  • btw i got twister in april 2010. iam from hyd. it used to give a milege of 75kmpl. free services from autofin mehtipatnam were very good. later i tried adi honda and pratul honda , believe me guys after servicing from them my milage was 45. when i went back to them they just ignored me. anyhow from that day onwards i never gave my bike to showrooms, instead i rely on local mechanics where i can supervise the whole servicing session.
getting spares for twister is really very hard.
currently getting a mileage of 65-70.
the reading on odometer is 19k. i just want to know what all should be replaced now?
except air filter i have not replaced anything since 2 years.
i use castrol power 1 15w40 oil. is it good? i decided to stick to only one oil. and i change it myself becas mechanics never drain the old oil properly.
this is how i change the oil:
    1. drive some 20 kms at night. and before going to sleep i start the drain process. i leave it like that all through the night. next morning i tilt the bike sideways to get the leftover oil if there is any.

    2. i then empty the whole 1 litre of castrol power 1 into the bike.

now i have heard that twister has only 900ml capacity. is it harmful to put 1 litre?

secondly my battery is dead since 6 months. iam buying a new one so need ur advice.
sealed batteries cannot be repaired and once out, we have to trow them.
there r 2 batteries in my mind:
    1.exide xpack zktp4
    2. tata green 5L-B

first one is a sealed vrla battery, second one is a flooded lead acid. now according to me flooded lead acid have longer life, as they can be even repaired. or maintained to optimum performance by adding electrolytes. sealed batteries dont have this provision.
i have talked to many battery dealers, all recommended exide vrla sealed battery. i think they get more commision in it.
here is the cost iam getting both the batteries:

    1. exide vrla xpack zkpt4 ---1100rs
    2. tata green 5L-B----1070 rs.

plz suggest me guys which battery should i go for.

thanks in advance, i will be a regular visitor and poster in this thread

    btw happy holi to all.

    • how much fuel does the lines ( markings ) in fuel indicator meter?
i mean how much petrol will be consumed when the reading decreases from one marking ( line ) to other?

i dont think its a very precise way to measure.

            I think 3k to 4k is way to much for a semi-synth.
Oil change around 2500 kms should be good.

that 100 Rs filter will do lot of harm to engine and you may end up paying huge money on engine repairs/maintenance in future.my advice...throw that filter out and get the genuine one for just 35 Rs more.the stock filter can be used for up to 15000km.....so till then you have enough time to search for genuine one.

those markings do not indicate any fixed quantity....and they are not accurate. to get approximate number count the the Km reading on odometer as the fuel indicator passes each line. This number will vary depending on mileage you are getting.

                        btw happy holi to all.
Your mileage is descent so need not worry. Engine oil capacity is 800ml...so why are you putting 900ml?..thats not good for engine...surely its harmful.there is a oil level marker on the dip stick....one is low level mark and other is high level mark.oil level must not go above high level mark and also do not fall below low level mark.anywhere between low and high mark is fine.Honda 10W30 and 20W40 bottle comes with 800ml bottle which is the exact amount needed after draining.
After riding you should immediately start draining oil...i.e do not wait for engine to cool. Hot oil flows down much better then cold oil...and thats the purpose of taking a short ride before draining. your oil changing intervals are too high. reduce it to 2000km. If you are going to use semi-synthetic oil then it will cause slight drop in fuel efficiency. thinner oil like 10W30 will give better mileage then 20W40.I do not have much idea about castrol oil and honestly there are better oils available in market.

regarding battery, the Maintenance free type do not require any top up and they last as much long as normal type.so you are saving on the cost involved on future top ups.you can go for exide vrla xpack zkpt4.....because its maintenance free type and costs nearly same as Tata green. any idea on the rating of exide battery...ie capacity in Ampere-hour?

ok i will do 1 thing tommorrow. i will drain the oil in a clean vessel and then put back the 800ml. thanks a lot sachin for this advice. iam a novice in such stuff. i thought filling more will lubricate the engine more hehehe
btw i have been filling 1000ml since past 10000kms. i think by now i must have done enough damage to the bike

OK..once you find the original try to get one extra filter so that you do not face same situation again. changing the spark plug is recommended every 9000km( as per user manual).so get a new spark plulg as well.the spark plug model number CPR7EA9 from NKG. it comes in red color package box with "Honda genuine parts" written on package box.

ya i couldn't even get a engine oil drain bolt.

You a doing a perfect way of draining the engine oil.
In the beginning I'm also did the same mistake of filling 1L of engine oil.

I'm heavily using My battery for past 2yrs.But still it's working perfectly.
I don't think your battery is dead.
Have you ever tried to recharge your Battery. If not first recharge it in a exide show room. If it's getting charge then change your Rectifier & check the stator coil.If not charging buy a new MF battery like Exide VRLA

Engine oil should change every 2500kms else engine ll get strain a lot.The shop guys are always tell like this to sell the product.
