And they were not willing to give a temporary replacement.
That's good for your warranty ... new battery for free . Some bikes have electricals that need a battery in place (even if non-working) to operate safely . Check if something like that is mentioned in your owner's manual , before you ride it like that .

          • ^ The speeds at which you change the gear is alright. How many kilometers have you completed on your bike? Is it only noise or does the bike also jerk or something like that? Clean your chain and try again. Take it to the service centre if the problem still persists after a few kilometers.

            • @fibercyber,it will be better if you can be more specific about the kind of sound and location of sound you are hearing.shifting speeds seems ok.if you feel its the gear teethes clashing, then better shift to third at slightly higher speed of 25 and then to fourth close to 40.sometimes there is error present in the speedometer i.e speed shown on speedo could be more than actual speed.normally you hear only engine exhaust sound and a very faint chain sound,But better show it to SVC since there are moving parts involved it can lead to further damage.

Anyone tried filling their bike's tires with Nitrogen Gas? Suggestions/Feedback would be appreciated.

                  • Guys,
What are fork oils used for? And can I use the same on my bike?

                    Pinaki,
I saw a post of yours posted earlier in some other thread about fork oils. I ahve heard of Motul fork oils. How to use them, if I want to use one
                    ?

Yup, only the headlights and brake lights work without the battery. Not indicators and no horn. Even the fuel level indicator does not work. I'm gonna use my wife's Scooty till I get my battery back.

Nope, its not a maintenance free battery. Even I thought its supposed to be, but apparently its not.

Battery warranty period is 18 months. My bike is 14 months old, so battery is still covered in warranty.

                      • @hellsfury,Its mentioned on user manual(page 67),that battery is maintenance free, and its sealed, thus cannot add electrolyte.i could not find any written info on manual about battery warranty period.if its 18 months then that's good.i was once told its one year by Honda mechanic.anyway thanks for info!!

                          Pinaki,

                          ?
If your front fork is showing either excessive stiffness ( resistance to compression ) or too free to compress ( bottoming out at every pothole and bumper ) then your bike is in for a fork oil change . You can test this by jamming your front brakes , with the bike stationary without stands , and pumping up and down hard on the front handles & observing the fork movement , specially the return/decompression part .... it should decompress smoothly but not too fast & easy .
Earlier bikes used to have a drain nut at the bottom of the forks , making it possible for you to drain & refill it yourself conveniently . Nowadays I don't see that tiny drain nut on any bike , dunno how much money they are saving by not giving these two nuts and the threaded holes . So now you have to take the bike to a mechanic or service center and dismantle the whole front fork to drain & refill it , so be prepared with your time .
Motul /Gulf and most other companies do make fork oils , but only Castrol's seems to be readily available in shops here . For motul/gulf/elf etc you have to pre-order it from any good shop that stocks their engine oils .. simple . Some local fork oils are available cheaply like forkol etc and I have seen mechanics switch your oil with it ... so be present in person when the mechanic fills yours . While at it , ask him to clean and re-grease both the steering bearings and races and the T-stem well . Buy him a big blister pack of good bearing grease & let him keep the rest , he'll do it .

                            • CB Twister prices droped!!

hey guys, there is this news that Honda has slashed price of Twister & Dealers are now offering discounts of Rs 3500.Twister sales have dropped due to price difference compared to other 100cc bikes like splendor etc,so Honda is hoping to boost sales with price cuts.
I just checked on Honda website to see the current prices and surprised to see that prices have gone up by over Rs 2300 since i got my bike a year ago.
