you can do long trips but do it after oil change or if you have done servicing recently. just check Tyre pressure and lubricate chain before leaving for long trip.I have done 150X2=300km in two days.since engine is new, better to take a short brake every 100km minutes to cool the engine.Originally posted by cr4nkshaft View PostLast edited by sachin1111; 04-18-2011, 11:25 AM.

Baazigar, i think your tyres are nearing its service life.usually it is around 30-35k.but since non of us has covered that much distance on our twisters,we will wait to see how much it lasts on your bike.just be little cautious during upcoming rainy season.Regarding sprocket,if the teethes are worn out then do change it now as its not safe.Originally posted by Baazigar View PostHi All,
Been long since i posted here, my twister (11 months old) is doing 23k on the odo, and i use it 85% on the city roads,
with a mileage of 63+ (checked in jan), couple of issues with my bike,
* Chain Sprocket!!!! - Started to make hell lot of noise! the authorised service centre guy knows nothin to do except tighten the chain & lube it,
and ask me to go for a new sprocket set.
* Rear tyre is not at its best, i feel the bike not gripping the road as it used to do earlier, have any of u changed the tyre. If yes which make????
And yeah i used it for a long trip couple of weeks back like 280kms in about 5 hrs and 30 mins. the bike is just great,
still rocking after almost a year of use, and the maintenace costs hav hardly been a trouble!

dont know if this is just me or something else. whenever my bike is low on fuel, like the indicator is near the reserve mark, the throttle response feels jumpy and unstable, not as smooth as it is when I have full or mostly full tank.
is there any reason behind this or is it just a figment of my imagination?
and another thing..
has anybody tried to fit digital display units to twister? something in the line of this-
Never be afraid to slow down. sigpic

The rear tyre is not yet worn out, but still i feel a great loss in the traction, esp when in a dirt road.Originally posted by sachin1111 View PostBaazigar, i think your tyres are nearing its service life.usually it is around 30-35k.but since non of us has covered that much distance on our twisters,we will wait to see how much it lasts on your bike.just be little cautious during upcoming rainy season.Regarding sprocket,if the teethes are worn out then do change it now as its not safe.
the grooves are still there. Can i use any other brand than MRF Zapper as prefered by Honda?
Sprocket teeth are slightly chipped but they aint worn out yet, they should easily do another 10k.
Have already changed the Rubber fittings inside the rear wheel to try and solve the noise problem.
Which engine oil are u currently using. I have been using Castrol 20-40w but now
planning of changing the brand, not happy with it.

need advice
Hello All,
I'm new to this forum and new to two wheeler as well. I'm planning to buy a twister for my daily use(for traveling to and fro from office).
I have to travel 60 kms(up and down), so a bike with good looks and decent mileage (>60kmpl) would be a perfect one for me.
@Twister owners:
its been around one year since you got your bikes, request to let me know your suggestions on this.
Thanks,
Mahboob Shah

All the best wid ur new bike!

Yes me too have notices about this throttle response.but this happens when fuel indicator is just about to cross reserve mark and around 10km before bike fall in reserve and stop.but its not jumpy, just a bit jerky when i raise throttle. looks like engine is not getting enough fuel and mixture becomes bit lean.but there a simple trick.Just turn the fuel knob to reserve position, that should solve the problem. It works for me,do try it.Originally posted by cr4nkshaft View Postdont know if this is just me or something else. whenever my bike is low on fuel, like the indicator is near the reserve mark, the throttle response feels jumpy and unstable, not as smooth as it is when I have full or mostly full tank.

I am still using Honda 10w30 Oil and change oil myself.its cheaper but lasts nearly same as other mineral oils.I am bit hesitant to use other oils right now, because of many fake oils in shops.better to buy a cheaper genuine oil then fake expensive oil and screw up the bike.you can safely try Gulf pride 4T plus.check link below.Originally posted by Baazigar View PostThe rear tyre is not yet worn out, but still i feel a great loss in the traction, esp when in a dirt road.

whats your budget? Twister already meets your requirements as it looks good and returns 60-65mileage easily.my suggestion is if you are mostly going to drive at 70+speeds then go for higher CC bikes like dazzler or unicorn. If you have recently learned riding a bike then Twister is very good because its light weight and cutting through traffic is easy.Originally posted by shah0516 View PostHello All,

Thanks for the response
my travel will be 1 KM in traffic and the remaining 29 KM will be on highways. my height is 5 foot 6 inch and my budget is 60k.
Regarding long trips.. I'll be rarely making it.. most important matter concern for me is, will the twister handles daily 60KM travel on highways?
Finally, I'll generally drive in 50-60kmph speeds..

Twister easily handles upto 300kms a day on Highways. Believe me i have taken it much longer.Originally posted by shah0516 View Post@ Baazigar & Sachin:

But u should see your speed, blow it over 75-80 and u'll have a mileage drop.
-My verdict after riding it for 11 months and clocking 23k kms.
Twister is more suited for the city, if ur on the highway check ur speedo and stay below 85.
If u follow the simple rule of stayin in 60-70 u'll get a very gud mileage
plus u'll have the best bike in its class!!! Its all your choice now!

Lubricants for Two Wheelers by Gulf Oil India
I feel the Castrol is not genuine hence planning of changing Brand.
Any idea approx price of Gulf Pride 4T????

Gulf pride 4t 20w40 1 liter ( black bottle ) is 200.00 Rs & Gulf Pride 4t plus 10w30 900ml ( silver bottle ) is 190.00 Rs (both three month old stock) here in kolkata today .Originally posted by Baazigar View PostWhat if the Honda Oil we'r getting is also not genuine???

I was well aware of the fake castrols etc in the market here , so when I shifted my bike to 20w40 for the summers , I got yamalube 20w40 SL MA2 oil from yamaha ASC for 220 Rs . No chance of fake
. The oil is working greaaat now @ 1700 k . Cool smooth and no loss at all yet . Although honda may have problems with yamaha , their bike engines digested both oils equally well , without protest or care

I'll go for the gulf 4t plus then, what bout the additive thats mixed up before
draining the old oil???? i remember my local mech doing it last time i was getting
the bike serviced, costs around 100rs. He said it completely flushes the old oil!
"Dunno how far its true."
And idea of it? Have you people tried it?????
