@Ramesh,do let let us know how long a bottle of chain spray normally lasts..will do some calculation and do capital investment in chain spray if necessary .
A horn repair shop will help you to replace the diaphgram.. If that is the problem.. But do check the battery voltage.. for proper .. voltage... Also Diamond chain spray from TDIC.(A reputed company) is available for Rs 55 a bottle which can be used twice

so guys how about Twister 125cc with 13BHP and 90 kMPL?
I would say just add mono shock suspension and bigger Tyre to above, and it will be one hell of killer city bike.

Ramesh, scooter and bike engine are both same...difference lies in transmission system.while Bikes use gear system scooters use automatic transmission system.here is a perfect example....Honda Activa and CB Twister use exactly same 110cc engine,Activa has Automatic Transmission(hence it is Gear less)while Twister has gears.Honda first made 110cc engine and used it on Activa then later used same engine on Twister using gears.both Automatic and gears system have their own pros and cons. Automatic transmission gives freedom from changing gears but it gives approx 15-20% lower mileage and pickup while gear system used in bike with same engine gives better pick up & mileage but you need to keep changing gears according to traffic condition.
among cars good example is Maruti Astar....its available in both Automatic and geared version having same K10 engine.
so they will use the new engine in scooter first and then later use same engine in bike...as they did with Activa and Twister.

          • I think other members should share their knowledge and experience more freely...on all things..doesn't matter how small or irrelevant it is. I can see many owners posting their problems and then disappearing after getting it solved..like they say "kama purta mama"...in marathi
some of the things we should all discuss here are..
1)how the bike works/feels/performance gain after changing to new Air filter
2)Any one using Iridium spark plug?
3)what all parts replaced since you bought the bike/long term report.
            4)experience with different engine oils
5)Do it yourself guide(DIY)..if you have done any maintenance.
6)any modification, sticker, paint job done to enhance looks..most welcome
7)lastly difficulties faced due to over smart Honda mechanics and how you screwed their A$$ and got the work done.

I agree with U Sachin for point 7 I have already penned couple of responses on how i screwed their A$$ and BalL$... DIY for chain maintanance I am not duplicating as Pinakiji has already put it in place. I am getting a city mileage between 65 and 70 kmpl varies as per traffic conditions

Hi, I have changed spark plug, air filter and engine oil myself recently(of course with all of your help). But couldn't find any significant difference in the ride. The only thing I noticed is that while in idle the engine doesn't stop. Previously, I had to accelerate slightly to keep the engine running in neutral. I didn't check the mileage yet. Will update about it soon.

Rix,good to see you back on forum.Your new spark plug is doing its job very well hence your idling problem has vanished.I have two brand new spark plugs of same model number used on twister (CPR7EA9 from NGK)one spark gives idling problem just like your old spark, due to this i had to increase idle RPM, while second spark works perfectly without any trouble. I remember you mentioned that your new spark is made by Bosh and not Iridium...do you remember the model number of your new spark?it must be written on the bill or package box if you still have it.Do share it with us...may be its better then stock NGK.

madhav, please be more clear with your questions.Air filter is quite cheap...and lasts 10-15k.Hope you are at least changing the engine oil regularly...

Sorry, I forgot to reply about the plug. I'll post it once I get back home on Saturday. Posts are very less for the past few days as I was suffering from fever. Was just hoping around reading about r15.

                            • Guys, just wanted to share something. I was in search of an armored riding jacket. But even the lowest one (Cramster) costs Rs4000+. The price is negligible for the risk what we take on our commuting. But it's less practical for daily usage. Cannot leave it on the bike(coz of thieves), cannot take it with us to the office, heavy etc etc.
So I bought an ordinary jacket for Rs400. Then I cut out the inner lining. Removed the thin layer of sponge. I bought two arm pads (Rs110) used by cricketers. Bought 1 meter of polythene sponge(the name is not correct). It's a plasticky thing looks somewhat like sponge. Its a half inch thick sheet. Cut out the sheet for the shoulders, back and elbows. I used it as 2 layers..making it one inch thick. Covered each parts in clothes and stitched. Then stitched them to the perviously removed inner lining on appropriate parts. Then stitched the inner lining back to the jacket. I did everything my self. It was very difficult as it was my first time using sewing machine. You can take help of anybody who knows how to stitch.
It's amateurish but i think it can save us from getting bruised in small crashes and skids. Never got a chance to test it .

                              • Hello happy twister owners!!!!

Good to be back after a long time. Had taken my twister for a long spin across AP.
Here is all i did spending on repairs in the 14 months of the riding..
Done 30k (about to do 31k)..
Got the chain sprocket replaced 1200/-
changed the air filter twice 150*2 (approx)
Spark plugs* (3 nos) 120 rs each (approx).
                                Changed engine oil every 2.5k
Currently using motul chain spray.(very much req, considering the open chain)
My twister has never let me down! At times i have rode in flooded roads where the whole silencer is under water, just kept my rpm high and it easily pulled through, Done stretches of 140 to 150 kms non stop and still no issues!

Current mileage after having the new chain sprocket is around 75
(Highway riding as i am yet to get back to city commute).

                                * just something i came across, Hero Honda Passion Pro also uses the same NGK spark plugs, cross checked the model numbers also. So the next time the showroom is out of plugs, u know where to find them.

here is the pic where i am bout to do the 30k.
