  • ^^^ exactly, as i mentioned, most people will not take care of the bike as you expect them to. It's a risk, and you are better off storing the bike (the basic procedure/care steps will be provided in the user manual for long storage).
and if you are renting it, the other guy should be taking care of the regular services (from what i see since its just around 6 months) which should be at the max 1 or 2 services/oil changes if ridden for around 6000km in 6 months.

Just wondering why do you have 2 cbr's

Having 2 two cbr's is actually a funny story :P.. i so wanted a cbr after my pulsar gave up ( i didnt care much for the bike then and the engine just died at 68k kms). .. after great looking and searching i could not afford to get a bew cbr250r and 150r was no where in scene so just got a second hand one in excellent condition (Red/9k kms/ serviced every 1500-2k kms proof provided/polished regularly/scratchless/almost like new except for rust on exhaust heat shield-got it replaced later) from an acquaintance after negotiations for around 95k incl. name change and reg change (as it was MH reg). yeah i already had got a new Twister (also red) 2months before this.. ..

now my mother knew i so wanted a cbr but was not aware i got a second hand one (being in different states and all that ) so she somehow decided to get me one.. contacted my uncle here and arranged to get me one as a surprise ..and i had no clue about this.. i told her i got the bike i wanted though second hand .. but about 6 months later i get the New cbr250r. shocking to all i already had one :P. but this one was BRAND SPANKING NEW ..BLACCCKKKKK !!. (lovely mother ryt ? i knoe ::P .. love her so much_). my mum thought i was talking about the twisty for the past few months.. i decided to keep both so that when time comes my brother can use one for regular use but he didnt want a cbr now and we got him a 2nd hand twister white (again great cond/4.5k kms/@rs40k)..
thats most of the story .. mum now and then suggests that i sell the second hand cbr ..but i am a bit relentless as i feel i can afford to keep it and it comes in handy quite a lot whn we friends go hang out as a group .. in city mosty take out the twisty as in chennai traffic especially around tidel park its perfect to cut through.. but whn off pear hours or trips longer than 40kms the cbr comes to party.. keep shuffling between bikes and my brother between the twisters... ..

Anyone tried to change the handle bar on your bike? And does anyone have an idea if I can use different switch assembly on the handlebar? Like ones with a kill switch and a pass light switch?

It seems nobody has changed handlebar....but why you want to change it? i feel sitting position of twister is quite good. however If you want to change the handlebar then take a handlebar from a bike which already has passlight/ engine kill switch....that way it will not require modification and by doing a proper electrical connection it should work.

I want a wider stance. I'm not going to get any fancy ones. Looking at the fz or old pulsar 150 handlebars.

Seen a couple of times when a second hand cbr comes for under one lakh. Anywhere between 95k-1.05l is a good deal.

ok, and how many km run bike should i be looking for that price? In case there is any scratched paint etc,I can also replace the painted portion like flaring, silecer cover etc to make it look like brand new.

Well. One guy was willing to sell off his cbr at 98k and it had run about 9k km. Im guessing he was in a hurry. I'd say a cbr between 15-20k will be priced at 1.05.

                          • Hi All
My Twister is 30 months old and have completed 19800kms. Will post an ownership review shortly. Was looking for a 100/90-17. With Zapper C on mind went to the dealer this weekend and got quote of Rs.2175 with fitment (Changemytyre.com says 2000). When I was about to finalize this just asked about other brands and was informed about Michelin Pilot Sporty and CEAT's New Tubeless Tyre. Now I already knew about Michelin and didn’t want it. Also knew Ceat has Vertigo sports tubeless and expecting that button pattern tyres, I was surprised to see the new worm pattern tyre. It ‘felt’ it would perform better and actually was looking good and ‘felt’ little wider. It is called CEAT ZOOM Tubeless. Dealer quotes 2000Rs for this tyre, with 2 yr guarantee and promises it will last 30-35K kms and will perform ahead of Zapper. Now I am confused. Have seen a Twister with Vertigo but have not seen any bike with this ZOOM.. So thought of surfing for reviews before finalizing. To my surprise couldn’t find any on net.I am not able to checkout Ceat website as of now Please help is it a safe bet to go for this CEAT ZOOM? .

Anybody tried sprocketing here? It's time I changed the chain and sprockets on my baby now. Done 20k and had 2 chain slips. I want to overgear. Any suggestions? Unicorn sprocket will fit?

I just changed it yesterday at 19800kms. Checked for the same in two of the Honda SCs. I was bluntly quoted Rs2000 by one and 1600-1800 by another. Ignored them and checked out a spare parts dealer. Went for a LGB Rolon. The dealer said that Rolon is used as OE kit by Honda(not sure about this though). Having known about LGB already I went for it. MRP was Rs1170, Paid 1000Rs and 150Rs for labour(including few petty things). There is a perfect fit for Twister with Rolon.
