  • HI guys.. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. ., seems i have missed a bit here, ..

so this is the problem , my brother is complaining of some sort of oil residue forming even after repeated cleaning arount the crank head cover over the heat fins, Y would this be ?? engine oil was replaced recently only by him.. even i noticed it once while i was riding my bike but cleaned it thinking it was just something that got stuck while regular driving .

SO again the oil around the fins at the engine crank case head ..?? y could that be ?

between top end of fins and cylinder head there is a black gasket......oil could be leaking from the gasket.show it to Honda ASE....there could be is a leakage around rocker arm and tappets....or may be the gasket is damaged. hope you have not overfilled the oil during last oil change...oil level must not be above maximum level on dipstick.... i.e exactly 800ml oil and not 1 litre.

        • today i opened the Air chamber.....for inspection. noticed just 1-2 drops oil collected near the entrance of crankcase breather tube. other then this there was a very thin layer of carbon around the wall of air chamber....these are probably the fumes generated inside engine when engine oil becomes hot during high speed runs.with no filter and metal filter net in place...i tried to operated the kick lever and noticed it hardly required any force to operate the kicker. check attached pics showing Twister's air chamber.

          • Hello guys where can i buy Honda speedometer cable in chennai. i went to service centre in velacherry - asked them speedo cable - service guy looked at my face. as if i am the first person in the whole world to buy honda spare part in their showroom. after 30secs of staring at my face - they said " Outstock" . BUllshit i know they are having it. they refuse to give it to customer. i my self can change the cable. they want to charge bullshit like labour charge. they want to give my bike to them to change that cable.

                  • Guys! facing a problem. the handle bar is wobbling over 60kmph. first felt this during a rush hour ride when I was literally ripping the bike for 35kms like sudden accelerations, hard breakings, frequent 10-40 in second, 20-65 in 3rd gear, and speeds upto 90kmph. All with a 100kg pillion rider. I felt a change during this ride. Off late whenever i am crossing 60kmph, the steering wobbles if i tend to take off my hands slightly from the handle bar. is this due to loose nut bolts or alignment prob with wheel or Any specific issue?

Also, feel the engine is not feeling smooth as it used to be. For the past 7500 kms it is running on Shell Fully synthetic 10W40 oil. I witnessed immediate smoothness and performance the first time i changed to this oil from mineral. I was given 7500kms range for this oil but started feeling the roughness from around 6900kms and changed it at 7000kms and feel the engine is rough even after the oil change. Changed to shell fully synthetic when the Odo read 13000kms. Currently odo reads 20500.
from the time i bought the bike, have felt vibrations creeping through handle bar as early as 50-55kmph, and no change till now. I am used to live with it.
Any specific issue u guys see or its just a feel of mine?

I have been using only shell normal petrol for last 11000kms. Mileage has always been around 55-65kmpl.

                    Ride safe,

wobbling can be due to problem with tyre or there could be issues with Front forks or both. get front forks checked....may be the oil inside forks has gone bad and needs to be changed. If the tyre had suffered puncture in past...then probably its nearing its life cycle. regarding engine smoothness.....better switch to 10W30 in winter.....i am not in favor of full synthetic oil of 20W40 grade and that too for 6900km...is too long...it must have gone bad by now...you should have changed it between 4-5k.

Thanks sachin1111, Will have the forks checked. I have checked the tyre and no big issue. Have not got any puncture so far and the wear is also even. The Shell Fully Synthetic Oil am using is not 20W40 and it is 10W40 and the range given was 7000kms/1yr. And i have changed it already. It is just that i feel the smoothness which use to be there earlier isnt there.

                          • I have a serious problem with my twister these days, whenever I start in morning (cold) the bike starts in one self but when i give gas the engine stops with a blast sound from area around spark plug , is this the problem with the spark plug or carb. setting ?? this problem continues till 2 to 3 kms till engine is not warmed up ..!!

                              • the mech took out the glass from the headlight to fit angel light , then he again fixed it with silicon glue(with machine) , u won't even come to know that the glass was even opened to do this work, he fixed a separate switch near handle bar as twister does not have separate switch for parking lights or the light used during dusk ...
