its slightly less then one and half turn from fully closed position.(do not tighten the screw too tight as threads may break). the line at center of screw where you place the tip of screw driver will approximately be in this / direction. i.e between 1 o'clock and 2 two o'clock. please see the second last pic rajaselvam had posted of his carb few days back...thats the factory set position of fuel screw on all twisters.Originally posted by rohancyberdude View PostCan any1 tell me that how many rotation anti-clockwise we have to do to the fuel screw to get more mileage as service guy f**ked my carb setting ..Last edited by sachin1111; 10-07-2012, 01:58 AM.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will check them.

just check the rear brake ply.. if too tight it does cause a slight sway towards the right , which while turning amplifies the effect... also ensure the rear wheel is evenly aligned and that the bolts are evenly spaced at both ends of the swing arm...
also check the handle bar .. put the bike on center stand and place weight on the bike rear such that the front wheels raise off the ground a bit(no contact) then try to steady the handle bar evenly balanced .,it should not hold and should freely move to either end .. if it tend to hold its position then the fault is here and you need to get this fixed.. the handle bar should be able to steer freely..

one turn means full rotation i.e 12 to 12 or 12 to 6 ?Originally posted by sachin1111 View Postits slightly less then one and half turn from fully closed position.(do not tighten the screw too tight as threads may break). the line at center of screw where you place the tip of screw driver will approximately be in this / direction. i.e between 1 o'clock and 2 two o'clock. please see the second last pic rajaselvam had posted of his carb few days back...thats the factory set position of fuel screw on all twisters.

one turn means 12 to 12 i.e one 360 degree rotation.....and 12 to 6 will be half rotation. After you have fully closed the screw remember the position of centre line on the screw..because that will the starting point of rotation.you can mark it with sketch pen to make things simpler.Originally posted by rohancyberdude View Postone turn means full rotation i.e 12 to 12 or 12 to 6 ?

bike should run smoothly until the last 4-5 km.personally I have done 85km on reserve fuel many times without any problem.yes it could be that mech has changed the setting of either fuel screw or idle Rpm screw. during my last service the Honda mech had increased the idle RPM setting and he did not inform me at all. but i quickly recognized the increased engine beating sound and after looking at the idle screw it was conformed that mech had increased it. if you can post the pics of fuel screw and idle screw then i can tell you if its different from factory setting...as it was done earlier by rajaselvam.Originally posted by fybercyber View Post<p>

other than this...if the fuel filter or fuel filter strainer screen or carburetor main jet is partially choked due dirt then also similar thing can happenLast edited by sachin1111; 10-10-2012, 01:19 AM.

Lot of messing around with the fuel and idle screws going on here guys!
Well, I just finished 18k kms on my Nimbus. Till now I've been running on the stock honda oil. But planning to change over. I was at a shell petrol pump the other day, and saw that they do free oil changes. Anyone tried a shell oil here? Any suggestions? I'm also fighting a bad fake neutral problem that the buggers at the SVC aren't able to fix. Any suggestions on what I could do?

If you use your bike in freeways then no issues with this oil.but in heavy city traffic your engine will get over heat easily.Originally posted by fybercyber View PostHey guys rajaselvam today i changed my oil to wurth brand 20w40.. is it good brand.... is it good to put 20w40 instead of 10w40 in twister
By nu own experience, i advice you all do not go for Shell engine oil it's really waste of money. you cant feel anything as engine oil changed. Hope you have changed you air filter,Originally posted by madhav766 View PostLot of messing around with the fuel and idle screws going on here guys!

Re: The Honda CB Twister
My air filter?? Nope! Still stock one if that's what you mean. I really haven't messed around with the bike. What engine oil do you suggest bro?Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostIf you use your bike in freeways then no issues with this oil.but in heavy city traffic your engine will get over heat easily.

And could you guys tell me if I can do servicing at home? Atleast minors like oil change, chain clean and lube, screw tightening n stuff? I'm tired of SVC inefficiency, and planning to do minor stuff by myself and SVC the bike only once even two times I do it myself.

IMO, a 20w40 or 10w40 will not make much of a difference in Indian climate (except if its too cold i.e. below 10C)Originally posted by rajaselvam_1987 View PostIf you use your bike in freeways then no issues with this oil.but in heavy city traffic your engine will get over heat easily.

Secondly shell oil's are good and second to none.. i have used the AX5 and AX7 on different bikes including my brothers' twister and it's much better than the honda oil. Trust me and the cost isnt much compared to other oils for the AX5 while the Ax7 is a wee bit more expensive.
Go for the ax5 20w40 and feel the difference!!
One other reason apart from the smoothness/reduction in vibes on why i have moved to shell oil's on my bikes is they are easy to procure from the shell bunks and peace of mind on the authenticity.
one of my highway ride(which i have done a few times): did a non stop 120 km in 2hrs (with a pillion) on my dio with the AX5, and when i stopped for a pee break i cud hear the engine just humm and felt no strain/overheating/loss of power, pick up etcc.. smooth as a silk
with a FE of 46kmpl.. simply fell in love with the AX5!

CAN you see any difference... i think fuel screw is in correct position.. i am not sure about idle screw sketch mark is not clear.Originally posted by sachin1111 View Postbike should run smoothly until the last 4-5 km.personally I have done 85km on reserve fuel many times without any problem.yes it could be that mech has changed the setting of either fuel screw or idle Rpm screw. during my last service the Honda mech had increased the idle RPM setting and he did not inform me at all. but i quickly recognized the increased engine beating sound and after looking at the idle screw it was conformed that mech had increased it. if you can post the pics of fuel screw and idle screw then i can tell you if its different from factory setting...as it was done earlier by rajaselvam.

you can't confirm the correct setting by just a pic because you never know the number of 'turns' (since that position can be set at different turns..) and oh those permanent marker marks are not related to tuning.. i guess some QC guys put it for passed/OK etc...Originally posted by fybercyber View PostCAN you see any difference... i think fuel screw is in correct position.. i am not sure about idle screw sketch mark is not clear.
