How did ya knowOriginally posted by psr View PostAll Hondas use Keihin only, and it is famous for jamming and loss of thread of AFR screw..so set your AFR with a clean/NEW air filter, and keep turning of AFR screw to minimum and not to experiment too much.
Keihin parts are not available, and you have to change whole carb for even small problems.....and they cost twice as much as Mikuni.
??!! I'm trying to source a whole genuine keihin carb for my best friend's kawasaki wind 125
. The problem with his is the exact same .... worn threads on the AFR screw . And yes , I've tried and failed to find the parts / rebuild kit for it too
. herohonda carbs are keihin too .... does any fit the wind 125 ?

I had been on earth longer and learned the hard way.Basically all Keihin uses aluminum alloy which corrodes easily, unlike Mikuni...Originally posted by Pinaki View PostHow did ya know

Try getting the nearest Venturi size Mikuni and your problems will be over.Ucal in India is manufacturing it and they are very less in price. For example A 30 mm Keihin for Karizma is 6,000/- while a Mikuni BS 29 is 2,400/- and BS 32 is 3,000/-..and all spare parts are available. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Got my battery replaced today. I was mistaken earlier, the battery is maintenance free.I use front 25, back 41 since I ride with a pillion 80% of the time.Originally posted by Horror View PostFront 25, back 29... That's what I usually feel comfortable with.Last edited by HellsFury; 07-23-2011, 04:55 PM.

Isn't 41 too high?

So tire pressure will be high for thinner tires.Ok,thanks bro.Originally posted by sachin1111 View Post41 psi is the recommended air pressure for rear tyre for rider+pillion as given in user manual. It does look higher when compared to other tyres, but its probably due to thinner tyre profile,Honda has recommended this pressure for sufficient grip.

2nd Reserve Update!

1. Can I fill nitrogen into my Twister's tubeless tires?
Here's a good explanation of how Nitrogen works in the tires... http://www.popularmechanics.com/Reserve-to-reserve with 1L of fuel gave me 71kmpl.Originally posted by abu.roadking View PostHi All,
Reached my first reserve at 398kms.
...
Average = 398km/5.9L = ~67.5 kmpl YAY!!!!
...
Lets say right now average is around 65kmpl... Will do a reserve-to-reserve with 1L and update you all guys to have a more 'precise' number!
...
So, I expect the average to be in 65-70 range in the days to come...
I just noticed that 'suddenly' I'm talking only about average these days
like many people whom I used to despise long time ago (bit lengthy intro i posted on Yahoo-Groups long long ago)...
Guess I'm growing old and getting more into 'average' than 'biking'
Wish things never changed... wish "strongly" that fuels prices never changed too
...
Bye for now...

hey abu, your mileage is good.it varies vastly with riding conditions.for example,During constant stop and go condition in trafic, short trips & some ripping mileage drops to around 55-60. and when ridden sensibly at constant 40-50 speed you can get mileage as high as 80-84kmpl.(you will find this hard to believe).ARAI (automotive Research association of India) has certified the mileage of Twister at 85kmpl under ideal condition.and yes i have achieved maximum fuel efficiency of 84kmpl when i did a trip of 250km in two days on smooth NH17 at constant 40-50 speeds last year. Now getting around 66kmpl under mixed city+highway condition.in short, you can always control your mileage with riding style and maintenance.
here is a link for mileage of all Two wheelers in India as certified by ARAI & SIAM India.these are under ideal test conditions but it gives you good idea of how efficient your bike is with respect to other models in market. you can compare your bikes mileage with other similar cc bikes since all bikes have same testing procedure.cheers!!

Ok, potential problem.. need help?
Ok, I hadn't used the bike in about 6 days.. and today it just wouldn't start, both with kick start and electric start. Then, I noticed that the fuel knob was set to OFF. Which is odd because I don't recall changing it. Either way.. it won't start with even the knob at "ON" position.
And I noticed that the petrol was leaking a bit. I'm posting a pic of it.. are the tubes supposed to be like that, or d'you think someone cut it or something? My father thinks someone cut it off and then set the fuel knob to OFF.
And all this is happening today.. on the day of my FIRST servicing. It's been exactly a month now. Please help? I'm upset. :-/

I distinctly remember having seen such tubes on many bikes...not the Twister in particular though...I don't know what they are for...maybe someone would be able to throw some light on this matter...
And anyway, if someone had intentionally cut these tubes for stealing fuel, there would be no need for him to turn the fuel knob to OFF as there would be no fuel left in the fuel tank anyway...
So don't worry..Cheers!!Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

Normally there will be three tubes below, one from the AirFilter Box,one from the Petrol Tank Drain tube and One from the Battery,These are not cutted by anyone,Guess one from the Airbox have a closed end.
