Because of the fear of theft I fill only for Rs100. Regarding petrol knob key, there is no popular brands. Not sure if it's available for Twister. I fixed one for my old pulsar. The flip side is carrying another key. I needed to remember to take the key wherever/whenever I park it. Suppose if you go to market/shop and you dont remove the key, there is a chance that some pranksters take the key away.. and u will be stranded in the middle of the marketOriginally posted by sachin1111 View Postthe bike was parked right inside parking lot of our apartment..that too under bright running tube light....but the crooks switched off the light just before doing the act.Now i am keeping very little fuel in fuel tank and fill up every week. They had turned the fuel cock to reserve position...meaning they can remove even reserve fuel......too bad.
. I lost this key once i visited Nandi hills(near bangalore). Fortunately, the security guy found it and kept it with him.
Btw, off topic, my bike has only kick start, is it possible to fit electric start? any idea about the cost?Love the ride, not the destination

Does the petrol knob key needs to kept in the keyhole while the bike is running....like the ignition key? its not a convenient thing..but there is no other choice. Its ok for me to carrying another key.since i already have central locking fitted that can detect smallest of vibration..a petrol knob lock will further discourage them from making any other attempt.Originally posted by rixBhp View PostBecause of the fear of theft I fill only for Rs100. I need to know if fuel knob locks come in different models for different bikes or its common for all?since Twister is relatively new bike in market and much less number on road compared to splendor and pulsar,i don't think lock makers will release specific model for Twister. If some one can upload pics then we can guess if it will work for twister.I have not seen any such locks before..so its difficult for me to comment on this.
I think this lock has another advantage....suppose if a robber starts the bike with duplicate key & runs away then bike will stop automatically after fuel inside carburator is consumed within approx 200-300 meters & robber wont waste his time breaking fuel lock as he is not far away from place he robbed the bike.most probably he will abandon the bike & flee.
regarding electric start..better to contact Honda ASC...as starter motor is the main component to be installed.Last edited by sachin1111; 10-30-2011, 06:39 PM.

Sachin Yes the kry needs to be kept in the hole while the bike is running..... Which central locking have you fitted for your twister? What is the impact on electricals.... What cost? I am planning for CLS on both my twister and CBR 250R....Originally posted by sachin1111 View PostDoes the petrol knob key needs to kept in the keyhole while the bike is running....like the ignition key? its not a convenient thing..but there is no other choice. Its ok for me to carrying another key.since i already have central locking fitted that can detect smallest of vibration..a petrol knob lock will further discourage them from making any other attempt.

Hi All,
I have been facing this problem for a while now. At 40-50kmph, my Twister just gives a sudden jerk, a forward thrust, sort of, but it is inconsistent. Have tried my best to replicate the scenario to ASC guys, local mechanics, but it seems , problem is not yet solved. Some say, there is a blockage in some pipe, some say, the spark plug has gone old, some say, chain problem... I am confused. Kindly help.

Try at a local STICKERING SHOP. Guys who do stickering, rim taping thing and all. get the sticker made there. Twister took a gentle fall today...I was pulling it back and out of blue, it just slipped out of my hand. The leg guard saved the fall and only a small part of the silencer got scratched. Not noticeable though. It took more than 4-5 electric start tries to restart. The only other problem is, it feels bit rough now as I can feel the vibrations in the handle bar. The fall was also gentle. I just can't point out how it has become like that. Need help. Thanks.

I am using CLS from "Roots"....they are popular makers of Horns.cost 1500 including installation. there is no impact on electrical system as long as you are using the bike on regular basis....but if bike is not used continuously for over a week then battery voltage goes down which may affect electricals due to low voltage. In my opinion, bike usage of around 50km/week is sufficient to the keep battery level charged.Originally posted by rameshap View PostSachin Yes the kry needs to be kept in the hole while the bike is running..... if possible get it installed from the place of purchase....as it must installed according to wiring diagram given in manual without any error.you can even start the bike by pressing a button on remote if the bike has self start.Last edited by sachin1111; 11-01-2011, 10:29 AM.

I had this problem at 70kmph speed.....got it solved during 3rd service.my bike was not able to cross 70kmph speed due to thrust/jerk like thing.Honda mechanic was not able to solve it ...he had checked everything from right from carburetor and even ECU.had to leave the bike at Honda ASC for nearly 2 days....they finally did solved the problem.they told me that there was some problem with the air pipe...i dont know if this is true..i felt they were hiding something. After this problem got solved..my bike was showing better pick up and top speed then before but mileage had went down a bit.Originally posted by Ronits View PostHi All,

Try cleaning the carbureator jets at ASC also check the quality of fuel. These are the most popular causes for this issue. Chain will rarely cause this (May if links are jammed.... rare though if maintained properly)..
Spark plug needs to be changed only after 9k kms U can clean the spark plug regularlyif u r riding in dusty conditions

Hey, thanks for the info... the cleaning part looks fine, fuel quality,umm..Im not sure, coz I have filled from most of the leading brands, the same problem stays. Ya, I maintain the chain properly, proper chain alignment, lubrication..so,ya, seems chain will rarely cause this problem... cleaning spark plug is a good idea though... coz last time a local mechanic just took out the spark plug and put it in again, this prob seemed to have disappeared for sometime, before it came back again..so, cleaning the plug looks like a good option..lets c..

Air pipe! I will have to tell the mechanic to check this thing out...
. Thanks man... And, in case, you approach the ASC guys anytime to know the exact problem your bike had, do let me know...

Hi All,
Now my bike is approaching 5000Kms, can you guys suggest me some minor changes that I can do for some performance and maintenance improvement? I mean, using semi-synthetic engine oil, hi-octane petrol, NGK Iridum spark plugs available with DSG... Also changing viscous air filter... Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
