rajaselvam, thanks for the pics...they look good and dotted black looks better then plain black.by the way don't you think the green strips are bit lighter than paint..or is it due to flash?I am also trying to get similar one for my green Twister....but not finding it here in Goa.Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostSorry sachin1111 i totally forgot to take snaps in day time due to my office tension after seeing your reply only i got remind. So i taken the pics now by using my digital cam with flash.
you can see the black material which is having dots due to this material only he costs me 200 else for normal material which come with bike is for 180
Any idea how to get it?.....i also visits to mumbai due to work but don't know where exactly to search.Last edited by sachin1111; 11-09-2011, 10:20 PM.

Ya you are correct that strip is not exactly like our bike paint its little lighter only but its almost matching 95% to the bike paint.I too searched in many shops but cant get the same colour, that's why finally choosen this one.Originally posted by sachin1111 View Postrajaselvam, thanks for the pics...they look good and dotted black looks better then plain black.by the way don't you think the green strips are bit lighter than paint..or is it due to flash?I am also trying to get similar one for my green Twister....but not finding it here in Goa.

Thank You so much Raj..Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostFirst i congrats to you be a Twister owner.
Even i'm also learned the biking on twister only now completed 20k kms on this.
Ya as you said the back tyre is Skids even more on wet roads. Past two weeks rainy days in chennai my bike got skidded many times but my luck dint get fall down.So I'm thinking to replace my tyre to Michelin Pilot sporty 100x90x17.
Replace the tyre will not affect the warranty. ya mileage will drop few kms
I full chain guard is not available for twister.I too tried lot for this.
Company saying Chain sprocket to change 15k kms but still mine is good due to the maintenance.
Which one is better Michelin or MRF zapper ???..
Adyar honda showroom guy told me, full chain guard for twister is available at puthupet, costs around 400 .. Is that true ???

Thank you Sachin..Originally posted by sachin1111 View Postcongrats on getting your Twister!! The 2.75 tyre size is perfect for twister but the one on shine may not fit for Twister because shine has 18 inch rim while Twister has 17inch rims. Also bigger tyres will reduce mileage by 5+kmpl.skidding can be avoided by using both front & rear brakes simultaneously.
Yes you are right.. both are not the same rims.. Do u think rear tyre change is needed for the twister for a novice like me ???

so far I have done over 10k with stock MRF zappers and they have worked fine for me....no skidding experience even in rains.so from personal experience i do not think there is a need for tyre change.only time i skidded was on applying front brakes hard on loose gravel....so it was more of a wrong breaking technique then blaming the tyres.my suggestion is use the stock tyres for a 2-3k and then decide.Originally posted by Illuminatti View PostThank you Sachin..

Michelin is the best one on grip even on wet surface, but it's soft tyre so will wear soon comparing to MRFOriginally posted by Illuminatti View PostThank You so much Raj..

Full chain guard for twister, thats not at all, i'm nearly searched for one year. you can get some other bike chain guard like Shine one. Even if its available for Twister where will you put it. Have u looked at the swing arm of twister there is no nut for fixing the chain guard in bottom.
But if you seriously want a full guard buy some other bikes chain guard & go to welding shop tell the guy to weld nuts on the swing arm according to the guard holes. But Twister is looks best in Half guard

Ya you are correct by applying the Exact brake ratio the skid will be avoid but not on these tyre.In a hard braking condition these back tyre ll not at all help you.If u look at the back tyre of twister there is no thread in the center. That is the point which ll be in contact with the road all the times except corning. So we cant except grip from this tyreOriginally posted by sachin1111 View Postso far I have done over 10k with stock MRF zappers and they have worked fine for me....no skidding experience even in rains.so from personal experience i do not think there is a need for tyre change.only time i skidded was on applying front brakes hard on loose gravel....so it was more of a wrong breaking technique then blaming the tyres.my suggestion is use the stock tyres for a 2-3k and then decide.
But as you said, at least use the Stock tyre for 5k kms,Bcz we have also paid the money for that tooLast edited by rajaselvam_1987; 11-11-2011, 12:16 AM.

actually the center groove is provided for making a way for water trapped under tyre surface to escape during rains.if the water gets trapped under the tyre surface then water will acts like a lubricant and this will reduce friction thus reduce grip.I think since the tyres are already small.....they did not cut center groove because if they cut centre groove then this will further reduce contact area between tyres and road..thus less grip due to already small tyres.its like ladies High heel sandals v/s normal shoesOriginally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostYa you are correct by applying the Exact brake ratio the skid will be avoid but not on these tyre.In a hard braking condition these back tyre ll not at all help you.If u look at the back tyre of twister there is no thread in the center. That is the point which ll be in contact with the road all the times except corning. So we cant except grip from this tyre

but it still works because of front tyre has a center groove and on a straight road the front tyre clears the water first and the rear tyre simply follows this cleared footstep...thus its not much affected.

Angel Eyes
I added angel eyes to my 11 month year old blue twister.
my friends recommended blue colour but i stuck to white and it looks smashing cause i know this bike cant handle projectors, so this is as good as it gets for me n m satisfied
gonna shift to blue soon
as for the price goes,
250 for the angel eyes
25 for switches n parts
250 for labour
ps: this procedure involves opening the headlight which is sealed with sealant from the company so get it done from a good mechanic ..because if the it cracks its going to set u back rs.650 for a new light original from company
