Hi !! you are right. rear shock absorbers are non adjustable,so nothing can be done to stock shocks.this is one drawback the twister has.but this also has advantage in the sense that bit stiff suspension helps in better handling of bike. The service center will not provide you any other shocks because they are not suppose to modify bike in any form and therefore you will have to get it done from outside.I do not know if there is any aftermarket adjustable shocks compatible with Twister.non of us has done that.i think fitting other shocks will change riding dynamics of bike and could void bike warranty.the only solution i can think of is to run bike with recommended tyre pressure for single rider.A slightly low air pressure then this will help absorb road bumps better.Honestly Twister is not suitable for bad roads for this same reason.Originally posted by Noor View PostLast edited by sachin1111; 07-04-2011, 10:13 PM.

got Roots central locking fitted on my bike.its working fine for last one year.you can even start or stop your bike from remote control if you have self start.one more useful feature is if you forgot where you parked your bike in a large parking lot, then pressing a button on remote emits large sound signal thus you can move towards the sound and find your bike. if you are doing 400+km per month or using bike on daily basis then there wont be battery draining issues.only thing i dont like is after switching OFF ignition if you dont lock bike within 5 sec,it gives three beeps as a reminder to lock your bike.this attracts unwanted attention from people.secondly when locked, it gives alarm if there is slight shake or vibration in bike.kids find this funny.Originally posted by Ronits View PostHi Guys...
Would like to know If anyone has fitted central lock security systems in their bike. Which is better - Roots Auto or Minda Auto? Any drawbacks of fitting one?
can you post picture of corrosion on exhaust? how did it corrode so early?Last edited by sachin1111; 07-06-2011, 01:40 AM.

yes its normal for new engine running bit hot.since engine is new, clearances between various parts are less and hence parts are not sited properly.they are now getting polished due to friction and some power is lost to overcome this friction which is why you feel the sluggishness.also as the heat increases the oil looses some viscosity and there is increase in friction compared to when it was cold. After 1000+km engine should slowly start running cooler.
i would suggest you to change engine oil at this time. it will be very good for engine in long run.just go to Honda service center get new 10w30 Honda oil bottle(cost 165 Rs)and get the oil changed from any roadside mechanic for 20 bucks and thereafter follow normal free service as given in manual.your engine will run cooler and smoother.there is no tachometer on twister so cant know RPM while running.so to keep revs under control, give less throttle in lower gears because for same speed, engine RPM will be different for each gears.Last edited by sachin1111; 07-10-2011, 11:25 AM.

another question how do i find RPM for Twister....
Sluggishness and engine heating is normal for a bike in run in period. You have ridden 172 kms, change your engine oil.
Better to change engine oil now.

First servicing done!
Got the first 'free' servicing done (180 kms) from the Honda dealers (Sterling, Pimpri)
Oil changed!
Had complained to them about the stiff/hard rear suspension. And according to the 'job-card' and the mechanic, it's now fixed and I should be getting a smoother ride
which obviously is not happening. So the change of rear shocks is inevitable, will do some time later and keep you all updated.
Another query: Has anyone changed the stock gear-shifter?? from toe-shifter to toe/heel-shifter?? which one fits Twister vis-s-vis the peg position... any information in this regards will be appreciated a lot!!
Ride safe,
Warm regards,
Abu

dude, these Honda mechanics are brainless chickens, they will always tell you that problem is fixed while they mostly end up making things worse.Originally posted by abu.roadking View PostGot the first 'free' servicing done (180 kms) from the Honda dealers (Sterling, Pimpri)

regarding gear shifter,i think heel shifter is not necessary because firstly it will not look good on sporty looks of twister, and more importantly after doing 3-4 oil changes & as you cover up more km, the toe shifter goes on becoming more and more smooth and effortless.just get used to stock toe shifter for now,you will find it better then heel shifter in due time.Last edited by sachin1111; 07-11-2011, 01:13 PM.

I like bike of Honda and even right now i am owning the Honda cbr250r bike. But for Honda Twister bike , i personally do not like it.Because i feel that it is heavy for riding and in it there is always problem of shifting hard.I like all Honda vehicle but not just twister.

Having used Yezdi Roadking in past for good amount of time, I'm not new to the toe-shifter. So, it's not a matter of getting used to - although shifting on Twister seems to be bit moody w.r.t. the 'false' neutrals. On Roadking its a different story - in fact, I'm more used to using heel on the toe shifter - and its shifting pattern being opposite. On Twister, there's no space for using heel (between pegs and crash-guard)!Originally posted by sachin1111 View Postdude, these Honda mechanics are brainless chickens, they will always tell you that problem is fixed while they mostly end up making things worse.

Rainy season + Toe-shifter (with new rubber) + Muddy shoes = Bad proposition
I really am not worried about the sporty looks or warranty or any other reason. I just want my bike to be as comfortable as possible. Function over form! Also thinking of getting chain covers.
I know, you all will be thinking why Twister then?? why not a Splendor??
I say, why not a better looking Twister (if not best) with all the functional goodies rather than any other 100cc bike with no looks at all!!!

dude Twister is not heavy, its among lightest at just 102kg compared to CBR which weighs 167 kg. gear shifts are bit hard when new but gets smooth after first few services.Originally posted by henryb View PostI like bike of Honda and even right now i am owning the Honda cbr250r bike. But for Honda Twister bike , i personally do not like it.Because i feel that it is heavy for riding and in it there is always problem of shifting hard.I like all Honda vehicle but not just twister.

@Abu,since you have been using heel shifting all these days you are likely to find toe shifting bit uncomfortable.anyways these days most new bikes are coming with toe shifters.
dude you have any plans for chain cover? the open chain gets dirty pretty fast and attracts all dirt.people like me riding around beach side find all sand sticking to chain like magnet, and it makes grinding paste when mixed with oil.not a good thing for sure.
