hey!!!
got back from a 1500km(approx) trip 3hrs ago! bike performed wonderfully!
Very happy... 70kmpl @ avg 80kmph(i weigh 100kg)! There wr Times when i did 110kmph for 5-6 min... but bike screamed punishment ...
Trip from here to ooty-coorg, from there to munnar and back! 3 petrol stops in the whole trip and i think i can still drive around fr a bit!!
Had engine seizure once... i think... I did 100kmph+ once on the way back... bike simply stopped... din start for 2 hours... seemed like the piston wasn't moving. Dunno what happened...
I was gonna put water on the engine but the local guy told me it'll make matters worse... carried one liter of petrol and oil around always. Very nice trip!
now at 9k mark!

....how did it start later?engine can seize if oil level goes very low due to leakage etc or oil in very bad condition.with 100kg rider its harsh for small engine to run at 80+speed.I think the engine got overheated and stopped...possibly Ignition coil was affected.
engine is unlikely to run if piston gets seized. Never put water on hot metal surface...this is not water cooled engine. The metal surface could have cracked.Allow it to cool down naturally...and then try to start.I think the honda 10w30 oil failed to withstand engine heat....better to go for 20w40 or motul 15W50 mineral or semi-synthetic oil next time.mileage is excellent for that speed.Last edited by sachin1111; 10-26-2011, 02:17 PM.

Really Sad to know wngine seized. There has to be reason either Oil or Ignition coil.... Please have the bike checked at ASC immdieatly.... BTW the avreage is wonderful at that speed I am amazed case rix got 35kmpl at 80-100 range and considering your weight which is almost the same as of bikeOriginally posted by madhav766 View Posthey!!!

guys i am facing problem with petrol thieves!!
last night some thieves tried to steal petrol from my Twister.they removed the rubber pipe carrying petrol to the carburetor.....but i have central locking system fitted on bike....that gave alarm on detecting slight vibration.thieves run away on hearing the alarm.I found one empty bottle left over by robbers...while the petrol was flowing on ground from the rubber pipe removed by robbers.I turned OFF the fuel cock to save remaining fuel....but there wasn't much left.I lost 4 liter of petrol.I will teach them lesson of their life if i find them.
is their any solution to this problem?Last edited by sachin1111; 10-28-2011, 05:14 AM.

hey guys.. i'm so sorry... i miscalculated... The mileage is 62.5kmpl... not 70... I do not know how i made the mistake.. I had been to the ASC yesterday.. official honda mechanics were there to guide the ASC mechanics... They took a look at my bike
The engine did seize... they said not to push the bike beyond 100 at any circumstance... The oil had gone past useable limits, so the engine seized. Got a new spark plug. They tuned the engine and told me i can expect at least 65 kmpl consistently
they said because of my weight the milege will be lesser than expected...

U could get a petrol lock fixed like my dad did to his splendor. The knob that turns petrol off is replaced with a lock... When u lock the petrlo knob.. The engine has no supply but for what is in the pipe...Originally posted by sachin1111 View Postguys i am facing problem with petrol thieves!!

I believe this is the most secure way to save your petrol from those crooks. Albeit, you will have to carry 2 keys from then onwards.Originally posted by madhav766 View PostU could get a petrol lock fixed like my dad did to his splendor. BTW, just out of curiosity where did you park the bike ? If it was outside, you should most certainly park it in the safety of in your own home premise.

Both together in the ration front to back 60:40..... Never try to apply only front brake at high sprrds u will skid for sure ... if at all u have to do reduce the speed by engine braking and then gradually apply the brake.... As a practice use both simaltaneosulyOriginally posted by fybercyber View Posthey guys how to do you brake while in panic...without falling or skidding.... any experienced biker... how to you brake...
first we have to pull rear brake or front brake... or both brake at a time

Madhav you should have started the trip by changing the oil and again at 1200km u should have used the bottle you carry I use Honda 20w40 mineral whatever the ASC says I change my oil every 1500 km ... I would rather spend a few bucks now rather than compromising engine life

the bike was parked right inside parking lot of our apartment..that too under bright running tube light....but the crooks switched off the light just before doing the act.Now i am keeping very little fuel in fuel tank and fill up every week. They had turned the fuel cock to reserve position...meaning they can remove even reserve fuel......too bad.Originally posted by lineinfire View PostI believe this is the most secure way to save your petrol from those crooks.
