Twister 250 weight is just 139kg which is lighter than many 150cc bikes making it fun to drive and it makes most of its power at lower RPM thus does not require expensive liquid cooling system.I think it will kill Apache RTR and Karizma hands down.if looks is not the top priority then IMHO this is probably the best value for money 250cc bike.

I came to know Honda is planning to price this around 1.10 lacs to 1.25 lacs. Btw Sachin Today I tried crossing 60 on my twister for the first time just wanted to try. I have clocked 789 km on odo so still in run in period. I was smooth no Vibs exprienced. Did not get a chance to do Highway riding till now as Mon to fri busy with office and Sat Sun rains hitting Nagpur last few weeks. Getting a mileage of roughly 60kmpl.. after first service. I can blame this partially on frequent gear shifts needed in Nagpur due to traffic lights. I have to cross9 traffic lights for the 8 km ride between office and home which means a light for almost every kilometer.

Bajaj is already manufacturing Duke 125 for Eurpoean markets at its Chakna plant in Pune. Duke 125 is being planned to launch in India in December 2011. BTW i Saw Duke 200 in test conditions at Lonavala couple of months back. Bajaj engineers were testing I guess.. 2 of them orange and black. I hate naked bikes first of all so not my taste and I heard Bajaj is pricing it close to CBR 250r or even expensive than tat whicj I feel is not worth

Then it may just glow yellowish and produce less light than a full-glowing 35watt bulb actually . In fact no one can guess that for sure .. it may or may not ... depends how much load Honda designed the headlight coil for ... wanna test it for 600 ? hmm .. if you could borrow a 60 watts h4/hs1 bulb from someone just for a try ... You are deeply enamored with Honda now . Congrats for your new bike in advance .

Pinaki Ji I simply love the Honda Quality.. If Honda hand not launched HSMI them my straight choice would have been erstwhile Hero Honda. Honda bikes are known for their silent operations and engine quality. If at all I have any complaints on my twister they are for my own riding technique which is improving. I used to ride a karizma 7 years back. But after that I switched to car. When I was transfred to Nagpur my car (Volkswagen Polo) would burn a hole in my pocket with the petrol price here (Rs 72 a liter unleaded, 78 a litre Speed/Power/Xtra premium). So switched to two wheeler. Nagpur petrol is Rs 4 costlier a litre than in Mumbai and one of the costliest in India. I guess only Bangalore will come close to this price but still be cheaper by a rupee or two

KTM Duke200 was launched in Malaysia few days back and their they have priced it at 1.35 lacks(Indian equivalent in Rupees)This price is after importing it in CKD form & assembling it their. So in india it should cost much less between 1.1-1.25 lack.It would be foolish for bajaj and KTM to price it more than CBR250.

          • shock absorber problem??

hi...I am facing a problem with my twister and need the help of biker gurus of XBHP. dont know if anyone has faced this on twister, but here goes...
my bike has been ridden for 7500 kms till date. my daily commute is of about 40 kms. first 10kms is typical urban traffic, with bumper to bumper traffic, congested roads, potholes, cows and whatnots (for people from Kolkata, its dumdum road->jessore road->airport 1no. gate->vip road->haldiram). the rest 10kms is smooth 4 lane highway, with occasional idiot drivers and terrified villagers thrown in. multiply that by 2 and you get the daily exercise of my twister. she is ridden on those roads 5 days a week. so, after being submitted to this condition from January this year, she is still going strong giving good mileage (65-68kmpl...i know i can get more, but on the highway part i can not keep her under 75kmph..you guys know that feeling, right?? ), superb handling and a hell of a pick up (no need for flamewars..o my bigger cc-ed fellow riders...just a personal feeling.. ). the bike feels great. OK. I admit. I am in love with her .

But, for the past 1-2 weeks, I am facing two problems...
            1. When I am braking at high speed (I disk first and drum second, keeping 2-3 second gap between them..) i feel a slight lateral oscillation (god, did i spell that right?? I mean i feel the bike is rocking sideways in a very small degree). I know it is not crosswinds, because I get this in every condition. From the pearls of knowledge I have gathered from XBHP, I think it may be bent alloys/low tire pressure (was that too dumb??)/as a bike repair shop said "shocker problem haay".

            2. When I apply the disk, sometimes (say 5 times out of 10), I hear a scraping sound. When it is not there, it is butter smooth. When it is there, not only I can hear iit, I can also feel it in the handlebars..

My next service (6th) is due after another 800kms..so give it to me guys...should i get her checked immidiately?? or can i carry on riding?? what exactly is the problem?? tell me she will be all right, doctor.... (ok that was too much)

thanks for reading this long post (cant help, i'm a pretty talkative fellow...) and thans in advance for any help..

When my cone set was kaput I had this oscillation every now and then. Tried it by tighting the set. And when that too failed to work. I replaced the set. And also, in my old pulsar this used to happen when the swing arm bush got damaged(as per mechanic). Just sharing my experience.
Love the ride, not the destination

Gotcha. Will try to intimidate the service centre guy/bike mechanic with this cone set gyaan...but did not get the swing arm part...swing arm is the join-the-rear-wheel-to-bike thingy, right? (other than the rear suspensions of course) that being f-ed up can cause oscillations? anyway, thanks for the reply. How long can I continue riding like this? Is it dangerous?

                • in my opinion the right way of braking is to apply rear brake first and than the front.this helps in maintaining the balance during high speed braking.but as rix said,it could be due to cone set damage.get the Disk checked for the sound. I wonder if wheel balancing has something to do with this oscillations problem.

My Opinion check disk pads, As sachin said the right way to brake is back first and then front... Please try that. Also check the cone set. Any ways take the bike only to ASC and not a LOCAL mechanic.. Taking to ASC always have an advantage of making them accountable to what they do just in case u r not satisfied you can write to HONDA MOTORCYCLES AND SCOOTERS INDIA CEO @ [email protected] and Operations head at [email protected] please use these as last resorts only guys!!!!

dont know if I am misinterprating... but here (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/art-safe...0-braking.html) people are preaching engaging disk first and drum second.. confused!

Read you owners maual>>>> It always tells u to engage both brakes simultaneously.. Always if u have to apply one brake first and other later then back first and front second... I do understand in xtreme emergencies front is applied suddenly... But such an emergency can be avoided if we predict and drive I mean if u see a by lane ahead expect a biker/car to suddenly jump out of it and come on road in wrong direction.. If u see a ball rolling expect a kid to follown it and act accordingly even if the kid does not come you will be safe always these are just examples there are hundreds of such things you can imagine and keep yourself safe in city riding.... I have not done any modifications as of now. Stock is good for me just thinking of changing the headlamp bulb to 55/60 philps but that after borrowing a freinds bulb and seeing how it works on twister
