i don't endorse the concept of owning bike of a school-going kid.he may learn to ride but he should be responsible enough to own a bike,i don't think a school going kid is responsible enough.Originally posted by Samshalu View PostNice review bro,I'm thinking of getting this bike for my little bro.Is this safe to ride for kids?Other than that any problems,I have heard some as the rear tire is thin & the MRF ZAPPER tires lack grip on road...many have reported slidding & another one is gears getting locked. Are these serious problems?
Have you never faced these.Should I go for this bike or consider other choices like Suzuki Slingshot or Yamaha SZ-X?
if you can stretch your budget,go get a fz,it is tailor-made for learners .twister is also a great bike for learning.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

hey guys. I just finished 11k on my bike. Its been a year since i got her. I had initially planned to change my bike around now, but cant do it for a while now. I get a decent enough mileage(58-64kmpl) depending on how and where i ride. Since I cant change my ride ryt now, i was looking at giving my bike a mini make over. I have a few questions.
1)How will changing the air filters affect my bike? say i get k and n filters for it, apart from the drop in FE what can i expect from my bike?
2)If i decide to get a new rear tire, again what effects apart from drop in FE? What brand should I go for? I like good grip on the road, less for racing and more for all terrain.
3)Will upgrading to a disk break help me any? Cost?
4)Regarding engine oil, has anyone tried a different one from the company prescribed oil? Effects on ride quality? FE?
5)Do I need a spark plug change?
6)any idea about getting the bike repainted from honda itself? Cost? will they do different colors on the body?
I'm sorry, the questions do seem like a pain, but take the time and answer them please. It'll help me.Last edited by madhav766; 02-28-2012, 06:38 PM.Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

1)There are some in forum who has changed to k and n request them to comment as far as I know it's not a direct fit stock is pretty good and you can change to a new stock
2)Many people Rajselvam etc have changed to michellen there has been a reported drop of 4/5 kmpl in FE..
3)Upgrading to disc brake will cost you aroung 7k thoygh people say there wont be any diffrence a disc is a disc if you have the budget go for it ASC wuill dom it with stock kit
4)I use HONDA high performance synthetic oil (Throttle), in both my twister and CBR. it costs 504 for a litre but give amazing performance .Twister engine has been super silent once I changed to it. Rajselvam has tried Gulf and saching Motul i believe,,, they will comment
5)By default I change the spark plug every 4th service irrespective of it has completed 9k or not
6)U can change the tank and paint parts if you wana change the color.. but y? it will cost you around 5.5k. Yes ASC does do touch up jobs .

Guys, the competition in 250cc segment is fast catching up as many people are shifting to 250cc. Honda will upgrade the power of CBR 250 through ECU optimization...which will make it more fuel efficient and also more powerful. Honda has decided to do this after confirmed reports of Yamaha preparing to launch its 250cc.

Post the pictures after you modesOriginally posted by madhav766 View Posthey guys. I just finished 11k on my bike. Its been a year since i got her. 1)How will changing the air filters affect my bike? say i get k and n filters for it, apart from the drop in FE what can i expect from my bike?
Adding K&N filter is not only reduce the mileage it results Engine over heating & reduce the engine life.
2)If i decide to get a new rear tire, again what effects apart from drop in FE? What brand should I go for? I like good grip on the road, less for racing and more for all terrain.
I'm using Michelin Pilot sporty simply saying there is no mileage drop.Even in city I'm getting 58kmpl at a three days riding.
3)Will upgrading to a disk break help me any? Cost?
Adding disc ll not made much diff in breaking performance.Disc set costs you around 3k & you have to change the alloy too.
4)Regarding engine oil, has anyone tried a different one from the company prescribed oil? Effects on ride quality? FE?
I'm using Elf oil that too good oil even at my 80+ speed continuously 6-8hrs on highways it makes the engine feel good
5)Do I need a spark plug change?
My bike crossed 24k kms but still i dint touch the spark plug. But changing the Spark plug at a particular interval is good
6)any idea about getting the bike repainted from honda itself? Cost? will they do different colors on the body?
If you want to repaint go for a good paiting shop dont go with ASC
