    • This is due to uneven fuel ( petrol ) supply to the engine . Check fuel lines , tank pressure equalizing valve and fuel petcock / fuel filter , grease accelerator cable , spindle . Also clean Air-filter and Carburettor and tune for a bit richer mix than you have now . Always fill with standard unleaded petrol .

      • Drove the bike for around 220< km's today( Mumbai to lonavala and back) No probs at all...
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

pinaki, where is this tank pressure equalizing v/v,& its function? The air filter used in twister is viscous type i guess it should not be cleaned, only replaced with new one.yes tuning 4 rich mixture will help but mileage could be affacted at lower speeds.

2 days back i drove my Twister to full throttle on highway for first time.i could reach 95 kmph on speedo without any problem.it was great feeling.but after i stopped, i could feel the engine had become quite hot.i gave a small break for engine to cool down.now engine doesnt feels as smooth at lower speeds.probably needs oil change.

there should be such a valve (hole thingy) on your fuel cap somewhere - it's job is to let-in/let-out some air/vapour if the internal pressure of the petrol tank becomes too different from the atmosphere . If it is clogged it will impede correct continuous flow of petrol to engine , hence jerkiness .

You can clean your viscous filter somewhat by softly brushing off loose dirt from the dirty side and knocking it on a hard surface ( to loosen further dirt ) and air-blasting it from the clean side . But better replace if cheap .

If the carb is tuned lean to the extent that the bike has a jerky acceleration at higher speeds/rpm , then it is better to lose a few kms of mileage and tune it a bit richer , IMHO .

Exactly why I changed to 20w40 oil for summer now , felt the same thing . Hot and rough after speed runs . You have good sensitivity for your bike .
btw , what is the recommended oil grade for twister in owner's manual ?

                • The best commuter bike.

Bought a Red Twister 7 months back. Has clocked 4600 kms and just did my 4th free service yesterday. I believe that its the best choice in the 100cc segment. Ive been getting 70+(kmpl) even before the first service. But the mileage drops heavily in rash driving(45kmpl).
Im 100% satisfied with the mileage and performance of this bike.

Altogether its a great choice if you drive at a speed of 50-55km. Anything above that and the mileage will drop considerably.

owners manual recommends Honda 10W30 & 20W40 oil.but honda has stopped supplying 20W40 oil to service stations at my place.only 10w30 is used in all honda 2 wheelers. I have seen 20w40 oil bottles (white bottles)being sold at some retail shops, i feel they are fake.if honda dealers r not getting 20w40,then from where these retailers getting oil from?

Yes , same problem here too ; hero-honda has done the exact same thing - only 10w30 for all their bikes now . You can get Gulf pride / ELf 20w40 from any reliable lube shop , the two best mineral oils I have used upto now . Like you I am also scared of fake oils flooding our markets , so I went to my nearest authorised yamaha dealer's parts-counter and got their Yamalube 20w40 SL(mineral), an excellent oil ( running smoooooth for 1200km now in my bike ) and no chance of fake . Bhai , no matter what they say , I am not going to run 10w30 in 40-50C blazing sun !!

yamalube 20w40 SG mineral - 185.00 (reputed to be better than the SL )
                            yamalube 20w40 SL mineral - 220.00 . ( one in my bike now )
                            gulf pride 20w40 mineral - 200.00 ( slickest gearshifts , have used it )
gulf pride 10w30 synthetic blend - 190.00 ( new oil , haven't tried it yet , but reportedly similar to the 20w40 above )
HH 10w30 mineral (bpcl MAK)- 200.00 ( used ,good during winter , better cold starts, doesn't last )

info - Lubricants for Two Wheelers by Gulf Oil India

No never used synthetics , couldn't justify the price .

Can you tell me who makes that Honda 10w30 oil & it's price ? should be written on the bottle

Price mentioned on 10W30 Honda bottle is MRP Rs 156. manufacturing of oil as mentioned on bottle is by "savita Oil Technologies limited at navi mumbai, under licence from Idemitsu Kosan LTD japan. so basically its a IDEMITSU Oil.whats the diffrence between SJ & SL grade in this oil?
