  • Mainly Iridium Plugs are more efficient in burning fuel,so mileage may increase by 1 or 2kms for sure BTW today i saw a twister with Pirelli SD 100/90-17.It's so huge and big for that rim. looks like the tire will jump out now.

    • Could not notice any significant improvement in performance with ngk g-power in the long run ( which is why I never went to Iridiums ) , except the improvement from changing to new plugs from really old ones . Easy starting and smooth firing engine . However i'm sure these will last much longer than the factory-fitted ones I had since they look better when I took them out after 2000kms use , not much soot or burn at all , easier to clean , no wear . Also they are easier to put in and screw out and do not bind as much as the nickel plugs . That alone should save quite a bit of wear on the plugs and engine threads .I got a set of four (different types ) for 500 Rs sometime back . Good value in g-power , I think .

Aneesh, thanks for the news.I was searching for the same, but could not find any 100/90-17 tyres from pirelli. Pirelli tyre must be very good because they are considered among top companies that make Tyres.me too have seen one twister with Dunlop geo cruser 100/90-17 and as you said it does look big for those rims.but then if you compare it with yamaha FZ rear its still small.

have seen few Twisters with graphics stickers on mumbai roads. but they were black colored twisters with simple gray and red tapes cut manually in zig zag pattern.I think people having black Twisters have better choice experimenting with colors.ones having Green like mine and yellow have lesser chance to get correct color combinations.wonder if tank pads having good graphics will look good on Twisters.

Ninja tank pads have almost the same colour as the green twister.

                    • Or a green and black monster tank pad. Actually one thing that can't go wrong is the colour black. Use that on any graphics you want on your bike. It will look really good with green.

                      • Hi Guys,

Just got my Green, Self-Disc-Alloy twister delivered on last wednesday. This is my first bike and I do not have much on road experience for a geared two wheeler.

The thing is, I am already having some problems with my bike.
                        - On my way back to home from delivery I got a problem with self start not working twice on the signals. Had to use kick and the bike started with one kick. Is this an issue with the battery or something, please let me know
                        - Gear shifting prolems are also there, which maybe due to my inexperience. Though sometimes I do have trouble putting the bike into neutral and from neutral to first gear. Apart from that, I guess its pretty much usual.
                        - On Friday evening, I was having some problem of engine shutting down frequently even with full clutch on low gears, so had to use acc. to keep it from shutting down in traffic. I didn't use the bike over the weekend. I have to keep the bike in open/rain, as we don't have any covered parking in office and at home too.
                        - The bike did not start at all today(Monday) morning while I was about to leave for work . I tried to start with choke, Kicked a lot, Tried the self start everything but the engine didn't start at all. After a few trys the self died. In the end I had to give up.

I'm really worried about this starting problem so early, I've not even completed 50 Km yet. Please suggest what could be the reason for it not starting.

Hi Nitin, you have a brand new bike so everything is under warranty and there are four free services given specially to sort out any problems you notice during this period.so relax.first regarding the starting problem,as you said bike does not start with self start.most likely reason for this could be that the battery is not in charged condition.your dealer is suppose to charge the battery when they deliver you a new bike, secondly since you have used self starter many times it is possible that you have drained the remaining battery power.so for the moment what you can do is stop using self starter and use kick starter.once you start riding the battery will get charged automatically by the inbuilt alternator and after about 50km run, self starter should then work.secondly from my personnel experience you do not need to keep choke on when starting with kick start. putting choke ON will put more fuel and you will have to use more kicks to start engine.so keep choke OFF while starting as well as running(by pressing it in fully). My bike starts in first kick with choke OFF but when i keep choke ON it takes at least 4-6 kicks to start.
Now as far as bike stopping in traffic, when you say "Low Gear",it means first gear right?i mean if you try to accelerate in second gear from standstill then bike will obviously stop.so make sure you change to first gear at traffic stops and get used to smooth clutch release mechanism.also during first service see if the clutch needs any adjustment and that idle RPM is set at 1500. Regarding the gear shifts, they will become hard initially and once you change oil during free service, they will become smooth.one more thing is that changing gear directly from first to neutral is bit tricky due to some built in mechanism.so first go to second gear and then with light flip shift to neutral. Do not forget to follow the running in of your bike properly for at least 2000km because this will decide your bike mileage and performance for rest of its life.when you go for first service tell all bike problems to service center and get it solved.mean time do read your bike user manual to understand various operations and check below link for proper bike Running in, and ride safe.

                          • Just got it.

                            Hi, guys.

I'm from Hyderabad. Just got my Honda CB Twister (black) two days ago, and I must say, I love the bike. I'm a newbie in bikes (more used to my dad's Bajaj Chetak) but I'm getting used to it pretty good. The gear shifting and everything, it's great. And also, it's very light @ 108 kg, so that gives me an advantage too, I expect. Anyway, took it out today on a drive and got used to controlling it in traffic and everything. I know you're not supposed to go above 40 km/hr before the first run-in/service (which is due in about a month's time), so I stuck to it.

I love this bike and I'm GLAD to find this mini community here. :-)

I shall keep y'all posted and give my views and stuff on things, if they matter, because I'm no expert but I like discussions.

                            Cheers!

P.S: Does anyone else have a hard time opening the seat lock with the key?

Any ways just saw new color of Twister which had just arrived at showroom today. Twister is now available in WHITE color.reminds of white Apache RTR.looks good!!

@ronits and Horror, check this new yamaha fazor, Honda can surely bring such color combinations for Twister.thinking of trying this on my Green Twister.
