BTW ride safe fyber.. Twister is meant for avg speed in the range of 60-70 kmph... I have on wettest highways done till 70 and had control.. I belive anything above this will bring in limitations especially during emergency breaking due to the rear tyre specs... Also be light on the bike and use it sensibly...... Its a great quality product from Honda in the commuter segment... meant for returning mileage..... of 65-70kmpl in city and 75+ on higways ofcourse with regular maintance and sensible riding ** Condition apply

    • will test my top speed this week.agree with you all Twister needs long stretch of empty road of over 1.5 km to break 100km/hr barrier, which is not possible in city.last time i could not continue beyond top speed of 95km/hr as the speed increase is just too slow after 90 speed and also ran out of empty road.I will do following things to get maximum speed.
      1)fill up maximum tyre pressure
      2)Lub the chain
3)scorching the body towards fuel tank to reduce wind resistance
3)remove sari Guard and other unwanted stuff.
4)Increase Air fuel ratio a bit(not recommended for daily use)
5)ride in morning as traffic is less and no wind.

This happens to me while I ride too long in high speed. After riding the bike for a few minutes at high speed, I get a safe feeling at that speed . But the fact is that its a false feeling. I tend to relax like I'm riding at 40kmph. Which can cause accident coz we respond very casually when there is a situation. So I need to forcefully remind my mind that I'm doing 100 and it needs lot of care and caution. I guess most of the guys have this problem. you might have noticed vehicles trailing other vehicles very closely at high speed. If the vehicle in front brakes the trailing guy wont even get the time to touch the brake pedal. Please do not forget this while doing 3 digit speed.

Love the ride, not the destination

I agree twister is meant for average speed, but here is a little story.

Me and a pillion(my frnd) coming towards bangalore from tirupati (nearby chittor). around 7p.m in the eve, its a pretty straight stretch, i am at full throttle and the road is clear except that there is a volvo club class (ksrtc) coming in the opposite direction. the road is wide enough so i dont bother to release the throttle, a glance at the speedo shows i am at 95....

Start of bad time, out of nowhere a yellow board TATA Sumo pops up(tryin to overtake the volvo) (this is still about 800mts away from me) I should have slowed down but instead gave a dim-dip to the mad a$$ in the cage opposite. This a$$ doesnt bother to budge and keeps comin straight in my lane tryin to overtake the bus!!!!!

Slam!!! i squeeze both the brakes(70% rear and 40% front)!!!

To my relief the bike didnt fishtail neither skid!!!! (this is the first emergency stop i am trying on twister doing 90+ kmph!!!) i got it approx to 20's and the fool is still comin hard in my lane about 100ms away, i had to finally pull out of the tarmac to save myself,

I quickly took a U turn, chased him down and then found he was way too high on alcohol!!!!!!

All i have to say is, u can trust twister in an emergency provided u know to handle this baby.

That is why it is a safe practice to mantain a 2 sec or more gap between urself and the vehicle ahead.

If ur open to suggestions... then I suggest u go for the XBHP stickers! One for the tank and another for the rear mudguard. Bike will rock.

Fyber be gentle with disc brakes you have to just apply a lil pressure on the lever and it will take effect.. Wheel locks when u pull it all of a sudden ... For emergency breaking always use both breaks concurrently...

Btw my bike is going for second service in next 10 days ... upgrading the front to disc.... I guess they will change the rim for sure.... clocked 1742km on odo... My cbr will be due to first service on 1st Nov... I am keeping Honda ASC on toes They are taking extra care on my bikes and so all the servicing happens in front of me.. I hold the service coupon in hand and take stock of the things they have done against things mentioned only then I sign

Ramesh, what is the estimated cost for upgrading to Disk?also during second service if you get the chance to see servicing happening in front of you...do make a video clip..the mechanic will be under double pressure as you have the video evidence of the job he has done.also you will get to know all the things about servicing. I have not yet figured out how to open/clean oil filter of Twister..do let me know if you get to know on this.
