertical engine , never seen in India before -- 9bhp in a 110 @ 70-80kmpl -- goshh !! A new ace .

                    • Pinaki, agree with you.from what i have observed,Honda first develops one engine and then makes at least 3-4 different bike models using the same engine.example, way back Honda developed the 150cc engine for Unicorn, then same engine was later used on Hero Honda CBZ and then again on Hunk and now recently the very same engine is fitted on Dazzler with some tweaks to boost power.
According to a Honda mechanic,Twister engine is same 110cc that was earlier launched on New Activa and aviator.the difference being in transmission system,i.e it has automatic transmission on Activa/aviator and its geared on Twister. now soon they are launching new Dio scooter with same 110cc engine.
with Honda and hero group calling OFF their wonderful partnership,Honda wants to take the competition single hand-idly.few months back Honda officials had said that they are developing a brand new 100cc engine at their R&D center in japan with some new technology, for markets in India and china.I think this new engine will compete against present day 100cc engine on splendor.there are news reports on net that Honda is preparing a new 100cc bike with this new engine that will be priced lower than Twister and similar to splendor.my guess is it will be the most fuel efficient engine till date better then both Twister and splendor.

Hi rix, did you noticed any problems before the ignition coil burn? at times when i do full throttle drives, i notice some odd smell coming from engine after coming to stop.this is mostly in hot summer months like April and may. i thought this smell is either engine oil smell or from the ignition coil which i think is placed in engine covered with some varnish.
