getting spares for twister is really very hard.
currently getting a mileage of 65-70.
the reading on odometer is 19k. i just want to know what all should be replaced now?
except air filter i have not replaced anything since 2 years.
i use castrol power 1 15w40 oil. is it good? i decided to stick to only one oil. and i change it myself becas mechanics never drain the old oil properly.
this is how i change the oil:
1. drive some 20 kms at night. and before going to sleep i start the drain process. i leave it like that all through the night. next morning i tilt the bike sideways to get the leftover oil if there is any.
2. i then empty the whole 1 litre of castrol power 1 into the bike.
now i have heard that twister has only 900ml capacity. is it harmful to put 1 litre?
secondly my battery is dead since 6 months. iam buying a new one so need ur advice.
sealed batteries cannot be repaired and once out, we have to trow them.
there r 2 batteries in my mind:
1.exide xpack zktp4
2. tata green 5L-B
first one is a sealed vrla battery, second one is a flooded lead acid. now according to me flooded lead acid have longer life, as they can be even repaired. or maintained to optimum performance by adding electrolytes. sealed batteries dont have this provision.
i have talked to many battery dealers, all recommended exide vrla sealed battery. i think they get more commision in it.
here is the cost iam getting both the batteries:
1. exide vrla xpack zkpt4 ---1100rs
2. tata green 5L-B----1070 rs.
plz suggest me guys which battery should i go for.
thanks in advance, i will be a regular visitor and poster in this thread
btw happy holi to all.

which battery are u using bro?Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View Postfor extra 37rs you can get a genuine one.Even in my area showroom they are not selling the spare parts. But i got a contact with Honda genuine parts dealer. So i always purchase all the parts for my twister & also for my father aviator.
55rs/lit
Here i'm paying 70re/lit
YOu must change your Spark plug
ya i couldn't even get a engine oil drain bolt.
You a doing a perfect way of draining the engine oil.
In the beginning I'm also did the same mistake of filling 1L of engine oil.
I'm heavily using My battery for past 2yrs.But still it's working perfectly.
I don't think your battery is dead.
Have you ever tried to recharge your Battery. If not first recharge it in a exide show room. If it's getting charge then change your Rectifier & check the stator coil.If not charging buy a new MF battery like Exide VRLA
Engine oil should change every 2500kms else engine ll get strain a lot.The shop guys are always tell like this to sell the product.

asc hah. well all the time its so much rush there. if i give the bike to a showroom, they tell me to come at evening 6. i cant ruin all my day like that. local mechanics are better where the work is done in 1 to 2 hours.Originally posted by rameshap View PostEven a ASC u can supervise the operation I do for my bike. the air sucksion capability of paper air filter is very poor compared to kn filters. have any of u shifted to other types of air filters?
check out this video. he has compared paper and kn filters with a device setup. its clearly visible that paper filters are poor in performance.

even my bike struggles after 60kmph. i can feel it. i really miss a fift gear. the pickup is very slow. its hard to overtake other vehecles. u have to think twice before overtaking. plus at higher speeds the bike handling is not good. it feels unstable. i have had a maximum speed of 120kmph in this bike and believe me it was feeling like the engine was going to blow up.Originally posted by rameshap View PostFyber read my report twister engine DOES NOT struggle to pull the bike I had done 92km constant at 85 kmph no vibration smooth sound... no over heating I fail to understand why you are underestimating something... Bike engines are designed to run 100's of Kms without rest at high tempratures,.. Its the skill and capability of the rider that decides most of the cases....

Saebar its maintanance problems my twister never struggles till speedo hits 90kmph....Yes 5th gear was needed but have never struggled. Mileage 72kmpl in city and 80+ on highways always... Maintainace only at Honda ASC. Please be informed that if you have an extended warranty that is void if you dont service at ASC. Tou built a rapport with ASC guys...Use genuine parts ... and follow proper maintanace schedule check the diffrence for your self.. ask anyone on forum how I maintain my twister
Refer Manual.. its given I am not sure whether you have read the twister user manualOriginally posted by Saeber View Postwhen is the right time to replace chain and sprocket. after how many kilimeters in odo?

Sachin advised you to stick to stock and that is what even I advise. Honda spents laks of rupees on R&D before they design a part for a bike Now if you would like to try diffrent things do so at your own risk. forum does not encourage that... k&n is not a direct fit and your FE will be scrwedOriginally posted by Saeber View Postthe air sucksion capability of paper air filter is very poor compared to kn filters. have any of u shifted to other types of air filters?

If you buy SMF battery try to find Amaron ProBiker series , If you want Flooded Lead Acid type, try SF-Sonic(made by exide but cheap and very good) ...both in the correct size & amp-hr rating for your bike .Originally posted by Saeber View Postwhich battery are u using bro?
Doh , the max I have done on my splendor+ is 70kmph .. I think , lucky you . It's good that you think twice before overtakes , keeps you alert . Someday you take that slim chance without thinking , luck will run out , have seen it happen . I don't wanna die early riding 100cc machines at 100+ speedsOriginally posted by Saeber View Posteven my bike struggles after 60kmph. i can feel it. i really miss a fift gear. the pickup is very slow. its hard to overtake other vehecles. u have to think twice before overtaking. plus at higher speeds the bike handling is not good. it feels unstable. i have had a maximum speed of 120kmph in this bike and believe me it was feeling like the engine was going to blow up.
.
Air suction capacity of the stock filter is just sufficient to feed the bike's engine, and it's filtration efficiency is tested by the manufacturer to be adequate ... no matter how much cfm air your filter can pass the engine can consume only as much . Moreover air passing capacity is not the only measure for an air filter's performance . What about it's filtering ability / efficiency ? Free flowing filters like K&N also pass more (and larger sized) dust into the engine ... and fails completely when wet; which is unacceptable in the dusty and wet conditions we get in India , it's the same as dirt-biking or desert biking on our roads . Very little dirt is needed to polish off the engine bore and bearings to early death . Let alone disposable paper , I feel that oil-wet-ed foam is best for our bikesOriginally posted by Saeber View Postthe air sucksion capability of paper air filter is very poor compared to kn filters. have any of u shifted to other types of air filters?
