  • Hey Guys,

Bought a red twister on jan 5th. Did the first service recently. Currently clocked 400kms.

But I feel my bike vibrates a bit too much. It begins at 45kmph.
Well i didnt cross 40kmph till the first service. If i did it was only for a few secs.
And now I dont go above 45kmph.

When I touch the occasional 50kmph, the vibrations are quite noticeable.

    What could be the problem?

EDIT: After riding the bike for 12kms at avg speed of 45kmph and top of 45kmph, I could only feel the temperature of the engine and couldnt touch it for more than 1sec, was hot enough. Could feel the heat from atleast 5 inches away.

My bike is now more than 2.5 years old with more than 10,700 KMs driven mostly on city/town roads.. Never had a problem with the tyres, but 3 days back I noticed that I was losing pressure very quickly in my rear tyre.. When I got it checked at the tyre shop, a puncture was found and repaired.. They very next day, I again lost a lot of pressure, and this time again a puncture was found on a different location in the tyre and repaired.. To my frustration, even yesterday, for the third time I lost pressure.. This time it wasn't a puncture, by air was leaking from the side of the rim.. I got it repaired, but now on the fourth day again I find almost no pressure!!

Is it time to replace the tyre, or is it advisable to put a tube in the tyre (as the mechanic advised)??

Please give your suggestions.. Is it normal to replace tyres this early in the bikes life?
Better change the tyre it's almost 2.5yrs over.

Your engine is new so it may vibrate more than a used engine. SO wait up-to some 1000kms then also if it vibrates more check with a good mechanic.

there is no problem in going past 45 or 50 kmph occasionally......its good thing during running in. In new engine there is lot more friction taking place and this can be reason for slightly more vibrations along with some loose nut or bolt.
wait for around 1500km.....for engine and other parts to settle. service centre guys will check if any nut or bolt become bit loose. where do you think vibration coming from....Handle bar or foot peg?

              No vibrations at handle bar.
From the footpeg. I keep my laps in contact with the tank, so feel the vibrations even more.

And can I adjust the air fuel ratio so early in the engine life? Feel its too lean.
You know that choking kind of sound the engine makes when running out of fuel, the same sound comes when initially accelerating on a slope just after shifting a gear (in all gears). And I assume I dont upshift too early. Not the steepest of slopes too, gentle slope.

EDIT: Touched 60kmph today. Vibrations come to the handle also at this speed.

No bro. The pair of this LED consume only 0.110 amps only it's the power equal to a neutral light consumes

                • Thanks @sachin1111 and @rajaselvam.. I've got the tyre changed into a tubed version for now..

Btw, what is the rated life of the stock tyres? I was expecting to run much longer than 2.5 years!!

Normally 15k-20k kms but it vary depends on driving skills

I have also felt some vibrations on foot peg during my first 2000km rides......but they were hardly noticeable and they were mostly occurring on rough road. I am not sure about the reason for these vibrations...its likely some nut/bolt has may have become partially loose.I am not sure about any other reasons. If you observe maintenance table on user manual (page 43) it says inspect Nuts, bollts and Fasteners during every service. anything loose is likely to vibrate...even the center stand near foot peg can vibrate. Inform the service center of vibration at foot peg during free service. mild vibration at high speeds is not a big issue.
About air fuel ratio.....do not change the default setting. I dont think changing AFR will solve that problem.i think the throttle cable connected to accelerator needs to be checked ...since it is connected to linkages in carburetor that opens the fuel supply.

Went to a mechanic today. Told me that the vibrations are from the body. Also said to get the valves checked cause they are making noise at higher rpms.

And Ill get the throttle cable also checked. Thanks.

And I touched 60kmph now, the bike seems to give me mild jerks kindof, as if the wheels are being held. Engine revs sound same when these jerks occur. Doesnt happen often. Maybe for a 2 secs every 1km or so.

Hi, My advice to you would be not to try many things. I assume its still pretty new bike, give it some time as its all metal trying to make way into another metal. I hope I am clear .
You have full two two years of warranty, if it really would be valve issue it would get covered in warranty so there is no hurry to get valves checked.

                              Hi All,

After reading full 250 + pages of this ownership thread( which took me one week ) , I finally bought my Honda Twister Metallic Grey. I just want to thank you every one of you for enabling me make informed decision. Got some pics clicked when it was getting readied, will be posting them soon. So Twister would be joining his big daddy ( in terms of CC ) aka Royal Enfield STD 2003 in my garage.

I have one query ( still to get my owner's manual ) , whats correct way to check oil level ? It should be checked when engine is cold or when engine has ran for few KMs ?

MoonLight, welcome to Twister club!! the correct way of checking oil level is when engine is worm.....and 2-3 minutes after engine has been stopped.
