By the way why you need to know this?....checking mileage?
yeah trying to check mileage.. am able to cover over a Km whn i turn it off. @40kmph - 1.1-1.3 Kms. @60-whopping 1.9-2.2kms.

I thought ill just pull out the line and check the volume but the damn thing is tight, was worried i might damage the line in the attempt , so am asking here .

      • Throttle response...

Ok so today i made a trip to chengalpattu to meet up with a friend there ...a total of 138.6km..

I was maintaining 70 where possible . with an avg of about 55-60..
Just to put the bike through its paces i pushed it to 95+.. though the speedo showed 100 the GPS suggested kph ..

So i noticed that after a few mins at that high rev reaching 95+ the throttle response of the bike was Great.

The usual twist of the accelerator that used to take me at 50 now took me at 60.. also the bike now seemed smoother and more powerful..
After a pit-stop for tea , it returned to the original feel, but once more touch to the 90+ and back was the power feel...

\Can anyone pls explain what exactly is happening here ??

Another thing i noticed a loud clank like sound when shifting from 4th to 3rd , but its not that audible on other gears - could this be the sign of a problem ??

And i noticed some sort of peeling around the engine , like paint is coming off the engine block - any suggestions in this matter ??

Ya i too Rode the bike in the heavy raining day on highways at 90+. on the running time there is no skid. But if u apply the break the tyre ll get skid & also inside the city in a wet condition if we apply break the tyre ll get skid.

Installing the K&N in twister ll not increase the performance the exhaust sound may increase. but it'll decrease the mileage

NO not worth putting a K&N filter at all - unless you are ready to give up a bit on mileage.
A friend of mine got a K&N for his Twister. (also had trouble finding the ryt one) .
He claims though there was a bit of increase in power , mileage got beat up.
He used to get 65+ before the K&N and now her gets only 45+.
He plans to get back to the stock filter in the next 2500kms. I hav idea why that is :P :P

K&N filters allow more air to pass then normal stock filters.so air fuel mixture will become lean & therefore the engine will have to be retuned otherwise this will affect both power & mileage.....becoz you are only putting more air but not increasing in fuel...thus defeating the whole purpose of installing K&N filter.By the way i dont think K&N has launched filters for Twister.

yeah i know . this guy had to do some amount of tweaking around. and yeah as i said he had trouble finding the ryt filter for his twister .He used somethin that was almost the same size a parallelogram design of some kind which was a few cm short by width.

More air that needs more fuel clearly means less mileage :P

ramesh, may be the choke in faulty in my case, anyways have you checked the seat cover pics posted by Rajaselvam? its on page 98....they look very good.If you are interested then let me know as i am also searching for same here in Goa.

1.That means with a well tuned K & N fitted engine, can we expect considerable increase in power+60-65km/l average
2.Will fitting after market filters for other bikes of same air filter size as of twister affect the engine over a long run period??

The question may be silly, but came into my mind suddenly..Can we fit Digital instrument cluster for the twister,if then, how much it costs??
