Just got my Green, Self-Disc-Alloy twister delivered on last wednesday. This is my first bike and I do not have much on road experience for a geared two wheeler.

The thing is, I am already having some problems with my bike.
        - On my way back to home from delivery I got a problem with self start not working twice on the signals. Had to use kick and the bike started with one kick. Is this an issue with the battery or something, please let me know
        - Gear shifting prolems are also there, which maybe due to my inexperience. Though sometimes I do have trouble putting the bike into neutral and from neutral to first gear. Apart from that, I guess its pretty much usual.
        - On Friday evening, I was having some problem of engine shutting down frequently even with full clutch on low gears, so had to use acc. to keep it from shutting down in traffic. I didn't use the bike over the weekend. I have to keep the bike in open/rain, as we don't have any covered parking in office and at home too.
        - The bike did not start at all today(Monday) morning while I was about to leave for work . I tried to start with choke, Kicked a lot, Tried the self start everything but the engine didn't start at all. After a few trys the self died. In the end I had to give up.

I'm really worried about this starting problem so early, I've not even completed 50 Km yet. Please suggest what could be the reason for it not starting.
Hey dude don't worry I had the same problems during the run-in of my bike. Bike stops at signals even when the clutch is pressed, the self starter not working etc. Check the manual and see when do you have to flush your engine. This should solve a few of your problems. I've done around 5k kms on my bike and it works like butter right now. The problems should slowly disappear. Just don't use the electric start too much and everytime when the bike is started for the first time in the day use the kick start. Tell the service guy about your gear problem he'll solve it for you. It does take time getting used to them.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

                • Hey Guys,
I saw a white Twister yesterday on road. Was looking cool! The only prob is it would be hard to maintain the shine and once it starts getting scratches,it would be hard to hide them! Please post pics of the Grey CB Twister.

                  Regards,
                  Ronit

                  • In fact, white one i saw at showroom was looking bit less shiny compared to other colors.possibly due to white background the shine is less noticiable.

                    • Air Filter

hey guys,i want to ask, when i opened the Air filter (as shown in picture in previous post)the Air filter was completely dry.it was a like hard paper and there was absolutely no trace oil in the filter paper.just a complete dry hard cardboard like paper.now the manual says it is a viscous air filter which means, there should be some oil in it so that dust particles stick to the oil.now does this indicate dust is entering inside engine along with air?

Would like to know If anyone has fitted central lock security systems in their bike. Which is better - Roots Auto or Minda Auto? Any drawbacks of fitting one?

                            2. The exhaust pipe has got scratches and rust too! Any ideas to revert the same? Like paint job or welding top-up or any other idea with you guys?

I've recently purchased a Honda Twister, for its good looks and decent mileage. However, it's ride is on the stiffer side for my tastes, which I could not make out during the short 'test-ride'.

I'd like to tune it to a softer setting. However, doing some 'research' on net & looking closely at my bike, found that the rear shocks are not adjustable.

How can they not have the adjustments? I've yet to take this point up at the service station & the dealer when I go for the first service.

Right now I guess, there's nothing that can be done with stock shocks to soften the ride? Could you suggest me some alternative solution to make the riding more comfortable. I'm open to changing the entire shock-absorber assembly with an adjustable ones or other softer ones. Is this possible, which one should I prefer for my Twister?? Or any other option... Any other modifications that would yield similar results…
