    "Dunno how far its true."
And idea of it? Have you people tried it?????
It is an Engine Flush oil , usually a high detergency lighter grade oil . What is done is done , but in future absolutely refrain from using any such additives your resourceful mechanic may suggest , with your oil . It will harm your young engine . Just straight change to the new oil after draining whatever much oil you can , when the engine is hot . The problem with engine flush oils is that just like your old oil , some of this light flushing oil remains inside your engine sump and mixes with your new oil , thereby spoiling it somewhat .
In my experience, when someone tells you something that you can't decide is true , it isn't .

Mine is also scratched at side of headlight area on my green twister with miner crack above Honda logo near headlight.I had a fall on road saving a street dog who ran in front while he was running for his life from another group of street dogs. I was thinking of painting to cover scratched area but its difficult to find similar shade of paint in green.though its a small scratch, its very much visible. as per SVC i have option replace the entire housing that holds instrumentation like speedp/fuel meter etc.its made of fibre and costs around 1K.

        • Mine was no accident, it was foolishness of some fellow, who got his activa pinstirped with my bike key and the air pressure in his rear tyre reduced to 1 or 2 psi!!!!

if i had confronted him that moment i would have killed him.
I have a small scratch right on top of the honda wing sticker on my fuel tank! no options of getting it fixed i think.

          • Guys have any of you changed your rear tyres? I feel that the tyres are kinda thin. Would the dazzler tyres fit?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

drive between 40-50kmph in 4th gear on highway & try to remain in higher gear as much as possible.maintain maximum tyre pressure & change oil regularly.

Horror, i was also wondering if dazzler tyre could be fitted on Twister.I am also interested in fitting a bigger tyre.
as per the manual, Twister rear tyre specification is 80/100-17M/C 53P.
and the dazzler rear tyre specification is 110/80-17M/C 57P.
as per my understanding rim size of both looks same,ie 17. so i think it is possible to fit dazzler tyre.other members can please share their views on this.and also since both are tubeless MRF zappers it looks compatible.
I think you should consult some knowledgeable person doing tyre works using these specifications.

                  • I've upgraded my read tyre. Not really sure of the size specs since I did it ages ago (almost a year back, a month or so after I got the bike). The brand I got was IRC.

Definitely recommended. It feels way safer tackling less than perfect surfaces that are all too common in India.

But my mileage is pretty shitty. I get around 35kmpl. Granted, I ride like a maniac pushing the Twister to its limits on a long semi-highway on the commute to college everyday (roughly 30kms with quite heavy traffic done in about 20mins). But the fatter rear does contribute to reducing the mileage figures as well.

                    • Honda Twister gear shifting problem

Hi guys, I am Vardha and this is my first post to the forum..
I bought a Honda twister 3 months ago from Kun Honda, Adyar, Chennai (Very bad showroom). It is my first bike. Its a nice bike but from the 2nd day itself it is giving me gear shift problem.
When ever I had to stop my bike suddenly like in a traffic signals or something like that I cant shift my gear from neutral to first. It keeps on slipping until I repeat clicking 6 to 7 times and moving the bike back and forth a couple of times. The other gears are fine.

When checked with the showroom (Kun Honda, Adyar, Chennai), they told that will be cleared in 1st service. But not solved in 1st service, they are keep on saying that the specific spare part (called star) is not available in stock. Will change when it comes from the factory. Getting this same reply for past 2 months. I went to the showroom many times. The showroom people (sales person, customer care, service section, sales manager, workshop manager and showroom manager) all are very worst, not giving any reponse and not even paying attention to any words from the customers.

Its an annoying problem ..Im not satisfied with this Honda service

@Jayakrishnan : Thanks for your post. Is problem solved for you? What happened?

Please suggest me a solution folks..

I consulted with a local mechanic.. He told me that there is some kind of screw and spring inside the gear box, and it could be creating the problem. He told me to check the spring and tighten the screw properly. I am going again to the showroom, this time aadi honda's different showroom. Let me see if they check it or not...

@Horror, thanks for your trick man....

                        • My Twister has completed a year. Clocked close to 9k on the odo. The one year went off pretty well. No real issues apart from the relatively low mileage.

After riding the bike for one year I am beginning to think that I made a mistake by selling my FZ and getting the Twister :P. I really miss the power of the FZ even in the city, especially when riding with a pillion(which is 75% of the time). Took a test ride of the Apache RTR 160 today and I really liked the bike. Am seriously considering selling the Twister and going for the Apache.

If you can afford to, keep the Twister for a while yet. Twisters are not fetching good resale prices despite receiving glowering press reviews.

But why the 160, when the 180 also comes with ABS?

                            • Varadha,
Have you tried going to another Honda service centre? Saphire Honda in Bangalore, for example, has been rather accomodating re issues with new bikes. Most Twisters have gear box issues, but they have been addressed if not completely resolved by adjusting the clutch play.

                                1. In which city did you get this done?
                                2. Is IRC any good? Never heard of it before.
                                3. Any drop in pickup? Speed?

I'd like to have mine changed to fatter tyres too.
