  • I got my fourth service done on Saturday. Bike has been great till now. I've clocked just 5k on the odo. Mileage was still a problem before the service. I complained to them yet again but I really doubt if they have done anything. Thankfully all four free services are over and I do not need to give my bike to the Honda service station.

hi lineinfire!!although mileage depends on riding style,40-45 is way too low man.i hope you are not getting cheated from fuel station.anyway, check using 4 liter of fuel from reserve to reserve.follow these two most important tips from my side.1)riding between 40-50km/hr in 4th gear gives maximum mileage.2)tyre pressure is very important.if you r riding single, you can keep it slightly higher at 28psi for front and 35psi for rear.3)lubricate the chain regularly.if you dont want to spend on chain lubrication, then just use your old engine oil.its better to use it rather than running your chain dry.also do not forget to put the choke OFF while riding.if everything else fails dont worry, you can check and tune your bike for better mileage,it can be easily done by mechanic having tachometer used for checking RPM.one more thing is the fuel gauge reading in my twister is not accurate with respect to amount of fuel put i.e after riding bike for 10 minutes,it shows slightly higher reading on fuel gauge so keep that in mind.

All points read and noticed. But I'm following most the things you mentioned. I ride mostly in mid 40s so that shouldn't be a problem. Tyre pressure being checked in weekly. Ya for the chain lubrication, it hasn't been done. The chain seems clean to me. Anyway, will give for lubrication. Let's see if the mechanic can do tune the bike when go for next servicing. Fingers crossed.

        • using cycle pump

does anyone know if using cycle pump for topping up of Tyre pressure is safe?i know its gonna be hard work and i dont mean on regular basis but if you cant find a compressor based air filling or in some emergency at odd hours. actually i met a bike rider on my way on highway passing through jungle, who had flat tyre on his splendor.with no help he was trying to fill using cycle pump from a some house in jungle just to fill it to some extent to reach home.

              • Its funny, cos the Twister and the P-135 were the two bikes I was considering before finally settling for the Twister.

exactly!!me too had finally shortlisted twister & P135,but settled for twister as honda is considered reliable, besides it was more fuel efficient and new design, where as pulser looks like a poor cousin of elder P150,180..and too common on road.

                  • tuning of CB Twister!!

guys, i am myself trying the tuning process of my twister to get best possible combination of mileage and performance. i have been experimenting for last two months.has anyone tried tuning process? we can share each others experience and help others understand the tuning process.that way we don't have to visit mechanic and do setting according to our own taste,i.e performance, mileage,or combination of both.we can also post photos for exact location of fuel screw and ideal RPM setting screw, using our mobile handset camera.what you guys think on this idea?

Lol the p135 looks strikingly similar to the XCD 135!!! Believe me only the headlight is different, but it is a good bike none the less.
One problem I have been having is a weird sound from the headlight and analog portion. My bike has been through some rough rides and a few bad ditches. Could that be the reason of the sound. I hear two distinctive sounds and they are also temporary. One is the analog plastic thingy kinda getting loose because when I put my hand on the analog console the sound stops. The other sound is heard only when I go through small potholes (mumbai roads, sometimes going through them is the only way). Anybody else having this problem?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

never heard any sound from console area.the only thin sound i heard was of bikes key chain ring that was hitting nearby metal bar.but i have heard the sound of footrest for the pillion rider making occasional noise while riding through path holes.i always keep it folded, and it does not make any sound when folded.hope you got your toolbox secured properly in underseat storage space.

I used to have that sound from the console when I first got my bike. But I told the service station guys about it when I went for my first service and they fixed it I guess since I didn't hear it again after the service.

                          • general query about bike

i am interested to know if riding bike with headlight ON will have any impact on fuel efficiency of bike. Now far as i know, twister headlight does not have a DC set up,i.e it is having A.C set up hence headlight intensity depends on engines RPM.but the horn, turn indicator light, brake light seems to DC set up which means they run on battery power(please correct me if i am wrong).also there is a generator that generated power to light up the headlight. so my question is if i dont use headlight like during daytime, then power used to light up headlight will be saved.so does this mean saving in fuel efficiency?

According to me the petrol saved if saved would be negligible.....Many people with AC setup's drive with their headlight on...
