How regularly do i have to do it? I know the SC changes it every service. Is that enuf? I regularly give my bike for servicing. Right now the bike has a viscous air filter right? should i change that? I have finished 7k km on my bike. But am not happy with mileage. I get aroud 55-60kmpl. Should i inform the SC? I ride with minimal use of clutch and brakes. Mostly maintain 60kmph or below. There are times when i'm in hurry i ride at 80kmph. thrice i touched 100kmph. and only once 110kmph. Once in the beginning, when the bike had done only 750km i had taken it to 80kmph. But that was only once. Till 1000km i have ridden at 40kmph only.

Maintenance chart is given on user manual on page 42-43.check the chart..in that chart ( 'I' stands for inspect,'C' stands for clean and 'R' stands for replace)maintenance to be done according to the Kilometers mentioned.
oil change@ 2k(if using honda mineral oil)
      spark plug change before 9k
Air filter change before 15k (Viscous Filter is good)
If you are doing regular service from Honda then make sure they follow that chart..but in my experience they dont.also you must do chain lubrication/cleaning every 300-400 km..due to open chain system it gets dry/dirty fast...and this can lower fuel efficiency. 55-60kmpl is not bad...just a bit low.For better mileage try to accelerate gradually and smoothly.

Good to be back after a long time. Had taken my twister for a long spin across AP.
Here is all i did spending on repairs in the 14 months of the riding..
Done 30k (about to do 31k)..
Got the chain sprocket replaced 1200/-
changed the air filter twice 150*2 (approx)
Spark plugs* (3 nos) 120 rs each (approx).
          Changed engine oil every 2.5k
Currently using motul chain spray.(very much req, considering the open chain)
My twister has never let me down! At times i have rode in flooded roads where the whole silencer is under water, just kept my rpm high and it easily pulled through, Done stretches of 140 to 150 kms non stop and still no issues!

Current mileage after having the new chain sprocket is around 75
(Highway riding as i am yet to get back to city commute).

          * just something i came across, Hero Honda Passion Pro also uses the same NGK spark plugs, cross checked the model numbers also. So the next time the showroom is out of plugs, u know where to find them.
          Good going and nice pic

The price is negligible for the risk what we take on our commuting. But it's less practical for daily usage. Cannot leave it on the bike(coz of thieves), cannot take it with us to the office, heavy etc etc.
So I bought an ordinary jacket for Rs400. Then I cut out the inner lining. Removed the thin layer of sponge. I bought two arm pads (Rs110) used by cricketers. Bought 1 meter of polythene sponge(the name is not correct). It's a plasticky thing looks somewhat like sponge. Its a half inch thick sheet. Cut out the sheet for the shoulders, back and elbows. I used it as 2 layers..making it one inch thick. Covered each parts in clothes and stitched. Then stitched them to the perviously removed inner lining on appropriate parts. Then stitched the inner lining back to the jacket. I did everything my self. It was very difficult as it was my first time using sewing machine. You can take help of anybody who knows how to stitch.
It's amateurish but i think it can save us from getting bruised in small crashes and skids. Never got a chance to test it .
Its difficult to get such jacket for regular office use...and expensive too.In summer it may start sweating all over.During accidents the first thing any person tends to do is protect himself from impact by touching hands to ground and thus gets bad bruises on hands and fingers. Is their any cheap riding glows in market?

I use Cramster's hand gloves. Basically, I'm a penny pincher. But a bad accident made me to buy it(Rs1000). It was a sudden decision just after the crash so I couldn't research too much. Later on in ebay I found out a few cheaper(but good) ones. But mine cannot be used in rain. I'm still searching for something than can be worn even in rain. But most of them cost more than 2.5k. Here is a link for a cheaper one.

Push the engine oil to 2.5k kms.
The chain lubrication shouldnt be dependent on the kms run, jus see if the chain is dry or full of dirt,
clean it and lube it. Easy way of finding out is the chain starts to make lot of noise as there is a lot of mud and slush piling up.

U gotta screw the ASC next time the bike goes in, make it loud and clear that the mileage has dropped, probably requires some tuning.

Luckily i have found a good mech in my hometown who knows this baby really well.
So, no more stupid asc for me!

Baazi, Did your local mech used Tachometer for tuning?I have done tuning by listening to engine RPM/sound,though i think using techo will give better results.

the person is my relative so usually leave the bike with him for a day or two before taking delivery at my home.

                            • Sachin, the spark plug model number written in the bill is (31916-ksp-861). It seems this number is for their internal reference. May be not the exact model number. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the cover of the plug to check the model number.

                              • Yup...that number seems to be for their own reference. anyways it can still be found out from spark plug itself....
